I think I watch Danny more for his interactions with the public than his food reviews. Such a legend.
Right !!! fabulous the people in the UK are funny
A fat northerner eating in a highstreet saying that the food is "nice" is a legend? Amazing.
I used to deliver to Wendy's and can confirm that the beef patties are delivered fresh and chilled and not frozen. So when you eat the burger you'll noticed the difference between other cheaper burgers.
used to work there in the 90s - used to put away the deliveries, definitely frozen.
Thing is, Maccies still tastes better. Oh sure its garbage, e numbers, salt, fat and cholesterol, ask me if I care? What matters is how happy it makes my mouth hole and wimpy and wendys always fell flat, school lunch of fast food, and considering fast food is the school lunch of foods already, thats an achievement to manage to be THAT unremarkable
You can cure that mental problem ( I use that term specifically) by changing your eating habits. For example just eat meat for 3 days. no seasonings and then on day 4 add a little salt.. WOW! salty!!!!!!!!
you think it tastes good but really when you eat clean it tastes like the sh1t it is!
@@GrumpyMunkyGameDesign
@@rashadashraf6922Oh it happened 35 years ago. It must be true.

I don't remember Wendys being in the UK in the 80s/90s i remember Wimpys though.
I went to Wendy’s in Wood Green, North London in the 90s. Delicious - they had pour your own ketchup - had never seen that before
Same we had one in west ken 👍
I don't remember a Wendy's either tbh.
Wood Green and Regents Street , I remember it had a salad bar downstairs
Wimpys was the one 💯 I miss that place food was amazing
I remember Wendy's in the UK many years ago and then they fizzled out. Quite a few years later, I was working in the USA and I discovered they were still alive and well. Glad to see them back here, as I always thought they had the edge over McDonalds and Burger King.
Yes,Most definitely pure quality. Glad they are back.,Do Rrmember though most of the numpties think Mcd's is a gourmet meal , lived on pot noodles 6 days a week & porrdge ,Wendy's is a very confusing name for them & resl food far to rich.😂
Yeah, Wendy's is definitely a perfect middle ground between your McDo's/BKs and somewhere like five guys
same went to the usa once and thought it was pretty nice. It was like when Burger King used to be really good
@@WilkesyBRAH but a lot cheaper than 5 guys
Wendys are number 3 in the world for burgers after Mc Donalds and Burger King.
It's a lot easier to be a good guy as opposed to a bad guy! Watch all your laid back videos, thanks dude!
I love how polite everyone is and friendly. You can't help yourself around Danny. Wendys looks nice, I'd also want to try jolibee next door.
Don’t waste your time or money on jollibee 🥴
He is a true Barnsley lad.
Ok mugs
The nicest Britt I know, apart from my sister in law. I don't care how it tastes, just your interaction with people makes me watch your channel. A diamond in a crude world.
Sure brothers happy. World what U make it least calendars on the wall
I'm not british or even english speaking for that matter, but this man is just so wholesome and an absolute great human being.
This is the greatest food reviewer i've ever came across on the YT

Another good video mate. The wall behind the ordering kiosks reminded me of the gameshow Blockbusters #IYKYK Btw there's still a few Wimpy's about with one nog so far from Leeds in Huddersfield town centre! 😊👍
We used to have a Wendys in Doncaster in the early nineties. I used to love their build your own burger approach, and the square burger patties. No idea why, but it wasn't open for very long, it was a shame really because their burgers were spot on, glad to see Wendys back in the UK.
yeah, used to work in the Wendys in Leeds in the 90s. Worked in the donnie restaurant for a day. It had 2 customers all day! Not surprised in closed down.
When I get home from work and settle in, I pop on your videos and get my meal to join you in like fashion. Very relaxing, love the interactions.
I went to a Wendys near me (Kingswood / Hull) and i thought it was alright. Not terrible but nothing special. Didnt help we were in the queue for almost 2 hours 😂.
Apparently it's the biggest Wendy's not just in the UK, but also Globally.
I tried a Wendy's a few months ago when I was in London. It was okay, but nothing to write to home about. Did however have one in my local high street in the late 90s, when I was in my teens. My brother and I loved the milkshakes! They were quite runny but, as Danny say, "full of flavour"!
I now live near a Wimpy which is also another childhood staple. And one that I can share with my parents as it came into being during their childhoods!
Ya Wendy's here in Canada is just meh.
The thing about this is that it's not a milkshake. It's called a 'Frosty' and there's only one flavor of Frosty... chocolate. I can get why people are confused, but it's not a milkshake by any means. It's soft-serve chocolate ice cream.
I’ve never ever seen Wendy’s outside of the USA. It used to be Wimpys that was all over the UK as you said.
I tried Wendy's in the Philippines last June 2023. The double baconator and chilli were so good 😋
Same wimpy was so good too mmmmm bit af ah nostalgia burger mmmm
Wendy's were certainly in Belfast.
They're all over Canada.
We’ve had Wendy’s in New Zealand since the 90s (at least). Sell going.
I will never get the whole selfie thing. But he’s a legend for entertaining it all 🙏🏻
OK, Danny, When I want burger and chips, I go to my local farm shop the Springhead at Mount Tabor, it is 3 miles north west of Halifax. Delicious freshly made burgers from their own farm and proper chips made from freshly cut potatoes, they serve John Willie Lees fine ales too. It is well worth a visit.
I remember Wendy back in the 80's. Red hair and green leather jeans... I wanted her, but alas it was never to be.
The geezer walking past at 18 mins 40 with the crutches loooool😂

Wendys is one of my fave treats when on hols in the US. Well pleased to find out theres several in East Anglia - one in Colchester, one at Brampton Services near Huntingdon & one in Peterborough. Now I can get a Daves Double fix any time.
Ah, I didn’t know, that’s down the bottom of the A14, then. I moved from East Northants and am in South Northants. I don’t go down the A1 to London anymore, but the M1. It’s probably why I’ve not noticed them!
There is one coming to cambridge city centre aswell!
If you like Wendy's in America, give "5 Guys" a chance next time you visit.
@@SamBrickell 👍
There is still a magnificent WIMPY BAR in Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire..
And it is brilliant.
😂😅🎉
I live in a smallish town in America, and wendy's is the one fast food place that has a line in the drive through.
I grew up in Canada and we didn't have Wendy's in our town for the longest time. When we finally got one , the lineups were ridiculous. I still eat at Wendy's from time to time. If you ever come across an A&W in your travels, it's definitely worth a stop.
Teen burger and best onion rings at A and W with a frosty mug of root beer. 🍻
I like the Uncle burger and their fries and gravy is good too, I'm not usually a fan of fries either.
Try Jollibee next! 😊 I recommend the original chicken and spicy chicken with spaghetti and peach mango pie! The best 🥰
Jollibee from the Philippines 🇵🇭 but far too expensive
Never had Wendys in the 80s but LOVED Wimpys. I always remember Wimpys being reasonably priced too. Speaking of the 80s 5:17 - that wall reminded me of the gameshow Blockbusters.
I had one for the first time in many years recently, the taste is definitely still there, there's just something about those brown buns! However, they're no longer that cheap, unfortunately. TBF nowhere is really cheap anymore, but i was a little taken back at a 1/4 pound burger meal being not far off £15
I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today
i need a "pee" please bob 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Wimpy used to be very good! Last time I one would probably be mid 90s. Seemed to be more made to order cafe somehow. Good quality.
Wimpy seem to have disappeared.
I like the Dave’s Burgers because they make it like you would have it at home, with the lettuce, mayo, and tomato.
Ah, most of the commentators are spring chickens like you Dan. Wendy's started up in UK in 1969, I went to the one in Hammonds (massive dept. store in Hull) for my 10th birthday, with my dad. In them days it were burger or hotdog wi chips or chips, and you could have brown or red sauce. If you'd offered them chilli they'd have run a flippin' mile, but I'll tell you what; the burgers WERE square, square as t'old customers. 🤣Nice one Danny! ⭐👍
I am afraid you are wrong about Wendy’s in the UK in 1969 the first one opened in Ohio in November of 1969,they opened in the UK in 1980-1986,then again in 1992-2000,and again in 2022,and like you I’m not a spring chicken.😊😊
There using brioche buns in the uk, here in America they use regular burger buns
Us bread is awful. Full of chemicals and taste more like cake than bread.
If you love a good peppery burger and you're ever in western Kentucky, come to Calvert Drive-Inn movie theater. Get a double cheese with extra black pepper(didn't have to say extra black pepper 20 years ago, people became blander). It's one of the top 3 burgers within a 250 mile radius!
Danny the chocolate is called a "Frosty". It is kind of a cross between a thick milkshake and Ice cream. My husband and I like to take our grandchildren to get a Frosty.
Danny, did you know that Wendy's collar spells out "MOM" to remind customers of home cooking goodness?
I remember having a Wendy's in Leeds in around 1995. Looks to be roughly in the same place, opposite the Old Odeon Cinema. It was quite nice. Only one I had but I remember them being square and then they suddenly vanished. Happy days! Might have to check this out again in 2025!
Definitely was same place if not next door!. Remember going in for a square burger back in 98 or 99.
Hi Danny. Another great video. I used to live in Birmingham and in fact you visited a restaurant 1/2 a mile from our house at Munchbox, Kingstanding. But last year my American wife and I moved to Indianapolis and so Wendy's is about every half a mile on the various roads by our house. Most fast food here is done as drive through, and our local is open to late. We love the Baconator and have to say that the UK one looked quite small compared to the monster we get but I was surprised by how cheap your meal was. Its REALLY expensive over here. The selection is slightly different for breakfasts here. However most of it looked the same on the screen you were using. I have to say I really love Wendys and its far better than McD's and to some extent Burger King. We have SO many to choose from that next time you are in the US you should do a single "street" and see how many kinds of food you can try!
I love the accent 😂 cheers 🍻 and Wendie’s burgers 🍔 are desert for the price, I like the triple patty with bacon 🥓 😋
I’m from the USA and I have never dipped my fries in a milkshake and I don’t know anybody who does - just sayin’ 😂
loved old wendy's back in the 90s.
The ole bird just sets her tea down and goes at that selfie...lol
If I can find a Wendys near me, i'll try it. Thanks Danny!

I can't understand his Scottish pronunciation at all, and I only understand about 30% of what he's saying, but it's still fun to hear him speak and watch his videos. Most of all, it's hilarious to watch him drive to a restaurant with a folding table and chairs to eat in the trunk of his car.
You probably can't understand his Scottish accent because he's not Scottish....
We went there yesterday , amazing , baconator cheese chips , double burger , nuggets and chicken burger , best I've tasted ♥️
Wimpys still exist in some places, if you ever fancy a trip to Essex, there are 2 in Southend. I like to go for the nostalgia, loved them growing up in Bristol
Plenty of wimpy in London still
Yep! And over in Lakeside. Bottom floor tucked away in the corner.
Always puts off time for the fans. Class act
Wendy's weren't everywhere in the 80s/90s.
But they were in the UK,if not everywhere.
I actually had a Wimpy for the first time in many years the other day, still as amazing as ever, although i did get caught off guard as i forgot it was table service lol. I will say, while it still tasted amazing, much like everything else, the price has shot up! Still not tried Wendys yet as there's none too near me, so interesting to see Dannys thoughts on it.
In the early 70's, I ate at a Wimpy's in New York City. Had never heard of the chain before and never saw another one again.
@@howardbeatman2820 The funny thing is, i think a lot of us Brits think of Wimpy as being British, due to them serving your burgers and chips on a real plate, with real cutlery and being bought to your table, assuming you eat in of course, and that combined with them being around for a long time, means myself and most people i know just think of them as British. However, when you look it up, they're apparently American, even though most Americans don't seem to have heard of them.
named after Wimpy from popeye !@@markc1793
Here in the USA Wendy's are pretty decent, Id always rate them better than Mc D and Burger King, they never make me happy, very over priced and always wish Id never stopped to eat there.
Wendy's fries and burgers are usually good, the chicken is decent but your's looked thinner, The chicken burger prices seemed a bit higher, My wife always gets a cup of Chili on the side and loves it, Ours until recent was only 99 cents, so £4 looks spendy to us...
I dislike the screen ordering as everyone touches them then uses those fingers to eat with, not a good idea in this day and age, I wonder how these places can think that's OK, I order from a person, if its screen only I leave.
Your score was fair, thanks Danny.
The best bit about Wendy's in Oxford Circus was you could just select your own salad for the burger and basically get a full salad to go with the burger
Hello from Minnesota. I'm watching Wendy's commercials on TV tonight. Late Saturday night 11 pm.
£21 is still steep I think for something that's a standard fast food place.
He paid £20 for just a burger with no fries the other week though..
Cant see any chain burger place can deserving a 9 out of 10. The burgers are always overcooked. Had Wendy's once in the USA and wasn't impressed it was just the same as McDonald's and Burger King.
Don't you think that "the burgers are always overcooked", for EVERY place EVERYWHERE, might be a bit of an uneducated generalisation?
@@garlichr uneducated ? What have you got a phd from burger university.
I worked at a Wendys in the early 80s when I was in uni. Wendy's was a franchise of Whitbreads and every now and again, senior people from the States would come over to check the standards in each store - they were all stereotypical senior execs with crew cuts and moustaches. Regardless of what you think of fast food, standards were kept really high. The food was prepped fresh everyday - all salad bar items, burgers were pressed, bacon cooked on the grill and buns put into warmers. The square burgers come out of the pressing machine that shape and were cooked pretty much fresh to order on a cast-oron grill. I can still remember the order for assembling a burger; mayo on the bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup on the top bun and mustard on the burger! It's how I do them still. Danny's right about the chilli which is made from overcooked burgers which are recooked into the chilli (which really makes sense). Profit was always an issue for Whitbreads and the food costs were pretty high - I think staff were literally eating the profits. Had a great time working there!
Backs up what I was saying in other comments where people said they were not in the UK. They certainly were and were better than McDonalds by miles
Oh there's a Jollibee behind you. Didn't know they had restaurants in the UK. Jollibee is popular fast food chain from the Philippines. Maybe give that a try sometime too?
Since I'm in the US, not the UK, I think this is the first place you've eaten at that I can eat at too 😀 I normally eat at Wendy"s once a week.
Does the food look the same?
@sandrojones8068 I think so but I don't remember seeing fries covered in chili on the menue. Seems like might be more of a UK thing. When I was still a teenager I worked at a Wendys. What Danny said about the chili being made from ground up old burgers is very true.
Once a week.
Where else you eat the other 6 days
We've had it back in London for a while, and as someone with American partner so had it a lot in the states I was very excited. I think it fills that gap that Burger King used to be before they only appeared at train stations and was expensively disaspointing, not quite as expensive as the proper burger casual restaurants like GBK or even five guys but a tad better than McDonalds and more fill.
The Baconator is my go to burger since Wendy's opened in a town near me. The Frosty® is far superior to a McDonald's milkshake. And I've never known the Frosty® machine to break down!! Wimpy is still around. If you look hard enough you'll find one.
Jolibee! It is right next to the Wendy's! You MUST try that. It is the Philippines number one favorite takeaway. They are known for their chicken.
In the Philippines they serve it with rice and gravy. Not sure if they do that outside of the islands. Check out their deserts too. They have mango apple pie. I am curious what it would be like there.
Take care and love the videos!
Jolibee is . Please please ❤️

Trust Danny to bring his own table despite there being loads of free ones in Wendy’s 😂
"Infamous?" is it infamous? The Wendy's in Lincoln had good experiences there. Delivered completely fresh hot, well served, and even very politely by whoever was serving "Sorry about the wait" like, thanks but this was quicker than anything I've had from BK or KFC or any other chain.
infamously high prices I imagine, the burgers are about 2 times the price of any other place.
Infamous to me is that Wendy's got gutted by a TV programme where their freezers filled with cancerous horse carcasses were featured. I seem to be the only person who remembers this. The same team went on to try & bring down Walls' sausages though I can't recall the precise reason.

Is Danny reviewing franchised chains now? This week Wendy's next week McDonald's 😝 If this is a new theme, then try to find a Wimpy. There are only 62 Wimpy franchisees left in the UK and I think most of them are down south; I have 3 of them within a short (10 to 15 minutes) driving distance.
I think we have all fallen victim to these mass produce chains and I must admit, those burgers made me feel seriously damn hungry.
Thick ice-cream in a cup is not a drink!
It is a Wendy's, better than most chains. I have never seen any Americans dip their fries in a milkshake.
Ya. Where did that one come from? 65 yrs old, never ever seen that here in USA.

Curious is the wendys in the uk using british bacon or american? Ide love a british bacon one because not a fan of American bacon.
I remember the old Wendy’s in Leeds, and I’m sure there was also one in Bradford. Must admit it was a real treat when I got to go there as the Mrs wasn’t keen, but I loved the burgers 🤤
As an American, I guarantee it's not the norm to dip our french fries in the chocolate drink which is called a 'Frosty'. In all, Wendy's does have one of the better fast food and cheap hamburgers.
As an a american, i guarantee it is 😂. Everyone does it lmao

I'd like to see more kiosk type ordering in America. The minimum wage for the idiots working there is $16.28. The workers act like this is their lifetime job and are as arrogant as you've ever seen. I dont do fast food in the winter trying not to get sick from the workers breathing on everything. And yes, every order is screwed up in some way.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25. Many individual states have their own set minimum wage, it varies. There is no minimum of $16.28.
You would be smart to check your facts before you run your mouth. The 2024 minimum wage for Washington State in 2024 is in fact $16.28 per hour. Keep running your face.@@handsoffmycactus2958

Wendys in the States calls it a Frosty dairy dessert, probably not allowed to call it ice cream due to the ingredients.
The hamburger patties that dry out are saved and diced up to make the chili in house. Worked at a Wendy’s while in HS.
Wendy's was in Leeds in the late 90s , pretty much that exact location if not next door. Definitely the top right side of that same street. remember going in 98 or 99.
“Noooo it’ll turn round…”

You're getting very big lad. Is it worth eating like this for money? Healthy or wealthy?
I think the same thing happened in Germany. I remember a Wendy's close-ish to where I grew up, and at some point before the 90s it was gone and replaced by a Pizza Hut. They're still one of my favorite fall-backs in the US.
Still have a Wimpy's not too far from me. Never had a Wendy's. Don't ever remember seeing one around these parts and I'm 49.
Wendy's has been in Canada since the 80's. I love it esp the fosty dring/ice cream
