You are making a difference to your customers , you take money from them .Revenue Officers for the state. The state needs the money while you protect your retirement .You should not have a private company car that is payed for from tickets .

He has a degree and he probably applied for a ranking order position. There are sergeants that are close to retirement and haven't been promoted nor applied for ranking positions.

I want to be a cop but at 48 don''t know if I would make through the process. I'm in school for law enforcement at Rasmussen College and once I pay my bill i can continue with my classes. So the question is I'm to old?
For some jobs, yes due to retirement requirements. Other places no. Most will have a minimum age and a max age.

I’m not sure what state you’re in but in Texas there is no age limit to being a state trooper, if that helps.

I have question
So in the state of Minnesota they require ether a two or four year college degree in criminal justice but the college has to be approved by the P.P.P.O.E. board and then after i get my degree then i have to go hunting for employment and find a agency which is hiring then go thru the interview process, background check etc or i could go to MI, MT, SD, ND apply for an entry level position get hired as a cadet they pay for me to go thru the academy an get paid well im in the academy as well and when i graduate i already have a job and i get paid the same or even a little bit better without a two year college degree and some tribal police (B.I.A.) are considered a federal agency so that means fed benefits and pension plan so why would i wanna go thru Minnesota's requirements when i simply relocate

End immunity and less people are going to want to be a cop. Without that blanket there are going to be way short on cops.
It's fun being a state trooper because I get to speed every day, but when you speed I give you a ticket; what could be more fun then that, I ask?

I rather be a city cop, state patrol are really boring. just sitting the highway all day looking at cars is very lonely. City cops is more fun you driving around in the community and get to meet people and pretty women.👍
State troopers get better benefits than most city cops and the police cars look way cooler, also I doubt you'll be able to meet many women, you'll need to do patrol duty always which means you'd be very busy
