Hi Pam, hoping your have a wonderful Saturday. This Journal is looking so nice. Its going to look beautiful when your all done and I cant wait to see part2❤
Thank you so much Pam for showing us how to do the construction, I always struggle with that. Thanks for using the papers too .. that's so nice of you. I love the Rudolph Golden Book, but I absolutely loved "Gordan's Jet Flight", that type of imagery from the early sixties just so appeals to me and what you created was awesome. Thank you once again for sharing > now to Part 2 .. can't wait 😍♥😃
Joey, I’m glad you found the video helpful. I love learning new techniques for journal binding!! As soon as I found “Gordon’s Jet Flight” I knew it was going to be a special journal. So glad you loved it too!😍
I'm a newbie. I finally found someone that saves the whole little golden strip and covers all intake. And I think the original book pages are not cut off. You made my day. Thank you for putting yourself out there in the video world sharing your art. Now I'm going to find your part two for the sewing the signature. Big hug always. Linda D.
I’m so excited you found me and that you appreciate the Little Gold Books! 😍 you are correct, I did not trim the original pages at all. Thanks for joining me here on TH-cam!
Thank you so much for creating this video!! ❤Subscribed!! I’ve been collecting little golden books with the intention of making one of these and haven’t started yet. I really love the instructions that you give and the way you did your binding.
I use my heat embossing gun on the spine and that melts the glue and then the golden spine comes off - then I use a flat screwdriver to pry open the staples - it is an easy way to get the book apart without damage - I love your idea of the inside spine - I’m going to try this - thanks for sharing
I have yet to make any kind of junk journal. I have collected Little Golden Books for years. I have been scared to use them for a journal. I didn’t want to lose the integrity of these beloved books(some are my adult daughter’s books). This by far is the best tutorial I’ve seen on how to make the cover and spine without losing the golden foil and not having to cut the pages. My fear is gone and a Little Golden Book will be my first junk journal. Thank you so much for this tutorial…❤️
I am so glad that this tutorial gave you some ideas you are comfortable with! I know difficult it to use a beloved book and worry if you will be happy with the outcome! I hope you have fun and enjoy making your journal! ❣
Thank you,I am just getting into junk journaling, and picked up a few golden books yesterday from a thrift store.Your video showed me how to get started
I have just recently found you and I am so thankful I did. I love watching your tutorials. I am a heart patient and am recovering from over 70, yes 70 heart procedures. I want to do this so badly. I believe it will help me tremendously. Can you advise me on where to get supplies that aren't very expensive? I have texted others and rec'd no reply. I hope to hear from you soon. Your work is beautiful!
Thank you for watching! I am so glad you are enjoying my content. The great thing about junk journaling is that you really can use anything. Save any junk mail, magazines, papers, cereal/cracker boxes (anything you can think of!) and start using those. I also get some good things a yard sales, thrift shops (Goodwill) and the Dollar Store. Some cities have consignment type shops just for crafts- and there are some great inexpensive supplies! Also ask neighbors and friends if they have old books, magazines, cards- most people are happy to give those things away! Best of luck to you! I hope you have fun and enjoy junk journaling!😊
Thank you! I just found your channel and this is the spine I am looking for. I am trying my 1st one and this is very helpful. Thanks so much for sharing!!😊
Absolutely! Journaling, art journaling and healing go together in beautiful ways! I’m glad you are interested in this idea as a way for all of us to connect more and journey together!! ❤️
It drives me nuts when I see these tutorials and people don't preserve the golden spine....I mean...little GOLDEN books. Lol Thanks for the great tutorial!

What is the tool called that you used to cut the corners on your spine?
It’s called “Bookbinding Corner Miter Tool”. Here is the link on Amazon: amzn.to/3zsSQiJ
