      Well I think everybody would be like that.
      Personnally I'm not a native english speaker so I'm always like "did I use the right word ? Hope I don't misunderstand something" etc. So I can only imagine when she has to use sign language she learned 1 year ago. Especially when your word can help someone, you don't want to misspelling anything.

      @@xinpingdonohoe3978 i am sorry but it definitely isn't the way it sounds to you. Due to my work i know a few patients that live in this situation.
      In case you want to simulate what they go through (but i warn you, you will likely hurt yourself during this experiment) get some in-ear headphones, put some white noise on max volume and put on completely black shades. I don't mean dark shades, i mean get a spraypaint and paint the glasses completely black.
      Now, with all that "equipment" just walk from your apartment door to the street (but please no further, and don't walk onto the street!)
      after less than half the distance you will most likely know that this is very far from tranquil if it's your everyday situation. I only tried being blindfolded for a few hours while walking around and doing stuff and it was still quite an eye-opening experience, even though i was able to use my hearing. Without my hearing i couldn't have done that experiment for more than maybe a few minutes and would be bruised all over.

      Yes I started learning ASL in elementary school summer school classes because my best friends parents were deaf so they taught me some and I thought it was cool and wanted to learn more so I could talk to them better. So one of my teachers parents owned the deaf school near us so during the summer I got to take some ASL classes and then I ended up stopping in middle school cuz I got sick. But the high school I went to offered it as a foreign language like class, because starting in elementary school all through little school we had to leave Spanish and German and then once you hit high school you pick between Spanish, German, French or ASL

All the while, nurses, staff and the patient would write down their conversation. When I came inside the room the next day, and signed “Hi, good morning,” I immediately saw some relief in her eyes and knew there was a big grin behind her mask. It is extraordinarily because the person who needed help was so very vulnerable, and it is more extraordinarily still it was a beautiful child with the skill set to help this very vulnerable adult. Usually it would be an adult. Think of it like a beautiful sunset. You should stop and admire it even if the sun sets everyday. Each sunset is extraordinary, as is each act of human kindness. Human kindness is all around us and if we don't see it then we can create it ourselves. I mean... Whenever you help others you lose out on the opportunity that not helping would have given you. In this case what she lost out on was part of the time of a flight... Not exactly a high cost for her. I think most (if not all) people would have helped in her situation. The remarkable part of the story is that she had the SKILLS to do it.
      Had I been in her situatiion and had the skills I would have helped on the flight. But if you asked me to donate my time on a regular basis to help people like him I would be less inclined to do it, because the cost to me would be higher.

      I learned the ASL hand gestures for the alphabet when I was a kid. I did it for fun, and signed a few words for fun with my siblings. But we only did it during one long, hot summer. It has been decades since that time, and I've forgotten most of the gestures. It isn't hard to relearn it.

      haha i couldn't even talk to my classmates at that age for an hour, let alone a stranger 😂
      But when i was younger, in elementary school, i always went to a fence with a big dog that liked me to pet him. one day an old man with a cane came by on a stroll and started talking to me about the dog. I kept going there over and over again to pet the dog and talk to the old man for easily an hour or more. Turns out the man was a world war 2 veteran and was shot 5 times in total. He lived in the building right next to the one with the dog and always took a walk around the block. Such a great guy. One day he didn't turn up anymore sadly, i guess either he passed or his health deteriorated too much.
      Thanks that you made me think about this, the memories of that time make me happy :)

    • @dudicorn6503
      @dudicorn6503 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Fitratul By no means. Nourishment is a requirement to the human body, but loneliness is different. Loneliness is something mental, I could argue that in order to be lonely you must have experienced non loneliness because things which relate to mental constructs or knowing require knowledge, and knowledge is acquired, not inherent to the mind (or consciousness).

    • @PichDextro
      @PichDextro 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dudicorn6503 Let's look at it this way: In order to be on this world you have to be born. Meaning you had at least 9 months contact with another human (your mom). There is currently no way around that, meaning you can't nullify contact, some kind of social interaction and warmth. Now let's go further. How would you lock the test subject up? How big is the room? Are the walls painted? Is there a window? Is there any kind of sound the subject could hear, like noises from outside? Let's say no to all of these. The subject is in a room, similar to a padded cell and never saw a human being before, however it heard the voice of its mother, while still being in the uterus and it was born in a natural way. Without contact to humans, the subject would never learn to talk, walk, eat. And that's another factor: How do you feed the subject? It will never learn to cook without human contact so you need to provide food, meaning there will be contact again. I doubt there is actually a way to bring a human onto the world while also denying them all kinds of human interaction whatsoever. That human will eventually see that there are other humans and therfore feel lonely.
