The Question about police brutality and racism that he answered in my opinion I don't agree with. Police aren't going around targeting and shooting all minorities and black people if that were the case we would be back to the 1870s. Incidents like these don't happen regularly (of course it shouldn't happen at all) but the thing is America likes to talk about these incidents as we should if we want things to change but keep in mind these incidents represent a small minority of problematic Police men not the whole of the police force saying what he did enforce an ignorance in people who are especially not from the U.S. and people who are. I know some smart ass is gonna respond with well you aren't a minority your experience is not the same as a black person or a minority is let me tell ya I am a minority (Mexican) and I live in an area full of minorities where crime is unfortunately common I have witnessed Police brutality and racism but I didn't allow one man's actions to blind me and convince me to represent that asshole's actions as the whole of the police force. Let's not propagate ignorance do your on research people and stay open minded even if it's hard sometimes given what some of us have been through.
Damn they rlly went hard with this one. Talking gun control and politics in general isn’t seen a lot in these typically lighthearted culture shock videos, but it’s good they addressed it For anyone who wants to visit America, I’d make sure you have some friends or family that are American to stay with just to be safe. Chances are your vacation here would be perfectly fine, but tensions regarding police brutality, racism, politics are really high right now. Besides things are really expensive right now
I'm American and have been lucky to have been able to travel to Europe and Asia quite a few times. The thing is that the US is so big and we are somewhat isolated with really only Canada and Mexico connected to us. For most people its hard to travel to other countries, not like in Europe where you could drive or take a train for a few hours and be in another country. And the cost is high if you want to travel, which means many people only travel close by or within the US and never get out and see the rest of the world.
I really enjoyed this video the most to see Asians from different countries talking with an American. I don't want anyone to think I am bragging this is not the case at all, simply pointing out that Americans are not the same. I am African American, never joined the military, but I have been to Spain (Spanish class trip) Germany(cousin in the military sent me a ticket to see him) Morocco paid myself, as well as Egypt, Dubai, France, UK I saved the money and paid for them and it's not as expensive as many people think, no I'm not married or have kids. I would teach English online and become friends with my students and they would ask me to visit them. I speak 5 languages English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Arabic and because of watching so many Chinese dramas I know quite a few phrases in Mandarin Chinese (wasn't trying to learn but through subtitles and repetition I learned what they meant) I enjoy meeting people, making new friends, so I don't want them to think Americans are all the same, we are not and we don't have the same values, and we are raised differently. Some Americans do have an imperialists way of thinking and they don't want to learn another language they feel if a person comes to America they need to assimilate and learn English, and to be honest the immigrants that do come here (unless they are older, like senior citizens who usually have kids that speaks English and acts as their interpreter! As far as the eating habits, there are many people who can't cook and eat processed microwave foods and take out and this is why we have a lot of overweight people in the US. Speaking for myself, I started cooking at the age of 7 and I cook instead of eating out, I cook foods from many cultures of the world, Chinese American foods, Japanese, Greek, Italian, American Soul Food, Spanish food, Mexican Food, Southwest, I take pictures of my food and post it on my social media different dishes I have prepared homemade!
Had a recent visit to the ER just for a few hours, and the bill I got back was well over $1,000. If you're asking if my insurance would have covered it, had I not used my insurance it would have been almost $2,500. They don't ask for fear of discrimination, but really... I wish they had asked. Luckily through my work there are grants I can apply for to help, but not everyone has these options, and all of this needs to change. Healthcare should not be exclusive to upper classes and at best put lower classes into debt. If you want to get into it, Jesus asked us to love one another... and to me that says support Medicare For All. Imo anyone who doesn't support it is either getting paid by lobbyists not to, or has been told that it would be too costly and a "welfare for lazy people" despite the healthcare industry taking in billions of dollars for their CEOs and they themselves getting tax cuts by previous administrations.
In the US. I live in a town that split into two towns that are in two different states. Practically everyone that lives in the two towns knows everyone. Because they grew up together. Mostly white people where I live but has become more diverse since I moved to the town in the 1990s. There is not a lot of crimes committed in the town. People can leave their houses and cars unlocked and no one breaks into them. U can leave items unattended and people will not steal them. None of the cars I have owned have been stolen or broken into. None of the houses I have lived in have been broken into. I don’t fell 100% safe where I live, but I have not been robbed or stabbed or shot or harmed in any way living where I live.
Don’t even get into a ambulance call someone says call an ambulance and it’s a wrap your broke after that ride alone 😅like nah pull my car around and speed there rather get a ticket than call an ambulance
With the guns, I think the place you live also has a part in that. At least I think so. Where I live, never have I heard of such a thing happening. Heck, even hearing of someone being attacked/murdered is such a shock because it doesn't happen much. Like the four University students k!lled in their home in Northern Idaho was such a shock it took a while to even settle in. Though there are some people who are total sh!!s and do horrible things and abuse their authority. Yes, eating the food. Especially if you don't have time and want something quick, because of work of school. But not going to deny that the fried food are amazingly good. Though unhealthy. The tipping! Some servers/waitresses/waiters don't get paid enough and the tips help a lot. Experience. The manager told me that the reason the wage is so low is because we "get" tips and that's considered as part of a wage. Sometimes some get luck and get a lot and other times others get very little. So, work as a server, not as a making a living, but a first job or part time like he said is a good start.
you could at least get someone that understands history and culture of america outside of where they grew up or lived their whole lives. The people you have on this show representing us sometimes is just laughable.
Exactly. The gun/police thing is just not accurate. Does it happen? Yes. Is it fair to tell these people that it happens all the time and start talking about white women in the south not being in danger? No. In reality, the perception these people have is that America is dangerous and the police shoot you randomly. Again, has this happened? Yes. Are we in danger at all times? No.
Working as server in a restaurant is not a good part time or full time job even if u are getting lots of tips. Especially if u get treated like crap at the restaurant u work at. I don’t think I have ever heard of severs at restaurants making enough money to buy a car or go on trips unless the car is a really cheap car and the price of a trip is cheap.
When I was a kid parents could send their young children to pick up cigarettes for them from the store. Not sure if they can do that with alcohol. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it.
Do they only have one working microphone? If so why are they wearing microphones that don’t work? Why not give the only working microphone to who ever is talking?
Like, you go near a stadium and all you experience is smoky air, druggies, graffiti and roads so bad it’s hard to even realize how much corruption there could be hidden
The human body changes cells every 7 years, also people still behave immaturely here at 18-20, so 21 makes its own sense. Oh well, at least that's 3 extra years of sober minds.
With guns, this is just from my point of view, but even if we banned guns it's the people who get the guns that are the problem. There are obviously people who have guns but don't go around shooting places. Recently at a friend's birthday, someone brought a gun and it went off while we were there. That caused unnecessary trouble when they could have left their gun at home. I know they might have had their reasons for bringing it there, but the bullet could have hurt someone. Also, children who have parents who work in the military and the police force. Those kids might be able to get access to guns and bring them to school. minors don't have access to guns here, it's the adults that do. I think that it's up to the adults in the country to really know how to keep their children safe and the other people around them. This is coming from a 13-year-old in the 8th grade.
From my personal experience the bluer more populated cities tended to have terrible roads and graffiti everywhere, a good example would be Seattle where you can literally feel that you’ve entered because you start to notice problems everywhere in the infrastructure, in bellevue/redmond/kirkland the area is much nicer by a long shot
I would say most Americans have at least one place outside of the country that they would love to visit. We simply can't afford it.
