Hope your liquid wheels are working well with the Solar 250. The technique demonstrated here is known as 'Heat Slides', using heat from the lamp of a modified vintage slide projector to boil inks in layers between glass slides. It was very popular in the '60's in the UK and Europe.
Cool! I opened up another tab to add some music to your wonderful "wet slide" visuals, ...it just happened to be Green On Red´s "Smokestack Lightning" : )
+projektor4 - there is a very cool live performance of howlin´ wolf playing this song - it was one of the first things i stumbled across when i got internet access and started exploring youtube, haha... :-) edit: oh boy, i just listened to green on red - phew, i was almost embarrassed, räusper - i highly recommend "howlin´wolf smokestack lightning" live 1964 - - - just watch this guy and listen to his voice, he was a number of it´s own, oh yes he was... :-) (btw. the studio version is also way cool)
👉 *Visionary Dreamscape.* Beautiful liquid art.... I played "Méditation Des Enfants" by Alain Goraguer from the film _Fantastic Planet._ The music is short but it fits it so well... very hypnotic! 🔴🔵🟢
Sorry for the delay. I don't often visit this account. These are water based formulations made up from powder dyes dissolved in solvents tuned to different boiling points according to the power of the projector lamp used, usually 500w or 1000w. Some people use commercial inks.
+dallas simpson - very nice, i remember we had something like this in our 70s disco - thanx for sharing... :-) i´m about to play some music publicly in a small club (well, i´m not really a dj) and i´m looking for some adequate visuals for that - would you mind if i use this little film? greetings from germany
BTW there is a group on Facebook - the Psychedelic Light Show Preservation Society where light artists from all over the world share and show their work ranging from the old traditional '60's techniques to contemporary experimentation.
Hi Seth, Thanks for your interest. This example uses water based dyes in two separate layers as a live projection. This is the UK style of psychedelic light show using heat projection.
Hi Mr. Simpson, this is absolutely beautiful. I was wondering if you would be open to letting me use fragments of this clip on my instagram to promote lyrics over it for a new song of mine. I would of course credit you!
Amazing!!!! I didn’t live 60’s but I love them. The most wonderfull years ever !!!!
Just purchased a refurbished Solar 250 and 6 liquid effects wheels from Bubblevision.uk- AMAZING! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks. Excellent. Offering these visuals with no sound allows viewers to customise their own sound. Enjoy!

Any chance you would be willing to share the liquid concoctions you used? :) Is it just a combination of different oil and water based dyes?
