When you have scorching from the heat press, doing sublimation, you can lightly spray the scorched area with hydrogen peroxide and it should take the brown marks away.
OMG! Hope I don’t seem like too much of a geek but I’m so stoked over the past few videos that you’ve posted! It’s all the sublimation information that I’ve been looking for. Thanks 😊!
The PolyCoats are really for specific projects and takes a lot more time. It is worth sticking to professional sublimation blanks. Did want to mention - tape upper parts of mugs where mouths will be if someone will be drinking from the mug. Also, use a very fine sand paper over the mug after the coating has dried and this will make it smooth. I’ve also seen pros lightly sand mugs before putting on the poly coating as they say it helps. For shirts, if you wet the edges (with water before pressing) where you sprayed the poly , but are not sublimating it helps to not get the darkened area. You can also lightly spray brown areas with peroxide/water right after, leave for a bit, and then rinse. Love your channel! Thanks for keeping us inspired!
Angie, you are so awesome to test this stuff out for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I'm bummed that it didn't work out but you saved me a fortune in investing in these myself.

Dont need lawsuits. Thanks for this info... always looking for easier, faster and CHEAPER... Thanks again...BEST VIDEOS EVER!!
Thanks for this video. I bought a sublimation spray in the summer, but since I didn't have a sublimation printer with sublimation ink or the sublimation paper at the time. I couldn't try it. Once I got the sublimation paper, I tried to do it with regular inkjet ink on a cotton T-shirt and of course, because it was not sublimation ink, it didn't work. The T-shirt I tried it on was a Royal Blue Gildan Heavy cotton shirt, so I didn't notice any discolouration from it. I ended up using dark fabric inkjet transfer sheet and did the design on my shirt. Now that I have all the right materials I will give the spray with a cotton T-shirt to see if it comes out good or not. The spray I got was from Amazon and it just say Sublimation transfer coating for use on cotton and canvas material. I'll let you know how that turns out. But as far as sublimation goes, I will stick to the proper sublimation blanks and T-shirts.
Angie, thanks for the instructional video. I purchased the Ngoodiez sub coating for mugs. It did not come with instructions. I found your video thinking it would tell me how to use it. However, what it did shows me is that this is a product I really don't want to even fool with at all. So, it's going back to Amazon and I will purchase mugs already set up for sublimation. Thanks for passing on your expertise.
On the sublimation spray for fabrics, I used it on 100% cotton towels & washed them with just baking soda in the washer & tumble dried like normal and it came off no issues. I used the same product as well as a different company's spray which is similar.
Thank you for this video. I was wondering how these products would work. You definitely answered my question. I truly appreciate your videos. Thanks for being you.
you should try sublimation spray for your self at least cotton clothes ,but not like she did ,she did it the wrong way, dont put so much, one spray for one spot no more than that then wear your gloves and spread it even, lastly let it dry ,also choose a good brand ,I been use sprays for so long never had a problem
thank you so much for experimenting with these products, I was looking into trying this coating process but I will continue to use my sublimation blank mugs. Thanks!!! 😀

Not sure about these, but the Subli-T spray is amazing and works wonders. Also, the little bit of yellowing can be fixed by a quick spray of peroxide. You can sublimate in cotton and it will look great until you wash it. Because the ink has nothing to bond with, it will wash out. Otherwise, the spray I use works great, those cheap brands are terrible.
I think she sprayed too much on the shirt because I spray with homemade Poly t and I have great results and sell them at my daughter's pro shop with no yellowing
Angie, once again another terrific video!!! Question on the WRMK mug wrap. Did you like using that? I find that fascinating!!! Do any of your previous videos show how to use that from start to finish (oven temp, time in oven, etc). I've never seen that wrap before. Thanks!
@@AngieHolden on that note, I just purchased the WRMK kit on HSN. But now afraid to use it because everyone said it smells horrible when placed in the oven. Did you experience the smell? using a sublimation mug blank.
Thank you! Made my life so much better! I was debating on getting those exact stuff! I will pass on it. And just spend the extra money on the sublimation products
Instructions do say if you oversaturate the shirt, for the spray on fabric, it will turn yellow. Will be trying on a cotton sweater. Gonna give it a go.
You do the greatest videos that save us all so much time and money! This may sound weird, but I am glad it wasn't a success because i dont want to be tempted to buy even more stuff. For me, having a dedicated oven for the ceramics is a non-starter. I just don't have tons of room for that type of thing. So I likely will never do mugs at all. But for fabrics I'll stick with polyester shirts
I also was hoping for one to be a success as there are so many cute inexpensive items we would be able to sublimate if it would have worked. Maybe in the near future there will be a company that will come out with a quality product seeing as a demand for one is on the rise!!
Interesting video. The WRMK wrap seemed to work well with the sublimation blank. I recently bought the set at a greatly reduced price so if everything works except the coating, I'm OK with that. I'm hoping the wraps will work on tumblers also.
Love the test and the information. Will be trying more of them? I know people seem to like Dyepress poly T plus for fabric and Dyepress polygloss. I even heard people using polycrylic not only on hard surfaces but mix it to use on fabric. Have you heard of it or tried it? Thanks for the video!
I bought some dyepress poly T, it's still in the box...scared to try it. They sent a free small sample of gloss with my order. I also ordered their matte for wood, that's really what I want to try. But still...all of it is still in the box with FEAR written all over it, which is kind of surprising, I'm usually willing to jump right in LOL.
I would recommend that you use a sponge to very gently spread spay on your shirt and in the process of doing that it help to remove excess from your shirt. When brushing cups put your hand down in mug with your gloves on it makes it easier to move your cup around and not get your fingers away. Questions for you , did you use a paper protection for your heat wrap for cups to keep in from bleeding ink onto the wrap and did you try washing shirts to see what happens to them (like the yellowing disappears?)?Thanks for your video it was helpful and informative. I have tried the 2 tbsp of minwax water based polycrylic to 8oz of water in spray bottle. It didn’t yellow and I was able to sublimate to the cotton shirt. I also have washed the shirt (so far 3 times) and the sublimation is still there but I feel as if it has dulled a little.Again thanks for the video I really enjoyed it.
If I use a reusable wrap, I usually add some paper. I didn't try washing them as I don't think someone that was making shirts to sell would want to do that. I haven't tried any other solutions as I was pretty discouraged by these!
I’m glad you mentioned the polycrylic. I have a metal (2”X4”) piece I got from dollar tree. I have used mod podge to apply glow in the dark powder. Going to use the Varathane ultimate polyurethane to coat it and try to sublimate. Maybe it will work if yours did.

I saw the WRMK kit on HSN and when I asked about the transfer coating, I was told that it was only for use on cotton fabric, and not on hard surfaces like mugs. Do the written instructions say something different? I wasn’t convinced that the coating would be any good, but I ordered the kit anyway because I wanted to try the transfer pens and the price was right! Thank you for an excellent video!
@@AngieHolden Wow! That's not what they told me! I was told that the mug in the kit is already a sublimation blank, so there was no need to put any coating on it, and that the coating in the little bottle is only for cotton fabric items. Very helpful. I've tried another brand of poly spray for cotton and it was pretty good--but not 100%. So I'm not a fan of polyester shirts. Do you have a recommendation for poly shirts that are thicker and feel/look more like cotton? THanks.
Thank you Angie- you saved me some money and I appreciate it. I think for now, I will stay away from trying these products. I could clearly see the difference. I was , however- surprised that the cotton took the ink ( the un-sublimated side) fairly well. I thought it wouldn't print at all
Thanks for your videos. I've seen other videos that talk about the yellowing being gone after washing. Let us know when you wash that shirt. Also, I read in the comments about someone having success with Poly T Plus and Gloss for shirts and mugs. Will check in again to see if you try those. I looked for that product at Hobby Lobby and didn't see it. (Poly T Plus.). Thanks again! Excellent videos.
Hello I wanted to know if I can use sublimation paper with my hp jet 5505 printer and then use sublimation blanks I really don’t want to buy another printer but I would like to try this if you can help me do this on your video. thank you love your videos.
Your HP printer won't be compatible with sublimation ink. You will need either an actual sublimation printer or convert an Epson inkjet printer (don't use the inkjet inks that come with the printer). HP/Canon don't work with sublimation inks unfortunately.
Did you wash the shirt to see if the yellowing would go away? Reason I ask is because I have actually pressed to long and had a very yellow-burnt color on a blank Cricut brand shirt and almost tossed it/ But I kept it and washed it to use for experimenting with different colors of Infusible Ink from Cricut ~because sometimes for me at least, I don't exactly know what that color is gonna look like on an actual shirt or if you can even see it at all~am I right crafters?~ Low and behold the yelowwish-butnt color came out and the shirt was amazing!!! Just something to think about trying, I know its not the spray you used on a cotton shirt but hey we all do laundry, so why not give it a toss in the washer before hje trash, not wasting anything this away. Hello, when I apply the sublimation liquid to a ceramic mug, does it become ready for printing? I put it on my freesub heat transfer machine and of course the picture will be with tape, is that enough?
Angie hi, regarding the fabric poly spray, was wondering if you have tried this technique using your heat press instead of the Cricut press. I've seen a TH-cam video showing no yellowing on a 100% cotton sweat shirt using a regular heat press. I've tried using my Cricut heat press several times with a poly spray and no matter what temp I use, there's yellowing (like it burns the t-shirt). So I'm wondering if maybe the result would be more favorable using a regular heat press.
Thanks for doing this video! I would love to know what happens when you wash that t-shirt. How much do the colors fade when washed and will the brown color leave?
You should run it through a wash to see what happens. I just found your channel and am subscribing today...I do hope you do the wash and give us a update. Thank you much for this video as I also was wondering about those sublimation products. So glad I found this and did not waste my money...
Silk screen is where you use ink to paint the fabric. You can see how here: th-cam.com/video/swUa26489Uo/w-d-xo.html and sublimation is where there is a reaction and the ink is embedded into the fibers of the shirt for instance. Here is a basics on it: th-cam.com/video/JrsGjCVz5YA/w-d-xo.html

Angie I am wanting to know if you can sublimate the bottom of a tumbler. I would like to put my logo on the bottom of my tumblers. Is there a way to do this?
I messed up on a few stainless steel tumblers and when I removed the ink it removed all the white coating. Can I use these on stainless steel tumbler to subliminate after?
In regards to the T-shirt since it scorched the cotton, have you tried doing it on a lighter heat setting instead of what the recommended setting was? Was it still scorched if you did?
Would you mind doing something like this for clear glass? I'm most interested in wine bottles. I make wine at home and would love to just sublimate the labels so I don't have to replace the labels every time I reuse the bottle.
Hi Ms. Angie I am getting into sublimation and having a very hard time. I downloaded the ICC Drivers for my ET-2720 have the hipoo ink. cotton will take the ink, but will wash out when you wash it.
I am going to try a few more but I still don't like it yellowing after I press!
@@AngieHolden have you tried anymore yet like Polygloss from Dyepress?
what kind oven you use?? and they temperature?? thank you .good thing l Didnt wasted money on plain mugs
Time and temperature should be indicated on the packaging of the brand you purchase. You can use a regular oven or a counter top oven.
thanks for this video!!! it was soo good to know this!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video, can I have a link from a supplier to have these products on the Alibaba platform please?
Hello I wanted to know if I can use sublimation paper with my hp jet 5505 printer and then use sublimation blanks I really don’t want to buy another printer but I would like to try this if you can help me do this on your video. thank you love your videos.
You also have to have sublimation ink. Try this: th-cam.com/video/LYj0vS9lOhs/w-d-xo.html
My 12 a.m. though for the new day

I didn't. I feel like if people are using this for items to sell, they wouldn't want to have to wash them?
Wow! Thank you for doing this video. I'll stick to the sublimation mugs.
Me too actually! HA!
Nice video. After putting a image or test on a mug, is it dishwasher safe.
I am not sure with these products as I haven't tested them.
Hello, when I apply the sublimation liquid to a ceramic mug, does it become ready for printing? I put it on my freesub heat transfer machine and of course the picture will be with tape, is that enough?
I wish I would’ve seen this video earlier lol. I just bought the spray for fabrics
What do you use to clean your brushes after to prevent it from hardening
For things like this, I generally use a disposable brush.
Can you try the fuze on cotton????! Would love to see that one.
Which chemical need mixed tell me please 🙏🙏🙏
J'ai besoin de ces produits svp
Very useful,thank you
You are welcome!
Hi, teacher. Please send me the short cut material with the exact size. Thank you
Can you try that coating in the mugpress?
Thank you
Did the yellowing on the shirt wash away?
Thank you for this video.
How so know if your mugs or whatever is god for sublimation? I know you said it has a coating bit how can you tell if it has that?
I just buy blanks that say they are for sublimation.
@@AngieHolden ok thanks
So all the dollar tree cups probably won't work then
No. Cups from the dollar tree will not work for sublimation unless you add a coating.
Im also wondering if the sublimation coating would go on coloured mugs like black, red etc..
👍
Thank you Angie for this video, thank you for your honesty!!!! Great helpful video thank you for sharing!!! Hugs Liz x
You are so welcome!

What about stainless steel water jug. No yellowing would happen ?
I am not sure.
is is possible to use the spray sublimation coating on a tumbler?
Angie hi, regarding the fabric poly spray, was wondering if you have tried this technique using your heat press instead of the Cricut press. I've seen a TH-cam video showing no yellowing on a 100% cotton sweat shirt using a regular heat press. I've tried using my Cricut heat press several times with a poly spray and no matter what temp I use, there's yellowing (like it burns the t-shirt). So I'm wondering if maybe the result would be more favorable using a regular heat press.
OH maybe. I have on my calendar to try some more brands of this.
Thanks for doing this video! I would love to know what happens when you wash that t-shirt. How much do the colors fade when washed and will the brown color leave?
I didn't test that as I wasn't happy with the outcome in this case. I am trying to test some more products to get some better options.
You should run it through a wash to see what happens. I just found your channel and am subscribing today...I do hope you do the wash and give us a update. Thank you much for this video as I also was wondering about those sublimation products. So glad I found this and did not waste my money...
Angie have you tried the Poly T Pro from dyepress on shirts?
The only ones I have really tried are in this video. I want to do more experiments but haven't yet!
Did you wash the shirt and did it come white after washing?
I actually do not remember.
Thank you for doing this video! I am learning a lot. What is the difference between sublimation and silk screen on fabric? Which is better?
Silk screen is where you use ink to paint the fabric. You can see how here: th-cam.com/video/swUa26489Uo/w-d-xo.html and sublimation is where there is a reaction and the ink is embedded into the fibers of the shirt for instance. Here is a basics on it: th-cam.com/video/JrsGjCVz5YA/w-d-xo.html
Hi, i am just wondering can it be cured in a mug press instead of the oven? Or maybe used in the heat press after being cured in the over?
I don't think it could be cured in a mug press. I am hoping to test some more coatings soon.
The company of the product you used on the shirt saids that if you put to much product on the shirt causes yellowing.
Feel free to try it yourself! I just could not get it to work.
did the yellow fade on the fabric after washing?
I did not wash it as I was not happy with the results.
Just found this channel and love it. New subscriber
Welcome aboard!
Have you tried sanding the glaze off the mugs before SPRAY coating?🤗
No I haven't.
I am interested for purchasing for this item, how can purchase it
I can't find links to the cotton spray or cups stuff.?
Links are always in the description below the video. Click show more if you are on computer. On mobile, swipe up on the video or click the arrow to expand the description depending on how you are watching.
Angie I am wanting to know if you can sublimate the bottom of a tumbler. I would like to put my logo on the bottom of my tumblers. Is there a way to do this?
I have seen people try and not have a ton of success.
WHY NOT TRY PUTTING YOUR LOGO ON WITH VINYL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE MUG.
have you tried subliglaze?
I have not.
It actually works better than the spray on hardscapes but there is a technique as there is with everything.
Have you tried the one that is in a spray can..
No I haven't!
I messed up on a few stainless steel tumblers and when I removed the ink it removed all the white coating. Can I use these on stainless steel tumbler to subliminate after?
You can definitely try it.
Wondering if you've ever used Polygloss coating brand sublimation coating and if so how does it work compared to the brand you used in this video?
I have not. I do want to test some more brands, however.
In regards to the T-shirt since it scorched the cotton, have you tried doing it on a lighter heat setting instead of what the recommended setting was? Was it still scorched if you did?
I haven't tried that.
Would you mind doing something like this for clear glass? I'm most interested in wine bottles. I make wine at home and would love to just sublimate the labels so I don't have to replace the labels every time I reuse the bottle.
I haven't found a coating I like yet but if I do I will try it on clear glass!
Thanks for saving us some time and money....
Happy to help
parchment paper vs butcher paper for heat press shirts and mug press mugs? tia :)
I like butcher paper better. Parchment paper holds moisture in when you want something that allows it to go through.
Please tell me how to seal autographs on a sublimated tumbler
Gosh I am really not sure on that one!
did you try polycrylic? you can buy it at Lowes and Hobby Lobby. Also, you should experiment... maybe it yellowed because you pressed it too long?
I pressed according to the instructions. I have tried polycrylic on wood for sublimation and I did not like it at all.
@@AngieHolden i bought it for canvas. didn't try on anything else yet
Hi Ms. Angie I am getting into sublimation and having a very hard time. I downloaded the ICC Drivers for my ET-2720 have the hipoo ink. However, when I use my polyester item the image does not transfer to the material. I have a Vevor 8 in 1 heat press. Can you please help me figure out what I am doing wrong? Please!!!
First make sure your ink bottles say sublimation ink. There is regular Hiipoo inkjet ink as well.
