Hi Ashley, just wanna say I love these podcasts! I’ve been in the hiring process for about 9 months in the Bay Area (fingers crossed I pass background lol). I have to say I appreciated Halcyon calling out the people who straight up say “No! don’t do it” anytime someone is interested in dispatch.
I’ve had to really just trust my instincts and not let the negative comments overshadow the good. Because if you went off of what ppl online say, you’d think it was the worst job ever. Maybe I’m just on Reddit too much 😂 But whenever I see a thread with 10 comments saying “Run!” it starts to feel like it’s not a joke, but that they truly think it’s not worth pursuing. I’m over here thinking “You’re discouraging the poster from doing the job, and yet… you’re doing it? Clearly there must be some good reasons to”.
