I have to play this song and I’m nervous
Oh, best to you on your upcoming performance! Some things that have always helped me with my nerves is to be sure that I have practiced carefully overall, I've secured all of the tricky sections, and if I'm playing from memory, that my memorization is very solid. Other than that, I remind myself what a privilege it is to play music for others and to have a live audience, so, in spite of the nerves, I try to cherish the moment. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses in their playing and nobody is perfect, so I have realized over the years that I don't need to put any unnecessary pressure on myself. I hope that helps....

Oh! I hope it goes well. I've been very nervous many times in the past, and I found one of the most helpful things to do is just to calmly spend time ironing out the most challenging sections. It's a great way to build confidence from the inside out. Best to you!
can we stay in the first position?
Yes, it is possible to stay in 1st position and play the notes in this piece, however there are a couple of awkward moments such as ms21 where there is a double string crossing within a slur or the grace notes on open E in combination with multiple string crossings all throughout, such as ms2 & 4, etc. Hope that helps.
