seriously wish all the pro players get support so that the scene gets bigger and better. the only thing holding back Tekken is the horrible price pools and lack of sponsorship. hopefully the astro sponsorship causes a ripple effect that will make other companies look at Tekken competitive scene.
Thats exact opposite of Mortal Kombat game They have a lot of money but after 1 or 2 year no one talk about it anymore in the big scene because it’s kinda repetitive (just look at the twitch views of Mkx before mk11 drop) Except with the dlc strats to make the game lives longer

Tekken is probably the only old school fighting game to not stray too far from its original form (Which I believe was Tekken 3 as that was when Harada took the helm). And from there were constant attempts to perfect the formula, and Tekken 7 has just found something special. That has so many people, new and old, unified.

I love Tekken. Growing up with this series since I was 2yrs old has been a blessing. I love Tekken 7 so much, my favorite Fighter right now. I've grown to love all the FGC and play so many Fighting games. But Tekken7 is on another level right now. ITS SO DAME HYPE!

I grew up with Tekken as a major casual, used to love doing shitty combos and abusing 10 hit strings on my brothers. I'm glad I never gave up on this game even when my brothers did, would have never found such a great community around it.

Absolutely. Can't tell you how many times my heart's stopped because a 8 second slow mo. I completely agree, especially because it's not a zoning spam fest like injustice and how mk11s meta is right now. Tekken feels like your watching actual mix martial arts. As each character brings their own flavor.

MK11 was so weird because most of the matches leading up to to 8 was dominated by geras and then in the actual top 8, all the geras players got slapped.
Yeah. The game is still fresh as hell tho. No doubt a lot changes and improvements will be coming in the near future to promote character diversity. I personally play Kollector and wreck with him lol.
I agree with you both. Most tournament players use S teir characters to increase their chances of winning. So I gotta give respect to people like Honeybee for using Davorah. Foxy with Kung Lao, and ESPECIALLY Semiji. He played out his mind, out spacing dragons Cetrion with Kitana. It was beautiful

I don't really play Tekken, at least not as much as some other 3D games. I don't have Tekken 7, I've never played it, I probably never _will_ play it. But goddamn, the game is _so_ much to watch, and the soundtrack is _fucking incredible_ .
To be honest Tekken should be on its way to be the main event at most tournaments. People will always prefer to watch the hardest and most technical game played at its very high level. Plus its getting more and more internationnal treat attendance wich give tournaments the hype it needs. sfiv days were about usa vs japan, now its usa vs korea.
A lot of fighting games are more fun to play than to watch. Street Fighter V and Dragon Ball FighterZ come to mind. Tekken 7 and Smash are the exception, since they're both fun to play AND watch.

As much as Tekken is the best fighting game out right now, it has to be said that Aris himself is a big reason why the scene is so hype right now. His commentary makes the best tournament moments twice as good. His commentary on Lil Majin v JDCR and on Knee v Anakin was golden.

To make it more hype, I would say add more viried characters, new fighting styles. We got a good boxer, now, how about a kick-boxing character? For when T8 should come, I would say in 2 years for the arcade, maybe 3 for consoles, it would keep the ball rolling without feeling like they’re milking it again :) maybe if bandai has the time they could make it in time for ps5 and all that, tho I doubt it :/

Tekken 6 left such a bad taste in my mouth and was so disappointed. So I went to Japan about 4 months before Tekken 7 released on consoles and I played it in the arcades and knew that it was going to be special. Soon as I got back to the states, I preordered the game and season pass. This game is getting all of my support and I can’t wait for season 3. Then when this game starts to die out we’ll finally get Tekken x Street Fighter and hopefully it’ll be just as successful.
Playing Tekken 2 on the ps1, I’ll never forget those memories and been following Tekken ever since. Although I’m disappointed with Tekken 7 as an whole package I am happy it’s killing the fighting game scene this era. Especially considering how it was the red headed child during t6/ttt2 days
I struggle to play & learn games with bad online. Tekken is sick but I've heard the online & offline environment are completely different. I live in an area with no local scene for hours. The best way to improve is through online & I enjoy that most with good netcode like MK11

Delay based makes it difficult to enjoy at times along with people playing very differently in offline vs online settings. Games with good netcode: KI, MK11, IJ2, Skullgirls. Everything else is subpar and much more noticeable even when both players are wired. I just find it hard to be interested in learning a game like that by only online means not to mention the long load times for Tekken.

It's because of his simplicity. From day one everyone had a solid Geras and since a lot of people played him everyone understood his game plan.

Imo it's the best netcode from any tekken I've played. 1 out of every 10 matches might have connection issues for me.

tekken is the only fighting game i like, sf5 makes no sense, mk11 makes no sense, but tekken does, it does all the things every other fighting game doesn't.
I've been playing since I was 5 years old the first one for me was Tekken 3 and Tekken is the best fighting game series by far I cant stand when people try telling me Tekken is shit when the tournaments and community has so many people I think people these days are just to fucking stupid to understand or play advanced games or fighting games in general I really want to start going to big tournaments but idk how to make a name for my self and I have that small advantage over most because I've played every single game since they have came out but T7 is so different for me I hope they bring back the staple shit for all the Tekken games in T8 music stages storyline team battle replay after each round it is so unsatisfying to me that there is no replay after each round on T7 I just hope we get T8 and not shitty tag 3.

If they keep putting scrub spam characters like Jack 7 infront of bizaz characters like akuma the game will slip into obscurity whence it came.
