1:13-This moment is particularly heartstring-pulling, because it show's Orion's true character. He's on death's door, no doubt in unbearable agony, but in spite of that, his thoughts are for his friend. He can see that D-16 is slipping away, that he's giving into hate, that he's on the verge of becoming at _least_ as big of a monster as Sentinel was, if not worse, and tries to pull him back. But it is too late; D-16 dies in shame and agony, and the monster is born with eyes of red and the discarding of brotherhood. Megatron sends Orion Pax hurtling to his demise, not knowing that his rage and apathy have, in turn, given birth to his truly greatest enemy: Optimus Prime.
The thing that makes this Megatron so compelling is that unlike other previous Megatrons proudly gloating about how evil they are, this one...completely lacks self-awareness. He literally can't comprehend how he's the bad guy here. He killed a tyrant and destroyed his kingdom, and he's the one getting banished for it? D-16 thinking Orion was siding with Sentinel and had betrayed him, when really Orion wasn't trying to save Sentinel from him: he was trying to save D-16 from himself.
Orion knows about it, but he believes there are more justice better than violent. But for megatron there is no better than violence that fit the situation of sentinel's betrayal.
Optimus believes in violence, he is a warrior that fights for what is right. What Optimus doesn't believe in is cruelty and sadism. Optimus probably believed that Sentinel deserved to be judged by the people of Cybertron and then executed for his horrible actions (which is a violent act) but he didn't want to brutally kill Sentinel with his own hands in front of the people who are supposed to see him as a fair leader and the light of justice and hope. Optimus is NOT a pacifist. He is always willing to use violence against people who deserve it to bring peace and freedom.
I knew that D's betray is inevitable, but I did not expect it to be like this. Me and a friend of mine watched this and could not believe that the betrayal would be like this. It was heartbreaking and all the more memorable.
I got chills this whole scene. Megatrons fusion cannon sound, his eyes going from yellow to yellow red and then to fully red, it all shows his transitioning of becoming megatron so perfectly

We basically see that hate and anger that twisted D-16's programming instantly age him as he makes that final descent into the tyranny that is Megatron.
'Don't be like Sentinel'. I think whatever chance Orion had at actually defusing the situation was lost when he said that, because D-16 was probably thinking 'Are you really comparing me to the guy who forcefully removed half of our population's Cogs before we were born?'. At that point, D-16 didn't want to listen to anything Orion would say after that.
What I adore most about D-16's fall from grace into becoming Megatron is this bit here from 1:00-1:23. What can make some villains so terrifying are the glimpses of humanity they can show in their vulnerability, but completely repress it because their desires outweigh any natural compassion. It's beyond eerie considering you can immediately empathize with D-16's turmoil from being used all these years by Sentinel, making it heartbreaking when he goes through with that inevitable act of letting his close friend die.

Orion Pax’s warning to D-16 not to become like Sentinel is a profound moment. It’s almost as if Orion inadvertently created Megatron through those words-his good intentions led D-16 to a darker path. While D-16 fights for what he believes is right, he’s unfairly compared to a betrayer like Sentinel. This scene really highlights how easily good intentions can misfire, resulting in tragic consequences
In a different version of this story, one where Orion still becomes Optimus D dives to catch Orion, but at the last moment, his hand slips The rage at having constantly saved Orion was replaced with sorrow for losing his best friend, his brother As he turns to face Sentinel, he points his cannon at the traitor, and prepares to fire But all the hatred, all the anger, it can’t compare to the sorrow, and more importantly, the future that Orion fought so hard for D holds his fire, and calls the High Guard to help escort Sentinel to the mines for holding D, alongside B and Elita stand at the edge, mourning the loss of their friend Meanwhile, Orion falls down to the core of Cybertron, all the way down to the spark of Primus himself There, he is acknowledged by the sparks of the primes, and the spark of Primus, as someone worthy of becoming a prime, someone worthy of the matrix, and so it is bestowed onto him Orion Pax is rebuilt, and becomes Optimus Prime, before being sent back up to Iacon Upon his return, he was ready to face D in a battle to decide the future of Cybertron But instead of a fight, Optimus is met with joy from both Elita and B, while D just stands in amazement and awe, at a true Prime standing before him, and that true Prime is his best friend no less As Optimus looks over at D, D breaks down, he falls to his knees crying, saying how he thought Orion was gone forever, how he was sorry, how he didn’t mean to hurt his friend But Optimus simply walks up, places a hand on D’s shoulder, and tells him that it’s okay, that he’s okay, that THEY are okay The brothers hug, happy to be reunited, before D asks about the matrix, to which Optimus explains how he fell and met Primus, and how he’d have to tell D what it was like sometime D chuckles, before deciding that for what he’s done, the actions he took, he needs to be punished, and tells Optimus to arrest him Optimus refuses however, and says that instead of imprisonment, as punishment for his actions, D must spend the rest of his days in servitude, to the people of Cybertron, and he must help drive back the Quintessons D, with a smile on his face, kneels down and says he will serve out this sentence willingly After the Energon is returned, Optimus leads the people of Cybertron into a new golden age, with Elita and B at his side, and D as commander of the High Guard, the Transformers are united, and led into a new golden age
Seeing the once warm golden eyes of D-16's warm golden eyes turning to the blood red eyes of Megatron. Giving into the rage and hatred within his Spark, D-16 sacrified any ounce of humanity left inside him. Embracing the darkness, only a future built by burning everything to the ground. D-16 is no longer there, only the tyrant known as Megatron was born.

This scene hit so hard for me since I lost a great college friend recently
I'm sorry for your loss my friend.
Already got an edit for this scene ready, just got some more planned to release first
“I’m done saving you”
In that moment. The iconic villain known as Megatron was born
In a different version of this story, one where Orion still becomes Optimus
D dives to catch Orion, but at the last moment, his hand slips
The rage at having constantly saved Orion was replaced with sorrow for losing his best friend, his brother
As he turns to face Sentinel, he points his cannon at the traitor, and prepares to fire
But all the hatred, all the anger, it can’t compare to the sorrow, and more importantly, the future that Orion fought so hard for
D holds his fire, and calls the High Guard to help escort Sentinel to the mines for holding
D, alongside B and Elita stand at the edge, mourning the loss of their friend
Meanwhile, Orion falls down to the core of Cybertron, all the way down to the spark of Primus himself
There, he is acknowledged by the sparks of the primes, and the spark of Primus, as someone worthy of becoming a prime, someone worthy of the matrix, and so it is bestowed onto him
Orion Pax is rebuilt, and becomes Optimus Prime, before being sent back up to Iacon
Upon his return, he was ready to face D in a battle to decide the future of Cybertron
But instead of a fight, Optimus is met with joy from both Elita and B, while D just stands in amazement and awe, at a true Prime standing before him, and that true Prime is his best friend no less
As Optimus looks over at D, D breaks down, he falls to his knees crying, saying how he thought Orion was gone forever, how he was sorry, how he didn’t mean to hurt his friend
But Optimus simply walks up, places a hand on D’s shoulder, and tells him that it’s okay, that he’s okay, that THEY are okay
The brothers hug, happy to be reunited, before D asks about the matrix, to which Optimus explains how he fell and met Primus, and how he’d have to tell D what it was like sometime
D chuckles, before deciding that for what he’s done, the actions he took, he needs to be punished, and tells Optimus to arrest him
Optimus refuses however, and says that instead of imprisonment, as punishment for his actions, D must spend the rest of his days in servitude, to the people of Cybertron, and he must help drive back the Quintessons
D, with a smile on his face, kneels down and says he will serve out this sentence willingly
After the Energon is returned, Optimus leads the people of Cybertron into a new golden age, with Elita and B at his side, and D as commander of the High Guard, the Transformers are united, and led into a new golden age
This low-key can lead to Transtech tbh. Without eons of war Cybertron can develop so much more.
Best damn scene in any Transformers movie ever right here.
We finally get a good transformers movie and no one goes to see it. :(
tbf the marketing was terrible
And that the Michael Bay movies are the definitive Transformers for the casual moviegoer who are used to explosions, constant action and hyper-detailed character designs. the traditional boxy design and human-like faces probably turned off a lot of movieverse fans 😔
Right? I was the only person in the audience for the screening I went to. I was really expecting there to be a lot more of a crowd.
Tons of people went to see it (also there's been good Transformers movies, c'mon now).
0:10 - 0:23 God DAMN....i could practically feel the rage, pain, betrayal, and sadness mix in D16 voice
The voice actor for him killed it throughout this entire movie
This scene like D-16 full on Anakin that turn to the dark side.
It's true that there is a similarity between these two. But unlike D-16, Anakin was left for dead on Mustafa by Obiwan.
The birth of Megatron, the death of Orion, and the rise of Optimus Prime. Honestly they did a good job of creating an origin for these two. In media we mostly just see the fight happening in the middle, so it was nice to see the beginning of the war
Thx for the clip
Megatron sparing Starscreams life was probably the last shred of mercy D-16 possessed
I was half-tempted to scream in the theater "PAX, NO!!" When D-16 fired his cannon a second time.
I knew D-16 would eventually be ome Megatron in this film...but I never thought their fates would be sealed at the end of a cannon shot.
The signs of their fates were as clear as ever...but this film delivered.
That line, just before D-16 let him fall....
"I'm done saving you."
That shouldn't have hit me so hard as it did.
genuinely, megatron was right. sentinel was too evil to live. too many hidden followers.
That's how rivary goes. What's your best friend, but it becomes your enemy.
1:07 you just know that if cybertronians could shed tears D would be crying a river there
Ladybug: “Listen, I’m sorry about Tangerine”
Lemon: “I’ve got another brother now”
Ladybug: “Really?”
Lemon: “…F**k No!”
Megatron: "We were Brothers Once!"
Optimus prime: "Once"
"We were brothers once!"
"Once."
-MLP
Celestia: We’re better than this. Don’t be like Sombra.
Luna: Celestia, you need to move out of my way, before I move you myself.
Nightmare Moon: We were sisters once!
Celestia: Once.
If they ever made an MLP prequel movie like TF1 about Celestia and Luna that touched on their sisterhood, their falling out, and Luna's banishment I'd definitely go watch it in theaters ngl
@@yesandnogamerproductions5733 Right?! Remember when memories of The Crystal Empire were limited, when it vanished from existence? Imagine the stories of King Sombra & Nightmare Moon turning out to be connected. The Crystal Empire was the capital of Equestria before Canterlot. And the two sisters worshiped King Sombra as their leader, until they discovered the truth that he betrayed The Pillars for all the power of Equestria. Causing Princess Luna to develop the same motivation against him, D-16 had against Sentinel, resulting in her becoming Nightmare Moon!
The way D's eyes changed from amber to red the moment he stopped helping OP...
Going to watch the movie in theaters one more time.
D-16: you wreklessy threw away your life Pax
Orion: No... D. You did
This is why you chose your words wisely
Absolutely amazing vocal performance and animation.
At that moment D-16 was no more and Megatron was born 1:22
0:50 You can see the pain on Orion's face as he gets shot.
1:17 d-16... We're brothers... 🥺
Were... And I'm done saving you. 😡
This was the moment d-12 became Megatron
I don't blame D, he's got a whole damn reason to be a villain
1:20 it was at that moment, D-16 died, and Megatron was born. The best friends/brothers Pax and D-16 were ended.
You can tell how much it hurt D-16 when Orion compared him to Sentinel Prime.
The shot heard 'round the world.
The Coldest line in the Movie. Change my mind
This was the moment that D-16 died, and Megatron was born.
bumblebee's face when orion got shot
I can't imagine a universe where Megatron is Miles's Dad.
Megatron would take miles to school like in Into the Spider-Verse, but he tells Miles to say: "Rise up" instead up of "I love you" before Miles says no and Megatron pulls his Fusion cannon to Miles' face while giving him the glare he shows in the post credit scene of TF One. And he says: "Say "Rise Up" or I will make you say it myself."
Miles(Frightened): "Rise up."
1:20 The death of D-16
1:23 The birth of Megatron
That was the moment D-16 died, and he was killed by Megatron.
Momento en que las salas de cines quedaron en silencio.
It will never stop being heartbreaking how orion was trying to save D16 from going down a path he couldn't return from
That day D-16 died and was born...Megatron
1:18 I’m done saving you
I think this could have changed if Orion/Optimus found the right words. He meant extremely well, but you can tell he struggled here.
0:11 “SO DO I” PEAK VA
I swear his eyes turn fully red for a split second right as he fires the first shot
There is No More D-16, There is Only Megatron!!!
