Got my first horse last Christmas 🎄 I cried like a baby. Best horse I could've ever ask for.
Fun fact, I convinced my mother to get me a horse right after I got a concussion. I was basically in a confused daze and couldn't remember anything. All I remembered was that I had a riding lesson later which showed her how passionate about it :)
Moral of the story. Get a concussion so you can get a horse.

My bike was my "horse" most of my childhood lol I even had "reins" tied to the handle bars and could ride it just by holding on to them. Needless to say, my real horse is much better. But I did get plenty of practice using my imagination!
Omg my friend took the head off of her rocking her horse and taped it on her bike and taped brown yarn as a tail and i asked my parents but they said no 😝

Me every year. Last year they bought bags of candy and tried to make me guess the actual gift. I thought the first letters would spell out « horse » or their name but it spelled out « Paris » Not quite what I expected and even less fun when it got canceled cuz of covid

One year for christmas my mom rented a horse and then I thought it was mine... I think it made me sadder.

If there wasn't a probability or potential of following through another year if you enjoyed it enough, maybe should have not rented. Or been way clearer that it was just a one time rental with a firm end date. Although... I secretly would have hoped my parent was just saying that and it was a trial period and I would get the bigger surprise later when we got along great! And of course the let down when I learned it was just a fantasy. Yeah, sometimes the kindest thing is not to rent...

when I was in second grade, my best friend asked me if I wanted to save up for a horse and then we could share it. so little me found all the pennies I could and put them in a jar at her house. Now, 6 years later, she and I both have a horse and we both ride every day together!

I was in hospital for an operation and I couldn’t do anything but My Mum actually got me a black thoroughbred which is really really surprising and so I also followed your steps and they actually worked 😂

I really really want one and my dad for to ride horses when he was little bit I guess I'm not getting one. I added my mom if I could at least work at a barn but she said no.
That's what it's been like every year for me. Sometimes it's a horse, sometimes it's a dog. After 10 years of disappointment on Christmas day I gave up asking. This Christmas my parents are getting me a puppy. We just went to visit her for the first time today. We're getting her a week before Christmas day. I can already tell she's going to be the best dog ever! 💕
This was my life growing up! Every. Stinking. Year! BUT, my parents knew how badly I wanted one so they bought me my first horse as an adult. So just wait kiddos!
Lol same thing happened to me! I begged for one every Christmas, which also is My b-day, so it was a hard blow every time. My parents pittied me after seeing how much of a hopeless equestrian I was my whole life, and now I have a beautiful pinto mare

They are my parents got us a horse they did it so sneaky. They gave us a bunch of tack and grooming supplies and said the reason was because a friend of the family who had horses said we could ride whenever we wanted but only if we had our own tack and supplies. Then they were like “well let’s go drop everything off at the barn” and when we got there our horse was there with a big bow on her stall. We were all surprised and thrilled!

True story: I wanted a horse so badly when I was a kid and asked for one so frequently, one time my mom said she had a surprise for me and I thought it was a horse. Turns out it was just to go see a horse movie in the theater-- I think Black Beauty? I was so disappointed and I relived it all with this video LOL ;-)

On December 17th of 2020 I was told by my father that we needed to get me some mucking boots and that's when he told me we got 3 horses 2 quarter horses and one paint horse there names are Dixie , molly and sapphire I love them so much!!!

I have a stick horse I named Eggnog. We won a medallion for my team in "dressage" last year. It was a local winter Olympic themed geocache thing. They had contests representing various Olympic sports. For equestrian they took 3 day eventing and separated the 3 days. I was one of the few who took the entry seriously rather than goofy, or maybe I just had more real experience. When points were added up from all the sports, my team did win. But yeah, an adult doing stick horse dressage was pretty funny. I have the video on my TH-cam channel, but it's set to private. I don't want certain types of individuals to "enjoy" it. 🤨

I got my first horse as a cristmas present this year on the first of december!
I wrote in a journal horse expenses (i tried to make them sound cheap), i asked for a horse everyday ( until my parents threatened to take my phone away), i did chores all day long (except for my parents didn't notice), tried to watch horsey stuff for them to want a horse too (it annoyed them and banned me from watching heartland)!!!!! And the worst part is... i still dont have horse!!!!!!!!!

That's about right. My dad bought property and fixed it up to sell. He liked to bring us for our opinion if someone would want to live there. I was too young to understand fully, so I was typically disappointed later. He wasn't asking us as if he meant to move. When I got horse crazy and he brought us to see this big house with alot of land, yeah. That was rough. I don't know anymore if it was such a great thing that they indulged me in other ways. Little things about me give me lower earning potential. I'll be 40 this year and I can't even afford lessons. I'm glad to get some horse time volunteering at a therapeutic riding program, but this isn't what I imagined for age 40. At this point no one is going to surprise me with a gift horse. It's relegated to "one day." At this point I also wonder if it's a good idea at all because maybe this is all just still too much of a fantasy and I don't know what the reality will be like for me. I have a few years experience handling horses besides riding lessons, but still. Maybe I won't like it and the horse won't have a good home with me and I will have wasted 30 years of my life on this interest that I should have let go of 30 years ago like every other girl for whom this is just a phase. Mid-life crisis, anyone? I know, I know, if I lease first the horse wouldn't be stuck with me. I have a horse fund, but I keep having to take money from it.

This is what my parents& family did to me! And I still don't have a real horse 😭 and I'm in my 30s.they even got me tack and riding lessons. But never a horse.
It didn't matter how passionate I was. My parents didn't do anything for me related to horses lol just got books and little figures. That's ok though I just do everything I wanted to do as an adult :)
