Figure Note:
Stop-Motion Transformation of XTransbots MX-28 Fast and MX-29 Fury. More different than I had guessed. I initially thought I would transform them simultaneously. But after Fury got here I realized they had some substantial differences. It seemed a shame to break up littermates, so I went ahead with the single video concept. Be wary of those narrow pegs on Fury’s back wheels, particularly when plugging them down for backpack mode. I thought about showing the inner thigh flaps as a separate step, but really when you collapse the legs on either one of them, it automatically shoves those flaps out of the way. Fury’s transformation seems a bit cleaner, so I wonder if he was designed second. They definitely scaled up the Lotus Elise a bit so it would be the same size as the Pontiac Firebird, which oddly enough makes the Lotus taller which it certainly wouldn’t be in real life. Fury had a couple of joints that were so tight they had to be loosened a bit. Biggest hassle was the transformation joint on one of his front wheel covers - I had to disassemble the foot to get to that screw to loosen it.

Viewing Note:
If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.

This video has gotten me pumped up to get mine in.
Interesting that XTB, a designer notorious for their complex and convoluted transformations, should do a toy based on two figures whose whole gimmick was how fast they transformed.
All 3p transformations look very convoluted to me.
Like I'd admittedly prefer seeing stop motion transformations like these compared to transforming one in hand- I'd rage quit very hard
I bought Fast and he's actually very good. I've never liked any previous X-Transbots releases I've owned (usually sold them on eBay at a big loss) but I love this one. The transformation is actually fairly intuitive and fun once you've done it a few times.
*WOOSH* -the concept of simple carformers flying over XTB
It's their whole schtick.
How do they feel to transform and pose in hand? I kinda like Runamuck and Runabout for there unique "normal car" modes, but I tend to be wary of XTB. Very like of them to include alt-interior detials that you can barely see when the door is open.
They're decent. XTB tends to need a hobbyist's touch to adjust the screws and there are things that don't seem to want to go but they do when you do it right.
“You can’t stop motion transform family.” Or something IDK I’ve only seen the first F&F movie.
AWESOME!!!!!
Very clean transition been vehicle modes!
I have to ask…how did X transbots manage to make twin decepticons but one is way easier to transform than the other?
The black one seems a bit more evolved than the white one.
@@peolesdru did you run into the front quarter panels being super tight on the black one? I had to take mine apart and grease the joint before finishing the feet on mine.
@@Kylorin235 Yup! I describe exactly that in the video description! I didn't use any lube since it was just a tight screw.
Very cool video peolesdru
Awsome ✨️😀
I like the fake wheels on the feet
On average, how much time is required for you to create these videos for 3rd party figures? What is the most complicated transformation you've ever completed?
Depending on complexity, it takes from 1.5 - 3 hours to shoot the photos and another 1.5 to 2 hours to produce the video. It's hard to pick a most complex, but any of the complex triple-changers (to include combiners) come to mind. Recent ones being Transage Guangqi and Metagate Red Fantasy.
These times don't include all the time I spend learning the figure and determining the best sequence.
@@peolesdru understood. It was a broad question. Thanks for your work. The videos are very helpful.
👍👍
I'm confused by the one tire in alt mode and two tires in bot mode on his feet.
That's how their G1 toys worked, and it got incorporated into their in-universe designs. X-Transbots just had to use some faux parts to make them look right.
Same deal with the roof and windshield assembly. The version in vehicle mode isn't accurate to the robot mode design, hence why there's the ACTUAL robot mode chest underneath.
I *really* don’t like how they did the feet. It’s like the second Masterpiece Bumblebee all over again.
The black car has tidier feet, but I see your point.
Runabout kinda looks like Wildrider in car mode. I have Primus but I haven't done anything with him yet. Just kind of sitting in his box till I get some space cleaned up for him. Kind of want him to be on the other side of my room, looking at Unicron. Omega Prime is pretty close to the second unlock bonus. I don't honestly care if it gets there, it's just the stands, what I was really hopping for was the sword and that's unlocked.
