Actually, from a physics standpoint, it is the aerodynamics of the ball traveling through the air, is why spin causes the ball to drop with topspin. Gravity pulls on all objects with the same acceleration. Just saying.
Watching Ana progress from a novice to an advanced player has been so fascinating. We generally just see two kinds of people on courts. People who know what they're doing or people who have no idea. But here we can see the journey from the latter to the former.

Great vid Nikola, this is the best Anna's forehand has looked. Super smooth over the last 7 minutes. Favourite part was you telling Anna about your Q&A and she started hitting it so well 😂
I just started my Tennis journey to start being active again. Your video is very helpful to beginner. I've watched them a lot and applied it in my game. My friend even surprised how fast I was improving. Thank you very much coach! You are like a personal coach to me!

I’m glad you mentioned how it’s not like turning a doorknob. A lot of other coaches will try to tell you to hit that way but it seems like a good way to get hurt like you mentioned.
The funniest part was when you started chatting about something a little different and she hit perfect shots the whole time. As soon as she stopped focusing on it directly, the topspin shot appeared.
my coach actually does this with me! she'll start talking about something else completely and that's when i actually start hitting the correct form or shot. i think it's a great technique for people who really struggle with loosing focus!

One of the best recommendations on the forehand that I've heard is to maintain the wrist static though contact, swinging from the shoulder. You only release the wrist and elbow after contact. All my problems were solved.
The difference between her forehand today and her first match. Wow.. clean ground stroke and she has really good form and footwork once you started feeding her balls.
straight back old school has way more power. you have to be a pro hitting every day to get a whoop hit with the same power. it's still great you get these lesson up here. for me it's a lesson in coaching. thank you both.

Great video of showing top spin. There was a time where my shots were almost all flat shots. Slowing my shot down allowed me to drop my racket lower, therefore creating more top spin on my ball and have great control and incredible feel. This video felt very nostalgic for me when I was still learning how to hit with consistency.
@@12GaugePadawan Hate to say it, but I am different Samir. XD not the one in yt videos. Though the Shamir in video lessons helped me a lot with coaching other students as well.
The advice that stuck with me from some video was you can only know where the ball is going to go if you can stay aware of the racket face during the swing. I think Kevin garlington said it during a serve video. I loved that advice. Made me think the pros only swing at a speed which is still slow to them but beyond what I can do now.
He's allowing her to let her left arm dangle to her side. Have to hold the off arm up at shoulder level straight as if you're gonna catch ball with off hand. this helps to line up shoulders.
Another great video and I love the series with Anna. I'm also starting to study and learn how to generate topspin but I remember you saying that having a horizontal approach to the ball can still allow you to generate topspin. I hope you could make a video about horizontal approach and topspin because I don't feel comfortable with the vertical approach. Thank you!

At 4.23min you are saying that gravity is pulling the ball downwords, but that is equal to a flat ball. The reason that a topspin ball is diving more than a flat ball is caused by the Magnuseffect.
My worst decision when it comes to tennis is, loosen the wrist completely, 2 month of pain from a single afternoon of hitting xD will try again today, without the wrist crap xD
@@thecatvirusgotme889 well, maybe it’s me, but my head speed didn’t change much, judging from the depth and the practice partner didn’t feel any extra pace, I felt lesser control though, normally I just let my wrist do it’s own thing, but intentionally loosening them did not help me, coming back from yesterday’s session, my wrist is just fine, I didn’t think about it and my forehand got it’s accuracy back, and my backhand got it’s proper pace again.
Hi Nick! Thanks for this another great video. I am trying to help my wife to get better contact (in front) seeking to produce heavier balls (her balls are going more like upwards and kind of soft, instead of going deep on the baseline), but I cannot find any useful drills to work with her. You should have a session focused on the legs. She usually hits the ball with an open stance, moving her weight from right to left, instead of back to forward. Bad weight transfer will soak up most of her power. Also seems to have a habit of bending at the waist when she should be bending her knees more to adjust the height of the racket.
Friction between the surface of the ball and the air is greater at the top of the ball than the bottom. I think this is a better explanation as to what’s going on. Has nothing to do with a change in gravity as mentioned at 4:26
Great lesson. I especially like the part where you called her out when she started to overthink the wrist. Everything fell apart. Then you got her mind off of it but talking some kind of nonsense and she started hitting great forehands.
I haven't played in a while, and I find that I struggle taking balls with a lot of spin - I know this is probably to do with my footwork, but, I keep messing it up (especially on the backhand side) - I try to take a few steps back and then accelerate as normal but I can't quite find an effective way of dealing with heavy spin balls....what do I do?
