That's funny I have a 2006 fz6 and I just bought a z125 Kawasaki but I love the FZ too just wanted the small bike to fool around on in town which is much easier than on the FZ

I've had my FZ6 for three years and I'm still impressed by how much power I can squeeze out of it. I went from a 250 to the FZ6 and I was terrified riding it home from the dealership. The only time I want something different is when I'm on a long ride. It's not very comfortable after a hundred miles.

This just came across my feed. Love how stoked you are over the FZ6! I just bought one right before winter hit, got the chance to ride it once before the snow fell. Think I hit 92mph in 2nd gear. Was definitely smiling ear to ear after that. Can't wait to get an exhaust on her and explore around. Bet it's pretty nice not feeling the need to floor it just about everywhere you went on the 125. 2004 Fz6 came out in the USA I bought mine that year. I had a blast on that thing. Super quiet. But very powerful smooth ride. You are right the power is on the top end. Still my favorite ride of all time.

I remember that exact feeling 30 years ago, coming from a Suzuki gp100 to a Suzuki gsxf600, it was immense. To be honest I still get the same buzz from riding today and I must admit the little Fazer 6 pleasantly surprised me even as I own a zx9r and zzr1100 too. Mine is completely standard and I bought it for touring on so I'll leave it as it is. Your orange and black one looks amazing too.👍 Ace video, I'll definitely subscribe to see more. I love my Fz6. It's a great all around bike. It's fun and practical. The only bike I've had that I might like more is the Honda 919 Hornet. Fun watching you enjoy your first ride.

Old post but so relevant! Just a tiny bit past 30+ years from now, just after a Honda z50, got my license and the first proper motorcycle. A FZ6 it was.. Still feeling it and don't know what to change for.. 👌
The difference is amazing, once you move up to 600cc+ you realise that 125cc is nothing more than moped, approaching corners and long powerful gears takes a little time to adjust to, you have to respect the power and most of all think safety at all times, people moan about how much training and how many tests are involved with motorcycles, but it’s all to prepare riders to be as safe as possible,

Went from a Honda Varadero 125 to a 2005 Fazer FZ6 600. I giggled like a school girl going down a dual carriageway. Took it to a ton and bloody hell. I love the sensation.
On a 125,,got my theory in 2 weeks,then get cracking with my mod1 and mod2,,have just been on 2 of these,,my local bike shop dealer said there great bikes to learn off,,this is a deffo contender some time very soon,stay safe riding👍
Nice new bike and well done, picking up my new ninja 300 this week, just did my A2 last week (after months of riding a cbf125 on a cbt), can't wait. Your insurance must be crazy too with a 600cc and aftermarket exhaust, I was tempted to get a restricted mt07, or a slip on for ninja but it will cost too much extra
I felt the same way about trying my FZ6N for the first time, two weeks later just got my motorcycle license (A), cant wait for it to stop raining to really do more than 500m on this bike!
I went from a 125 to a Yamaha MT03 (660 single). I have fond memories of when I passed my A2 being like "This has infinite power". 125's really are a class of their own.

Seeing as you live in manchester, its probably worth taking that bike to the three sisters track near wigan. me and my mate are on a2 atm, went there for their charity rideouts and you find out so much more about your bike; only negative is you'll be hooked.
I've got one and they are all good bruv. with a few mods you will find it will keep up with the R6 of the same year. A great choice of machine I've had mine 5 years now and I'm still happy
DanTheTwoWheeler I've done quite a bit to mine and it does keep up with them. mine will sit at 160 all day long it's running at 110 bhp with 52 lbs/ ft torque. I've got a pcv and a remap done by dynojet an open sp engineering slip-on cans the same as you have, a modified Airfilter box with k&n Airfilter. my fz6 is the s2 version there are a few changes to the model you have but it's one he'll of a fun bike even after 5 years it still scares me lol. oh yeah a quatrefoil turn throttle makes a he'll of a difference in the power delivery. Have fun on it bruv. I have done a lot more than I've listed to keep it exciting but the misses moaning at me kept me from spending more on it.
A tip on the mirrors as they are the same as the sfv650, loosen the nut attached to the handlebars and rotate the entire mirror so the head has some play to it. Then get some handlebar ones 👍
Good video, buddy first time I've come across ur channel, because of ur yam 125' , I've gone a circle in the opposite direction ,, I'm an old feller ,,Birthday tomorrow 54, in the last 14 yrs had 3 super black birds , Hyabusa , 4 Fireblades etc etc a few gixers, and my last 2 bikes were a triumph 1050 speed triple and Zx10r (107) in first ,,mph,,, on the rev limiter ,,, just to put u in the pic ,,, 9 months ago had a heart attack and have been out of work for nearly 8 months, only got 72 quid a wk for 4 months off the state then no money for the next 5 so the wife supported me and money's been tight , so sold a lot of personal belongings to survive and my bike was one 4 months ago ,, my 30 odd yr old Daughter gave me 500quid to buy a 50cc scooter ,, does 45 mph,, anyhow my son is selling me his 125 Yamaha in couple of months and I'm gonna buy it for commuting,, 2 miles to a job that I recently started so that's how I came across your vids,, good luck with the new bike,, problem is you soon get used to power and if your not careful you end up chasing the dragon ,, and wanted more and more ,, guess it's human nature to be greedy ,, anyhow stay safe Shane ,,, Midlands uk 🇬🇧

I love the look of the fz6. I went from a 125 to a zx6r, didn’t like the zx6r so bought a Bandit 600. I think the Bandit is great but fz6 ticks all the boxes for me.
I think this is gonna be my first bike when I get my licence, (which the corona virus made impossible for me, already had my examn planned😡😡😡) the looks and the sound are just spot on...
If you get yourself a polarising filter, cut a bit out, stick it over your speedo, then cut another piece out, rotate it 90 degrees, and stick it on your gopro lens. :) The speedo will look black and everything else will be normal.

Brother man. Nice honest vid. Just a word of advice and for your safety. Always and I mean always have atleast one finger on front brakes and your rear break covered. Whether going around corners trail breaking or in resedential areas especially. Don't be caught grabbing a handful 💪
So, bought a 2004 FZ6. What’s the story with the throttle? Trying to thread in and out of traffic or doing a standing start, there’s nothing smooth about low revs build-up, it jumps and jerks. It’s a bit disconcerting, like trying to ride an untamed stallion.
Hmm I'm not too sure about that tbh I didn't really have the same issues on the 2006 model. Perhaps try searching in forums, see if anyone else can relate to the same issue 👍🏼
Lovely looking bike. Not a fan though of coloured tanks only. Far better to have colour as an overall theme than partial. Not unknown for folk to get tanks sprayed black after
Can't find this anywhere on the internet but is your DAS a "guaranteed" pass like the CBT where if you fail go retake it free of charge or do you need to fork out all that money again?
kasai pk you won’t have to pay the full DAS fees, but you will need to pay and book another test fee. Some schools will allow a free retake using their bike but the test fee at the centre still has to be paid. Other schools you’ll have to pay for the hire of the bike again as well as the test fee. As a minimum, test fee only. Maximum test fee + hire of bike from school

Gotta love going from a 125 to 600. I went from a ybr 125 to a cbr 600. Now I have a fz6, I love it so much comfier to ride than the cbr.

I went from a 125 to a Yamaha MT03 (660 single). I have fond memories of when I passed my A2 being like "This has infinite power". 125's really are a class of their own.

I just got a 2008 FZ6 (North American version) but I cant get a plate yet because of lockdown! so frustrating to only be able to look at her
I felt genuine happiness watching this because this is exactly how I felt, in fact I think we all went through this when we got on our first big boy bike.
PS. My first 600 was also a 2006 naked FZ6.

Seeing as you live in manchester, its probably worth taking that bike to the three sisters track near wigan. me and my mate are on a2 atm, went there for their charity rideouts and you find out so much more about your bike; only negative is you'll be hooked.

I've got one and they are all good bruv. with a few mods you will find it will keep up with the R6 of the same year. A great choice of machine I've had mine 5 years now and I'm still happy
+Ray Tokens Yeah around town or even upto 70/80mph I reckon its the same speed as an R6
DanTheTwoWheeler I've done quite a bit to mine and it does keep up with them. mine will sit at 160 all day long it's running at 110 bhp with 52 lbs/ ft torque. I've got a pcv and a remap done by dynojet an open sp engineering slip-on cans the same as you have, a modified Airfilter box with k&n Airfilter. my fz6 is the s2 version there are a few changes to the model you have but it's one he'll of a fun bike even after 5 years it still scares me lol. oh yeah a quatrefoil turn throttle makes a he'll of a difference in the power delivery. Have fun on it bruv. I have done a lot more than I've listed to keep it exciting but the misses moaning at me kept me from spending more on it.

A tip on the mirrors as they are the same as the sfv650, loosen the nut attached to the handlebars and rotate the entire mirror so the head has some play to it.
Then get some handlebar ones 👍

Good video, buddy first time I've come across ur channel, because of ur yam 125' , I've gone a circle in the opposite direction ,, I'm an old feller ,,Birthday tomorrow 54, in the last 14 yrs had 3 super black birds , Hyabusa , 4 Fireblades etc etc a few gixers, and my last 2 bikes were a triumph 1050 speed triple and Zx10r (107) in first ,,mph,,, on the rev limiter ,,, just to put u in the pic ,,, 9 months ago had a heart attack and have been out of work for nearly 8 months, only got 72 quid a wk for 4 months off the state then no money for the next 5 so the wife supported me and money's been tight , so sold a lot of personal belongings to survive and my bike was one 4 months ago ,, my 30 odd yr old Daughter gave me 500quid to buy a 50cc scooter ,, does 45 mph,, anyhow my son is selling me his 125 Yamaha in couple of months and I'm gonna buy it for commuting,, 2 miles to a job that I recently started so that's how I came across your vids,, good luck with the new bike,, problem is you soon get used to power and if your not careful you end up chasing the dragon ,, and wanted more and more ,, guess it's human nature to be greedy ,, anyhow stay safe Shane ,,, Midlands uk 🇬🇧

In 3rd gear my fz6 will do 125 mph. 95mph in 2nd and 65 mph in 1st. It feels crazy after riding a cb125f for 2 years.
I love the look of the fz6. I went from a 125 to a zx6r, didn’t like the zx6r so bought a Bandit 600.
I think the Bandit is great but fz6 ticks all the boxes for me.
I think this is gonna be my first bike when I get my licence, (which the corona virus made impossible for me, already had my examn planned😡😡😡) the looks and the sound are just spot on...

If you get yourself a polarising filter, cut a bit out, stick it over your speedo, then cut another piece out, rotate it 90 degrees, and stick it on your gopro lens. :)
The speedo will look black and everything else will be normal.
+DanCousins Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking of doing, been looking for some.of them old 3D glasses might try and use them. Unless someone wants to send me some free polarising filter 😁

Brother man. Nice honest vid. Just a word of advice and for your safety. Always and I mean always have atleast one finger on front brakes and your rear break covered. Whether going around corners trail breaking or in resedential areas especially. Don't be caught grabbing a handful 💪
So, bought a 2004 FZ6. What’s the story with the throttle? Trying to thread in and out of traffic or doing a standing start, there’s nothing smooth about low revs build-up, it jumps and jerks.
It’s a bit disconcerting, like trying to ride an untamed stallion.
Hmm I'm not too sure about that tbh I didn't really have the same issues on the 2006 model. Perhaps try searching in forums, see if anyone else can relate to the same issue 👍🏼
Lovely looking bike. Not a fan though of coloured tanks only. Far better to have colour as an overall theme than partial. Not unknown for folk to get tanks sprayed black after

Can't find this anywhere on the internet but is your DAS a "guaranteed" pass like the CBT where if you fail go retake it free of charge or do you need to fork out all that money again?
kasai pk you won’t have to pay the full DAS fees, but you will need to pay and book another test fee. Some schools will allow a free retake using their bike but the test fee at the centre still has to be paid. Other schools you’ll have to pay for the hire of the bike again as well as the test fee. As a minimum, test fee only. Maximum test fee + hire of bike from school
