@@ag_064 The one I meant, is to go towards the destination at full speed, if sc assist is enabled, either stay just as much off center or at full throttle, so that the assist does not engage (it would slow you down), then at 7s to the target engage assist until you're about 4ls out, then dip off center or go full throttle for a moment until you're 4s to target, then re-engage assist. Have to agree about passenger ships being poor at passenger missions. Also, this build isn’t really very beginner as it has guardian unlocks and some engineering. If you are just beginning, know that I did these missions in an non-engineered python and had no trouble. Just have a small shield and boost and run if hyperdicted. (Oh, and a small fuel scoop)
Another possibility for the Class 1 slots would be cargo racks; while they don't pay nearly as much, you can also pick up injured personnel which use cargo instead of cabins. Sure, it's just 2 people each, but every station I've been to so far tends to have a few of those "lying around".
Yeah I actually run a split on cargo and passengers. I can take out passengers and escape pods and then return with supplies that the station needs. $$ both ways.
That is the way to go for this game in general. I do everything bit and not just one thing for hours. If i have 3 hours to play i spend 1Hour fighting, 1 hour evac and the last hour pimping my ships a bit more by searching material or visit the engineers. Love my Rescue-Thon! After ferrying a ton of refugees away from the active HIP systems over the last 2 weeks, I decided to build a Beluga to carry more people per run, but its not *nearly* as fun to fly and was not easy to escape Goid Interdictions until I got the Thrusters engineered up to L5 Dirty + Drag Drives. The 'Thon doesn't require as much engineering to have a nice, fast, versatile Rescue Ship.
A hint for the inexperienced: The Python build with the recommended 500m/s boost speed requieres access to Professor Palin. This requires some Thargoid material farming. I´ll now try building this with an Orca, as this only requires access to Felicity Farseer.
For rescue, I usually use the Dolphin. Most of the time, I don't have to use a heat sink at all inside of a burning station. The Dolphin hull stays cooler than most other ships. Realize that there is less payload, you usually don't sit in the station very long before rescuing the survivors.
Thanks for all the great ED vids! I recently started doing these missions, except I’m more chicken. I do the evacuation missions from Thargoid Watch systems which doesn’t have stations under siege. I still get hyperdicted about 20-30% of the time. My Python people hauler can hold a lot of refugees. I engineered engines to l3 dirty drive tuning. I boost deep into the 400’s and seem to be able to easily outrun the Thargoids. Does dropping heat sinks reduce the chance of hyper diction? If I didn’t run, would they always attack or would they be peaceful if I didn’t target weapons?
Get the Sirius heatsinks, if you can. They're lighter than the extra ammo modified regular heatsinks, and you get a total capacity of 5 heatsinks per launcher instead of 4. And every heatsink helps

Is odyssey worth getting ? I just came back and what i was playing with my Anaconda and Type-10 Defender is now called Legacy Horizon ? I am downloading live Horizon i guess now ? Do I need to DL Odyssey to stay current, I have heard bad things about that DLC.
I'm currently going back and forth between a damaged Coriolis station and a Federation rescue ship in my Anaconda for reputation (though the money is nice too). Is it worth the investment to grab a Python if my main concern is ranking up?
Amazingly the Beluga is even better for these missions for the large stations. Massive fuel tank so no scoop needed and the highest passenger capacity in the game.
Anaconda, 184 passenger seats, 50 LY range, speed 354 but unimportant, never gets hyperdicted on the way out, rarely on the way back but in that case just relog, the higher the distance from rescue ship the higher gets the payment, I make 22-35 mil per trip
I run refugees with my cutter. 160 pax per run. 350 boost outruns most goids and 8A prismatic make the rest irrelevant while I wait for my FSD to cool.
@@Benchmarklab That's what I was thinking. I keep seeing these videos on making "big money" and I keep being amazed at how poorly they pay. I hop into the game, load up 728 tons of silver, jump ~19.73 (one hop), get paid 12-16k per ton depending on exactly where the market is that day. An easy 12-14 million per trip for just a few minutes work. And there is always a 25-40 million per trip route somewhere nearby if I feel like making a few hops to get to it. All these get-rich-quick videos make no sense to me. I do get the role-playing aspect of it. But, let's face it, there's zero chance of losing this war. So I can't get too into it with that knowledge in the back of my head. Kind of like Powerplay. I know that no matter what I do to support my faction the other factions aren't going to be destroyed. And no matter how little I do, my faction isn't going to be destroyed. So it's hard to take it seriously.
I assume this is the new stuff happening in the Live server. I've only started getting back into just the Legacy version. And was also sad to see that a difference between having and not having Horizons, doesn't exist. I don't know if they decided to make that free or not, I haven't been in the elite scene for years.
It seems all the ports i go to are abandoned and theres no one in the passenger lounge, i looked on the map and noticed that all the star systems with thargoids are abandoned. Is this still a viable way to make money?
I hope so. I did loads of evacuation missions on burning stations some months ago and scooping up escape pods or personal effects was great fun in the burning, falling debris. I tried it with collector limpets too - it was much quicker but a lot less fun, and felt like a waste of a module slot.
Am I doing something wrong ? I put in Class 6 Economy passenger cabins and Class 5,4 etc, when I went to the mission board it told me i need 'CARGO' space, so i put in cargo compartments and now i can take injured passengers ? what gives ? So here's what I've discovered ; no need to go to the stations being attacked by thargoids, find the ones with the white flame over them on the map use cargo containers and you get the same missions without the threat of being busted up by thargoids, the payments are the same.
@@DowntoEarthAstronomy Hi Mate, you are no doubt right but you didn't comment on the fact that I couldn't use passenger cabins, I had to use cargo, even at Cartmill Gateway, have you got an explanation for that, is it a glitch or are my files screwed up :) o7 Love your content bro.

Run. No, seriously. Just try to power your way out. Boost, heatsinks and if you have an SLF, send it to attack the sour flowers while you escape. Every second counts while getting the FSD back in order to jump. You'll probably get mass locked by those fuckers so make sure you have a ship that can make around 450 m/s or more to get away easily.
Heatsink and boost is the way. A little side to side dodging can also help them miss shots sometimes if you are also really cold. If your shields are already down, silent running can help in a true emergency but it is a gamble. You can try to go silent and boost and dodge while waiting for FSD charge as a last ditch effort. Silent running also allows you to overheat yourself easily and get rid of corrosive in seconds, so be sure to practice silent running in a safe space before you get in a situation where you really need it.
If they're pursuing and you can't outrun them to escape the masslock, turn 180 degrees, fly at them, skim by and keep boosting. That should give you enough breathing space to enter supercruise.

Do these missions and watch re-buy bankrupt you. 😜
Enable several fleet carriers for people you know, it'll soon rinse it
Would be epic if after thargoid event we could unlock ships like we could build half human half thargoid ship
AX Beginner question please : why is this build only suitable for Scouts and Cyclops please? Why not the other variants? Thx
Everyone is going to be Fleet Carrier wealthy soonest.
2023 update: YoU CaN NoW OwN MuLtiPle CaRrieRs !
I choose materials all the way over everything else they are a pain in the butt to get without spending hours, especially the higher grades.
o7 cmdrs, does doing rescue mission increases your trade rank?
Ive retrofitted my Robigo beluga for humanitarian efforts. It was fun
I’m not seeing any stations to do this at. Is not a thing I can do now? Everything is abandoned
Thanx for good advise!
Question: Is the "Influence" mission reward completely worthless? I was hoping that reward would maximize effects on the Thargoid War progress-bar (as part of the BGS); but based on everyone else's reaction I'm guessing that it doesn't?
It means you gain more influence with the faction that gave the quest
@@haxorsp00n - But wait, isn't that Reputation?
@@noelwade yah my bad I worded that wrong, i meant you are gaining influence for that faction in the system you are turning that quest into
Is odyssey worth getting ?
If you want speed/heaps of boost and decent jump range for these... wouldn't the Krait Phantom be arguably a better option than the python?
how come your hangar is so bright? mine is so dark that any livery seems pointless, since i can barely see it..
Here's a stupid question. Can you use computer assist landing to automate landing or will you get chewed up doing so?
At rescue ships, yes, at damaged stations, no.
Anaconda, 184 passenger seats, 50 LY range, speed 354 but unimportant, never gets hyperdicted on the way out, rarely on the way back but in that case just relog, the higher the distance from rescue ship the higher gets the payment, I make 22-35 mil per trip
Better to carry cargo on a Cutter, 10 minutes - 30+- million credits and 100% safe
@@Benchmarklab but you don’t save humanity in the process
I run refugees with my cutter. 160 pax per run. 350 boost outruns most goids and 8A prismatic make the rest irrelevant while I wait for my FSD to cool.
you mean war related hauling or just anywhere? I´m currently trying to do my part ya know 😉
@@Benchmarklab That's what I was thinking.
I thought about using a python for evac missions but the Imperial Cutter allows me to save up to 200 people per trip and I take them from Sol.
That 6D power distributor looks scary. The boost interval is 10 seconds, thats cutting it fine. After 2 heatsinks its gonna be a boogey man trip.
Is there any new way to make a lot money with a carrier?
Is the Guardian fsd booster necessary ?
Question, does "mirrored armor" that helps with thermal damage. Also help with heat management?
Nope. Just attacks from weapons.
I assume this is the new stuff happening in the Live server. I've only started getting back into just the Legacy version. And was also sad to see that a difference between having and not having Horizons, doesn't exist. I don't know if they decided to make that free or not, I haven't been in the elite scene for years.
is this faster the rb so missions rn ?
Great. Now I just need a "how to get the credits for a python quick" guide.
Biology exploration. Seriously good money fast, and it feels "scienc-ey!" (hah)
It seems all the ports i go to are abandoned and theres no one in the passenger lounge, i looked on the map and noticed that all the star systems with thargoids are abandoned. Is this still a viable way to make money?
Why the hell do rescue missions have minimum cabin class requirements?
oh that bug is back? I thought they fixed that years ago
Can u use apex to enter the system?
so i went to cunningham port in hip 25679 and theres no passenger missions but the station is under attack, what gives?
same :(
Is the rescuepod scooping in big Stations still ongoing? like the burning stations befor?
I hope so. I did loads of evacuation missions on burning stations some months ago and scooping up escape pods or personal effects was great fun in the burning, falling debris. I tried it with collector limpets too - it was much quicker but a lot less fun, and felt like a waste of a module slot.
Python is the only ship I own. Python is the only ship I need.
Is this method better than Robigo? My python is parked out there for that run and don't wanna recall it unless it's gonna be worth it
Boost to rank as well??? If so; thank you!
So what I've always wondered is why don't they install AX weapons on the stations?
The station weapons system became non functional. AX wouldnt make a difference.
@@Mimeniia They should've listened to Admiral Adama about networked systems... smh
the build in the link has no shield

Is this available to do on console?
No. I dont believe you have the thargoid invasion on console
glaive and scythe : 🗿put the humans in the bag kid
Am I doing something wrong ? I put in Class 6 Economy passenger cabins and Class 5,4 etc, when I went to the mission board it told me i need 'CARGO' space, so i put in cargo compartments and now i can take injured passengers ? what gives ? So here's what I've discovered ; no need to go to the stations being attacked by thargoids, find the ones with the white flame over them on the map use cargo containers and you get the same missions without the threat of being busted up by thargoids, the payments are the same.
But they also pay less
@@DowntoEarthAstronomy Hi Mate, you are no doubt right but you didn't comment on the fact that I couldn't use passenger cabins, I had to use cargo, even at Cartmill Gateway, have you got an explanation for that, is it a glitch or are my files screwed up :) o7 Love your content bro.
Need more elite Dangerous content!!!!
Console players don't really get to participate but we have to deal with the outcomes. So it's up to PC players to save the bubble.
Works like a charm until that annoying Mission/Passenger load screen failure happens and all your missions time out. Losing you 2-3 hours, lots of money and rep/inf all round
This still any good?
Lahua system 73.82 Ly to Ross 112. The new main goal where the surrounding squads concentrate their efforts. o7
Not anymore. Enter the Scythe. Bring some AX MC's and an ECMS.
Rethinking if i need to change my orca for this during front line extraction if i cant get my Beluga engineered properly in time :) thnx for the tip but would prob exchange shield to more cargo instead ;) My stat counting right now indicates that youre getting better chance popping an heatsink before jumping in to system but its to early to say. How ever it now lays at 87.5% contra not using it at 50%

Beluga for the rescue! (in style)
Is it a viable option to replace python with a krait?
you could but you loose a size 6 slot and 32 cabin spaces
Is this Odyssey or Horizons?
same question
Well, both now that Horizons also got the 4.0 treatment. Not in Legacy Horizons though.
For those that want less danger go to Thargoid Alert systems. Less likely for interdiction. I suppose the payout is less, but I haven't checked. o7
Yes, three ships for different purposes. 1) Beluga Alert Pax ship, 2) Python Combat Pax missions, 3) Cutter Combat Cargo.
i managed two runs without incident, but now I'm getting pulled from hyperspace and get annihiilated, EVERY TIME!!! What am I doing wrong??
I know it's not related to this video in particular, but does anyone know if I can buy the game on Steam and use my previous account from Epic?
You should be able to. Your account with Frontier is separate from your Epic and Steam accounts.
i have 20 million and recently engineered my first item at farseer. i dont see me getting that "basic" python in the farseeable (pi) future. any noob ship guides?
Coool ! Thankyou : p
Sweet, now I can put my Krait mk2 to good use and evacuate alot of survivors and still make enough credits to upgrade it. I'll probably keep my weaponry on just incase, cause you never know when you might be forced to blast you're way out
Why blast your way out if you could get out faster without the weight of bulky weapons.

Yeahhh, I converted my explorer Anaconda the "Neutron Surfer" to Transport an assload of ppl at once... I get to the rescue ship to find out they don't have a large landing pad... like why!?!?.. so now I'm biological scanning 🤷🏼♂️
As I prepare my anti anti-xeno ship to defend the ammonia bee hive aka maelstrom✊️
The rescue ship should have a large landing pad. Probably a player hogging it if you weren't in solo. Otherwise log out and back in to try again.
Yes they do..One per ship..Sometimes you just gotta wait!
I want to make money helping the Thargoids. I feel discriminated by Fdev. They should have allowed the community to decide the outcome. Many of us welcome our new overlords.
I'd say they are great fun after a few beers. The stories they'd tell you. 'And we anahilated that species'. 'Ah good one, tell us another'
I named my passenger ship (i did that when doing Robigo missions)...
Oceanic 815
No crash whastoever... Yet... :D :D :D
So when the passengers board, they know they're lost?

Didn't delete it. TH-cam just held it for review and has only now had time to review comments ;-)
So this method is not good for me... I never learned how to dock and never will... I use docking assistant on every ship... the controls are too much for my brain to dock and land
Have you learnt to dock yet? get yourself up to Robigo chum, you will be doing manual docking shieldless in no time and earning the big bux. Thats what Ill be doing soon to get back into Elite, relearn myself some docking there.
REBUY twice. This doesn't work, for me at least.
Anti-Thargoid play is for Engineering players and PvP players. I am a simple PvE, and 2 rebuys and I am out.
I'm over here in Robigo grinding some cash while I wait my 4 weeks for Prismatic Shields to unlock, might as well help humanity with this Python, eh? The thing that worries me the most about this is learning the technique of getting away from the Thargoids once interdicted. I think I get it based on this video, but I'm still hesitant. Can anyone recommend a more thorough description of how to avoid these things once interdicted? o7
