i dont think it is the barrel edges but it is the ground glass holder it is on a shock mount and if it is your first time using the letus you have to play around with the zoom to crop the edges out.
Hey dude, may i talk to you about your experience with the Letus extreme since our cameras are similar? I currently own a XL H1s and considering a Letus adapter, may be the extreme or elite. Just want to know how it serves you. How did you put together all your equipments for this vid? Did you experience anything wield or unexpected? How do you compare the image quality btw w/ and w/o Letus? It's hard to find a canon shooter with Letus around. Your reply would be much appreciated, Victor,
@deadcell1 well, i'am the type that dont read manuals. unless i really need it. it was easy to connect the letus extreem. but the support brackets are a challenge. the reason i say that i guess, cause i didn't read the manual lol but i manage to getting on. gosh it became so heavy. but hey i love the xl-h1,i love the body. and is so easy to use and a great picture. but you would have to do some research to find what you really are looking for. of course the price for the xl-h1 hasd gone down.
Hey thanks for the reply, I was just curious because someone warned me that this system doesn't work well a Canon camera, anyways, i don't see much downside (like loosing sharpness or wield flares) here. I think it looks very very fine to me, and of course, better than using just the stock lens! i already have a 7" monitor. I dont understand why Canon say its integrated EVF/LCD is an advantage =P I'm planning to get the either the extreme or the elite as my own Christmas Present. Cheers,
Hi Victor. As I just bought the equipment I can only speak based on a couple of test rounds. The letus thread size for this camera is 72mm. I found it easy to put together the equipment. Now I'm using a canon eos 50mm lens and a 35mm, both lenses work fine with the letus. I'm thinking of buying a lcd monitor though- something like a Swit-S-1080, as my experience is that the canon XLH1 viewfinder is a bit small for focusing when using these lenses. Picture quality is great in my opinion!
@halvorhoem I got it, yesterday lol i have to tell you it was lil dusty but, when i cleaned its brand new. so far everything work. he also sold me a canon video lens 3x wide zoom for $500 was that good? oh wanted to ask you what are the setting on the video above, i mean it looks fantastic.
I'am about to buy the XL-2 i know is older but for $1500. is not so bad, but after watching this video i'am having second thought. Gosh, should i spend the extra for the HL-H1?
@MEGABOINK65 Is it difficult connecting the Letus extreme to the canon XLH1? I been thinking about getting the XLH1s or I may just stick with my original pick and go with the Sony HXR-NX5U NXCAM .
Things look good on your side of the world my friend.
Thanx, the song is just a piece I wrote myself and put together in reason.
