For those of you who didn't know I'm 1/2 Panamanian. Ive been watching my mom dance and perform for years in her gorgeous pollera Panameña and we thought it'd be fun to share here on TH-cam. The pollera is absolutely exquisite. For makeup I'm getting out of my comfort zone of my day to day minimal makeup to really go for it.

I'm also half Panamanian but my family never wanted to teach me about my culture because they wanted to assimilate into England 😭 I missed out on so much culture

This was so fun to watch. My grandmother (father’s mother) was born and raised in Panama, 🇵🇦, but I’ve never met her or any part of my family on that side, including my father who spoke Spanish. As a kid I had met plenty of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans but I had never once met another person from Panama or of Panamanian descent.
Now that I’m an adult I’m really enjoying learning about that part of my heritage. I’m also learning Spanish. Thank you so much for this content and please thank your mother for sharing this culture with those of us who couldn’t learn it from the women in our lives.
As a panamanian for my whole life time I thought that Panama was a underrated country because I never had seen any video about Panama this video really made me get in to tears.....it shows me of how truly beautiful humanity is thank you.

I’m half Panamanian myself (Born in Panama, but moved to the United States at a very young age) and it’s so true that every little Panamanian girl has a photo taken with a Pollera on, my parents have photos of 5 year old me all dressed up. I’m so happy to see the culture getting shared more and more. I can’t wait to go back to visit Panama and learn where my roots come from❤️🇵🇦

Amazing! My husband and I and our 8 yr old daughter are coming to Panama in less than a month to experience the culture and the country and we are so excited! Our plan is to eventually move there from Canada so this is our check it out tour. My daughter is going to love to see this video! 7:19 the tembleques quite expensive, Depends on the material with which they do it. I made some for a school project, it was a basic design and the balls were plastic.
I wanted to say a lot more things, but I didn't want to make the comment longer. The skirt has the peculiarity of being quite expensive. That's why it's taken by the upper middle class, the peasant doesn't use it the way a lot of people think. Since gala's skirt is quite expensive, apart from the jewelry also for the work of handicrafts in the embroidery of the fabrics it takes them a year to complete. By the way, you look stunning, just like a Panamanian woman.

Pdt: como dato importante vestirse de pollera es muy caro y lleva horas vestirse, porque los diseños estan hechos a mano, además, los tembleques * el tocado en la cabeza * pesan mucho, tambien son hechas a mano y las joyas son muchísimas y por eso lo hace caro.
