Been a Chelsea supporter since 1969 when my dad used to take me to Stamford Bridge - we had a great team (Osgood was always my hero!) but I always admired that great 70's Leeds team, you've got to give credit where it is due - probably this Country's first 'Superteam'.

Leeds' problem was that they only had a small squad & when injuries & suspensions kicked in they struggled. The board would not give Revie the funds to bring in the extra 2 or 3 quality players he needed. They also self destructed on a regular basis,ie losing to Colchester & Sunderland in he FA Cup, and losing at Wolves in the last game of the 71-72 season when a draw would make them champions & complete the double.

I saw this Chelsea side play a few times at Leeds and the games were full of attacking, attractive football. Eddie Gray for Leeds and Charlie Cooke for Chelsea were alone worth the entrance money. Apparently the two teams got on well off the pitch, despite the rough stuff on it. I think Chelsea-Leeds 1970 is the best FA Cup Final ever. Probably while it's the most dramatic over 2 matches. Even if one only count the first match at Wembley, it's still one of the best. - I got in on DVD and all from 70-74. - Since that match I became a Chelsea-fan since 1970, but as they years had passed I think Leeds was the best team in Europe at that time. They should have won more and I have become a Leeds-fan of that period. They was always the best team as in CL 1975, but unlucky. - regards, Peter - Denmark.

Probably because there hadn't been a FA Cup Final replay for 58 years after the first ever drawn final at Wembley. TV audiences are always at their peak in the evening during weekdays. I think the Cup Final used to be shown on both BBC1 and ITV in those days. Add to that, it had all the makings of a classic. North v South and two talented teams who went to war when they met. The Wembley game just whetted the appetite.

I never saw Harris and McCreadie as angels. Not really. Useful, certainly and no worse than quite a number in the Leeds team so they can't complain. I particularly enjoyed Jack Charlton's misplaced backheader for Webb's goal. Nice one, Jack. This is the dirtiest Cup Final I have seen and, significantly, the most exciting. Chelsea won because they had they were indomitable and Osgood's goal was the best of both matches. I've been a Chelsea supporter since 1957. Bugger me, that's 60 years, or will be in April and this is my best Chelsea moment, better even than winning the Champions League.
