    Sorry for repeating myself once again, but this is ruly an amazing place. I enjoyed the photos very much. The fog creates this sense of moodyness and atmosphere that you can't get on a clear day.

    Love the mossy tree shot!
    Personally find it tricky to get a good shots out of interesting trees, almost always things that clutter or in the way etc.
    The winding river shot after that was also very nice!

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I agree, tree shots are very hard. It would have been great to have some of the fog by the river as well, perhaps another time.

    I know this area - it is very difficult to calm the chaotic riot of greenery and have it make sense - a certain amount of sensory overload! Great job, and very lovely to have a visit with the falls in the warmth of my home. Thank you!

    Another wonderful vlog. Likewise, I found Qualicum Falls beautiful but challenging to capture; I just couldn't translate my vision through the camera. You've done a fine job, however (and given us a few pointers along the way), so perhaps I'll try again in the future. Keep these vlogs coming! Cheers.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, AM! Well, I have to admit that the fog and mist helped considerably. Qualicum is a hard place to capture as is Englishman River Falls. I made a quick trip over to Englishman River after I finished here and couldn't find anything, the fog had lifted.

    Adam, I especially appreciate your points on choosing a good composition in all your videos ..... something I need to be more mindful of to produce better images. Also, love the level of saturation in all your work - nothing ever overdone ..... As a fellow Vancouverite your work inspires me to get out to all the wonderful areas in our backyard. Thanks

    • @QuietLightPhoto

      I must admit that it is a challenge to get inspired when it rains for weeks, but we are sure lucky to have all of this nature so close to Vancouver, very spoiled.

    Great Vlog once again Adam, they are always so relaxing to
    watch and informative at the same time. Can I say that your drone footage is
    some of the nicest in all the vlogs I follow, it`s always so understated but
    ads so much to the video, keep it up and thank you for your efforts.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Jeff! I agree, the drone stuff really adds to the production value. I guess the trick is not to have too much.

    I thought I had pressed the bell for notifications (but hadn't) so coming to this on Christmas Eve.... fabulous imagery and your vlogs have a quality to them that needs more coverage I say. The transitions are so well put together and matched the dreamlike feel to the location superbly. I look forward to following your journey in 2018. Best wishes Adam .... and Nadolig Llawen

    Hello Adam, I just discovered your channel. What a joy! Beautiful images, superb drone footage, great vlogs ! I'm binge watching your videos. Just a shame for the frequently hunting autofocus. Maybe a 6DMkII would correct that weakness nicely.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yeah, the autofocus on the Sony RX 100 m3 is a bit of a problem, at some point, I'll upgrade. The problem with the 6D and similar cameras is that it's more to carry and I'm already loaded down.

    I really liked the photo of the tree with the moss hanging on it. Very other-worldly looking. Do you find when you shoot those that you reduce the vibrance or desaturate the images in LR? I like that muted, subdued look and didn't know if the as shot color gave that or you desaturated it to get there.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Philip! The RAW image was pretty desaturated to start with so I didn't have to reduce it too much. I reduced the saturation in Photoshop. Thanks again.

    A lot of your scenes might benefit from your love interest decked out in antique colorful Tyrollean
    garb & wicker backpack , about to pluck a magic mushroom from the forest floor . When next in N. Europe , this might be an excuse to comb the used clothing shops . Bring your camera .

      Haha! when I was a kid I used to wear a scarlet bowler hat that had a peacock feather stuck in the side of it. My dad bought it for me one Christmas, I must have looked ridiculous. I loved that hat and then someone from school stole it :-( In my climbing days I used to wear wool knickers, does that count, lol. Thanks, Peter!
