I think that watching someone play something is a much faster way of learning because it is right there. It's kinda like not seeing the forest for the trees if your kinda stuck with tabs. I don't feel that this person was being rude. Just watch , make mistakes, get it down and you will see how much faster it is than tabs.
Can't agree more! Used to be stuck in tabs, and now I use my ears, my eyes and my skills improve much faster. Best advice you can give is get away from tabs.
Patrice Robitaille This is really the best advice for everybody, just get a looper and loop the section of the song until you hear it right, and over time your hands will guide you to the right spot. Then over time you hear songs on the radio and you can see it clearly ! Great cover !
Remember the first time I heard the album I was playing Dead Island, I thought it was so good and I even remember where I was on the map, the church getting chased by one of the psychos.
As an acustic noob, it blows my mind every time I see the slide and bending part right after e-major. It's so satisfying to see, but at first a nut to crack.^^ Nice video!
Lyrics in case anyone also wants to sing along: I sat by the ocean and drank a potion, baby to erase you. Face down in the Boulevard, yet I couldn’t face you. There ain’t no use in crying. It doesn’t change anything, So baby what good does it do? Your friends, they all sympathize. Maybe, I don’t need them too. Imagine I'd be your one and only Instead I'm the lonely one You, me and a lie. Silence is closer. We’re passing ships in the night. There’s nowhere to run away. Said, “Boy if you want love, you’ll have to go and find it with someone new.” “Do you know who you really are? Are you sure it’s really you?” Lies are a funny thing. They slip through your fingertips because they never happened to you. Time wounds all the heals as we fade out of view. Imagine I'd be your one and only Instead I'm the lonely one You, me and a lie. Silence is closer. We’re passing ships in the night. You, me and a lie. Silence is closer. We’re passing ships in the night. Into the night, Left with nowhere to hide. Closer and closer. We’re crashing ships in the night
Hahaha yeah 3:30 onwards, kinda like "Into the hollow". It's cool how they've taken the ideas from past songs and kind of 'upgraded' them in Clockwork!
I love this. Like all your videos it's so well done and helpful! My only critique is that after "are you sure it's really you?' Josh (lead) plays alternating with the rhythm guitar until the bridge. Even without that it's always fun to watch these :D
Dude!!!!!!! Killer guitar playing and tone as always!!!! I'm so envious of your talent! Been a drummer for last 30 plus years and now trying to learn the guitar. Thanks so much for your excellent tutorials!!!!!!!!!! I do wonder if you're not one of the queens of the stone age.
i think in the pre-chorus, they only move the E flat to E notes but the rest of the power chord stays on the B and E octive. i may be wrong though, it's just what it looks like live.
Don't use tabs. Its right in front of you. Make mistakes and learn from it. The best thing you can do is get the fuck away from tabs, and eventually you'll be learning from ear. Tabs are kind of blocking you.
I second Connor. Sometimes there are timing errors and wrong notes that are produced by a tab. Just learn by seeing and by hearing. You also can incorporate some of your style to the playing 👍
Nice cover, with a spot on tone.I like playing stuff with a tone like this.I'm going to get down to a guitar store to try some out, but are there any recommendations you could make?Cheers!
Hey you changed pickups. Are they P94s? If so, how are they? Great cover aswell! Best Ive seen. I think josh's guitar doubles up the 1st couple of strokes on each chord of the 2nd half of the 2nd verse.
What are chords are you picking in the chorus. Don't need tabs but there are so many sanctimonious variations it would help if you just gave us the variation.
This play-along is the King shit of fuck mountain of play-alongs!

Having functional ears helps too. #tabsarefortards
This makes me appreciate the genius of that album even more!
Best album they have done 👌🏼
Remember the first time I heard the album I was playing Dead Island, I thought it was so good and I even remember where I was on the map, the church getting chased by one of the psychos.
Perfect guitar sound for this song!
1:34 proof that slackerVK is actually human
Man, this doesn't get old.
This song's really grown on me ^^ wasn't a fan first time I heard, flawless cover too.
As an acustic noob, it blows my mind every time I see the slide and bending part right after e-major. It's so satisfying to see, but at first a nut to crack.^^
Nice video!
One of the most accurate covers ever

Yesterday in the band I'm in we started playing this song and your video was great help for the guitarists.
Great playing, superb quality! Congrats!
Hahaha yeah 3:30 onwards, kinda like "Into the hollow". It's cool how they've taken the ideas from past songs and kind of 'upgraded' them in Clockwork!
Buen Cover, chabon .Creo que soy el primero que te felicita en Español/Spanish.
Sounds exactly like the studio version. 10/10
Your covers... dude, just thank you. i would never have realised all the subtle nuances by ear alone.
Great cover, I love the accents and flourishes that you use on those chords. Also your rhythm guitar tone is fucking great.
That shit is spot on.

You sir have found the perfect tone
congratulations.
You make that look effortless..my fingers were tripping over themselves doing this

perfect
Dude what is that bendy thing in the verse? I can't figure it for the life of me
I think he's doing like a double stop bend on both the d and g string. At least that what is sounds like to me.
Allen Camps Right i meant i cant tell where it was
its just C#5 chord on the a and d strings. If you are talking about the part after the Eminor on the rhythm guitar side.
Why did you disable ratings? It's not like anyones going to dislike this, your awesome!
very impressive
cool tune
Well fuckin done, love it
Loko, arregaçou.
Great song, fine job.
Enjoy It, I advise you this last album in film sound and an old one Over the sun...
Nice lookin Guitar! Jazzmaster? Awesome playing too!
YES
That really helps to clear things up. Thanks :)
excelente!!!
I’m pretty sure that on barre chords Homme mutes the octave on the D string.
Good job, I like where this album is going. You plan on doing more ?
please cover I Appear Missing..
Great! Tune standard C?
Excellent job! Are those p90's?
What are chords are you picking in the chorus. Don't need tabs but there are so many sanctimonious variations it would help if you just gave us the variation.
Awesome cover! Are you using a real amp or amp sim to dial in the tone? Would be curious to know how you achieved the tone. Thanks!
Speakersim
What pedal are you using?
Tell us!! :)
Can you gently do Keep Your Eyes Peeled or I Appear Missing? I'd love to see your interpretation of 'em!
Kudos
