I love RC Sproul! My youngest son, now 21 years old, at the age of 5 years old ran to the kitchen to tell me that RC ‘Spo’ was on Sky again! In the UK, we used to lose some of our favourite Gospel channels whenever the clock changes. RC Sproul had a great influence in my life and that of my family. He was my Apostle Paul. RIP great theologian🙏

My Dad once said about a very kind relative "If you have a problem with Knud you are the problem." That's a very honest way to sum up R.C. No one was more gifted and gracious in his presentation of the truth. Thank you Lord for raising him up to educate so many of your people.
Still painful but joyful to listen again. R. C. died exactly one year after my mom, who finally trusted Christ one month before she died. And so I was in Jakarta commemorating her one year when I received a message of RC's going Home.

I found my church I now serve as a deacon through Ligonier. I caught RC lecturing on day in my car at work on lunch break. I had no idea who he was, or what denomination he was associated with. I was very new and all I knew for sure was I was blind and could now see. I called Ligonier and asked for help finding a church, they actually had to explain what the PCA was, then had to explain what Presbyterian meant. His teaching was exactly what I was looking for, I had been listening to Charles Stanley and like him alot, but never understood when he said things like, you have to make a decision for Christ, I only knew if I had to make the decision I never would have. What can I say, the charioteer of Israel has fallen.

The best description of how to explain to our children from your teaching Mr. Sproul is summed up very well like this................... Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved. We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you. Take comfort knowing that we are not like God. We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did. So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God? So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you. Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. When God opened my eyes of understanding, I literally understood my depravity. I surrendered my whole life to Jesus Christ. I listened to R.C. Sproul on the radio for my first year, I asked my pastor at that time about this kind of teaching, he said I was not intellectually equipped to follow such a teaching on reformation. I didn't understand why if I wasn't intelligent enough to understand R.C. then why was i being transformed? 🤷♀️ needless to say, they mostly shunned me. I continue to listen and learned. It's been 22yrs. Now. The more I listen to my brothers in Christ I become less and less and my God becomes MORE AND MORE to me. I will see R.C. in heaven. R.C. Sproul was a man after God’s own heart. John is also. Because they disagreed at times does not anyway show one’s view had intentions other than perusing that Jesus and only Jesus is the way. I own a John McArthur study Bible and I love it. I watch R.C Sproul videos and listen to liggenear ministries and love them equally as well. They are the closest in our day and age to Peter and Paul. R.C’s contribution to the faith God will reward beyond R.C’s expectations I have no doubt. His loss is. But his contribution isn’t lost. And the day John departs this world he will be welcomed home as such a good and faithful servant. I don’t care whether one values this teacher or that one. They both are genuine servants of the Almighty God. R.C. Will get rewarded beyond my imagination, but here on earth he will be sorely missed.

Adoration is synonymous to deep love and respect. It is also synonymous to worship. But in the context which pastor MacArthur uses it, it's the former not the latter. However, I understand exactly what you mean.
I always loved RC, until I just learned he was Alice Cooper's mentor. How could he believe a twisted messed up individual, who still doesn't know right from wrong, claim Alice is a Christian? This is much more egregious then what Ravi Zacharias did. At least Ravi tried to hide what he was doing because he knew it was wrong, but RC is that undiscerning? No wonder Alistair Begg doesn't see he did anything wrong. No wonder MacArthur still invites the perverted John Piper and endorsed the LGBTQIA2S+ loving Donald J. Trump as does Voddie Baucham. Wasn’t it R.C. who said, “ We have a fallible list of infallible books”, referring to the canon of the Bible? What does that really mean? It’s always confused me. So why did he believe in the unBiblical and man made dogmas of sola scriptura and sola Fide? Because he had the free will God gave him to believe in man made dogmas. “Reformed” theology teaches heresy. Was R.C. a heretic? Only God can judge his soul. I wonder though, if he’s in Heaven (you have to be 100% sinless to enter Heaven, you know) right at this moment, I wonder what he said to Mary when she introduced him to her Son, God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity? “Sorry, but I do not believe you are the Mother of God, so go away?” I pray for his soul. If he is in Heaven he is more alive than us here on earth, If you believe he’s in Heaven, you can ask him to pray for you here on earth and by the power of God, he can hear your requests and pray for you. Of course, R.C. didn’t believe in the Intercession of Saints either. Let me be clear. In no way do I disrespect him and I pray for his soul, but I feel sorry for all those “reformed” Christians who reject so much of the truth of Christianity and have replaced that truth with dogmas of men. One of the great joys of my life was attending a Ligonier conference, when John MacArthur came to join RC Sproul. It was a true blessing to me.
I love RC Sproul! My youngest son, now 21 years old, at the age of 5 years old ran to the kitchen to tell me that RC ‘Spo’ was on Sky again! In the UK, we used to lose some of our favourite Gospel channels whenever the clock changes. RC Sproul had a great influence in my life and that of my family. He was my Apostle Paul. RIP great theologian🙏

Still painful but joyful to listen again. R. C. died exactly one year after my mom, who finally trusted Christ one month before she died. And so I was in Jakarta commemorating her one year when I received a message of RC's going Home.

I found my church I now serve as a deacon through Ligonier. I caught RC lecturing on day in my car at work on lunch break. I had no idea who he was, or what denomination he was associated with. I was very new and all I knew for sure was I was blind and could now see. I called Ligonier and asked for help finding a church, they actually had to explain what the PCA was, then had to explain what Presbyterian meant. His teaching was exactly what I was looking for, I had been listening to Charles Stanley and like him alot, but never understood when he said things like, you have to make a decision for Christ, I only knew if I had to make the decision I never would have. What can I say, the charioteer of Israel has fallen.

When God opened my eyes of understanding, I literally understood my depravity. I surrendered my whole life to Jesus Christ. I listened to
R.C. Sproul on the radio for my first year, I asked my pastor at that time about this kind of teaching, he said I was not intellectually equipped to follow such a teaching on reformation.
I didn't understand why if I wasn't intelligent enough to understand R.C. then why was i being transformed?
🤷♀️ needless to say, they mostly shunned me. I continue to listen and learned. It's been 22yrs.
Now. The more I listen to my brothers in Christ I become less and less and my God becomes MORE AND MORE to me.

I can say RC and "JMac" is the best teacher and preacher combination in my life that i could ever wish for and i quickly thank God.
R.C. Sproul was a man after God’s own heart. John is also. Because they disagreed at times does not anyway show one’s view had intentions other than perusing that Jesus and only Jesus is the way. I own a John McArthur study Bible and I love it. I watch R.C Sproul videos and listen to liggenear ministries and love them equally as well. They are the closest in our day and age to Peter and Paul. R.C’s contribution to the faith God will reward beyond R.C’s expectations I have no doubt. His loss is. But his contribution isn’t lost. And the day John departs this world he will be welcomed home as such a good and faithful servant. I don’t care whether one values this teacher or that one. They both are genuine servants of the Almighty God. R.C. Will get rewarded beyond my imagination, but here on earth he will be sorely missed.
