Hey.This was really interesting and well done. Thanks for the effort. 1. Why did so many immigrant enter Penang 1884/1885 and what area in China did they come from? Thanks

They came from various places in China, and they fled due to massive famines, rebellions and also the opium war. People were starving and living conditions were poor so many sought their fortune by traveling to Southeast Asia by boat
