@D. R. this is African literature, not just black story. And ai can also name many many characters that were played whit who were black. And these stories are unique to us, we sit around fire with our great grand parents while they told us these stories. These are not just any story. And you speak of Black characters as if every black culture are the same. This is African Blacks not western Black.. so you can't white wash African blacks.. because we never made an African movie black washing your characters. This is unique to Africans.. we'll keep it that way.
@D. R. first of all, you haven't read the first few comments. Go back and read the conversation. And yes, it is true blacks have been oppressed by caucasians for hundreds of years. And you think everything is ok because you don't see what's going on in the workplace, we being charge extra for purchasing houses or cars. More blacks in prison than any other group, and were not even the majority. We get charged higher interest... its not right in front of you so you think everything its all good.. no oppression is going on. The constitution still has slavery in it.. once a black man goes to prison he becomes a slave laterally. So please! We can talk about modern day oppression alk day. This isn't ABOUT RACE! This is about CULTURE! We've seen how much ancients egyptian culture has been whitewashed by the west. We'll not let that happen to any other area in Africa. This is about our culture and telling our own story how and when we want! Your people have done enough damage to African culture.
Children of Blood and Bone is being produced by Disney Lucasfilm. Disney are also planning a film about Princess Sade. Michael B Jordan has bought the production rights to Black Leopard Red Wolf (Marlon James) and Kingdom of Souls (Nina Barron). George RR Martin is apparently producing 'Who Fears Death' by Nnedi Okorafor. A film about Nubian Queen Amanirenas has been in development hell over at Universal, while another film about the Dahomey Amazons (starring Lupita Nyong'o and Viola Davis) was announced back in 2017. There's also huge potential with novels like Daughters of Nri, Tales of Esowon (The Kishi) and The Rage of Dragons.

Writing this from California, USA... I've been a YouNeek subscriber for a couple years now. My son and I love EXO, Malika and all of their books. The animated shorts are good too. We really wanted to see more animation so these partnerships are a blessing. We're proud to have been supporters before everyone else finds out how cool YouNeek is... I've been waiting for 30+ years for well done african animation with amazing story telling. There have been so few african centric representation that doesnt involve talking animals (ie american version of african animation).
Yes absolutely African is the future. I would love to see superhero teach history and the future of the motherland. Involve the readers by asking them to question and win a prize make it fun and educational
I am so glad to see this. I have 2 grandchildren, a 6-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl. I can wait to get these in my hands. In addition, Africa will rise, and in turn, bring up the diaspora. We need to trade with each other so that his vision can become a reality.
I went to same primary school with Roye Okupe alongside his older brother and 2 sisters. We were very close friends with his family back in the early 90s. He won't remember me because he was so young at the time. I knew him at the time as Dewunmi Okupe. Massive respect to this brother.
I’ve personally been following the Youneek studios (and similar others) story for a while. Great to see the consistency and resilience of this industry among indigenous Africans. Strength to strength!
This is a very impressive to see. I’ve been learning blender so that I can create my own animation for our children. I really want to bring the essence of our great history to life so that we can have a proud display of ourselves on a platform that our children can also embrace. This is a great innovation to me and I will be following to see how I can enhance any development
This is wonderful. Congratulations! What talent. The graphics are beautiful!! I shared this on my Facebook. I'm Canadian but I have a lot of American friends!!!

After these being animated in 2D, 3D and cel-shading their needs to be beautiful live action adaptions and video games made out of them.
The irony of life. The stones that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
