Crayfish Freediving Fiordland

Freediving for New Zealand crayfish in Fiordland. Footage was mainly from breaksea and dusky sounds. More big crays than you could ever need. Average size would be around the 3-3.5kg mark with some over 4kgs. Enjoy!

Last year, I found the Ornate Spiny Lobster on TH-cam videos, and I swore I would never ever eat lobster again. Not that I ate them often, maybe once a year. But no more. Such beautiful creatures and defenseless with no large claws.

Half of it was filled with the Cannon G12 and half of it was filled with a Contour. Just the standard underwater housing for both, no filters. Haha you wouldn’t need SCUBA here mate, there were heaps of big crays in 2-5m of water. you can spot them from the surface.
