Test of competence:
The purpose of the ToC 21 is to ensure that nurses who qualified outside the EEA have the required levels of knowledge, understanding, and application (primarily demonstrated through the CBT) and the required skills (primarily demonstrated through the OSCE) to practice safely in the UK. The test of competence can also be used by nurses who wish to return to practice has been out of clinical practice for some time. The use of the ToC 21 will allow them to return to practice in the UK by demonstrating up-to-date knowledge, understanding, application, and skills.

Hello sir. Could you please suggest me? I have one year experience as a career in uk. But i am working in agency. And my line managers dont have NMC band 6 or 8. If so do i still need to apply for oet or it will be alright just to apply for cbt and osce and apply for job? Please guide me 🙏
No problem, still the manager can verify. NMC only wants someone who can verify that you can communicate in English.

Yes should be your line manager, like you get references for new jobs from your line manager
Assalamualaikum I have some questions if you help me out I will be very appreciative.
Actually I have some doubts regarding my oet test. I am a registered nurse in India and now I am pursuing my masters in the UK I am almost finished just waiting for the results, as well as I am having one year of experience in HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT from king's college Hospital which is in the UK so, I am just confused about do I need to write Oet or else my masters degree and the experience will help to show my English efficiency. Please if you answer me these questions I will be very thankful for you because I got information that If I studied in the UK and have one year experience in an English speaking country then I do not need to write an OET exam.

Wsalam, yes you are right, to get registered in NMC you can use your practice, as you have one year of experience in a health setting you are eligible to get registered.
My suggestion, if you want to get the pin,
1- start your NMC registration
2-write CBT
3- apply to any NHS trust as an overseas nurse, the trust will arrange your OSCE.
Or, if you are still working in a health career, just contact your trust recruitment and tell them that you are eligible for Pin.

Hi, I would like to ask you about oet. Did you give oet or not, because I have same situation like you. I did my master in the Uk
I think, according to NMC language criteria, you can provide evidence of language by education, recent practice, or tests like oet ilets.
Sir i have a question is it free of cost to go uk for osce once cbt is cleared ?
You have to get a job, and the hospital or nursing home will pay for your OSCE, visa and tickets
What is the minimum score to pass cbt part b?
Salam sir could you please guide me how to do payment to book cbt in Pakistan??? Because there is issue to pay for cbt in Pakistan as compare to pay in any other country????
I am not sure of any issues, you can pay with crash card, or ask somebody abroad to pay.

What is passing score cbt in both categories. Please
At least 68% in overall aggregate of both Part A and Part B. For Part A out of 15 questions, 14 are to be answered correctly i.e., 90% passing score is necessary. In part B at least 35 questions are to be answered correctly to get pass.

No, you need either an employer who is in English speaking country, or test results like OET or IELTS etc for NMC registration
