    Hey Flair, ive seen a few different things where folks do like 1 huge pool but its litarally many in 1. 1st id do a spirts area, where u can have it maybe 4ft deep play pool games, keep it shallow for kids etc. Next zone the middle put ur wet pool bar in with stool seats or benches etc bbq and fridges all the works. Close to this area maybe ur hot tub or jacuzzi if u wanted one. 3rd side u want ur deep end with diving board and slides u could add one to the shallow side for the kidlets if u want too but ive seen too many kids fall or bust their chin or head open so i prefer them in the deep end myself and if kids wanna use them 1 wear water wings and 2 a life vest. If u want a lazy river thats a good way to circulate your water but so is a waterfall or water feature of some kind. You could make like a little cave kids can play in and have the slide where u climb the backside of the rocks to use it and it be coming down between the rocks and over the waterfall or the opposite side. But ive seen it for sure. Check out million dollar pool yards to get some back yard ideas and if ur pups will be swimming i would for sure go with cement pool over a lined one. One little paw nail with gash a hole in a liner so thats a thought too. Good luck and im sure u will love whatever u decide to pick guys, thank u for bringing all of us along with u on this journey. Wishig u both all the best and cant wait to see the build. Also id make sure tou have plenty of bar areas and coolers, fridges counter and cupboard space. My uncle didnt think of that or change room and a storage area to stock his var and he regretted it after the first summer and then ended up having to rearrange things etc, u know how it goes. So that might be something to think about as well as a bathroom near by. I suggest putting in a pool house, with doors you can slide open completely like opening the entire wall. That way, u can put in dressing rooms, towels, ur bathroom for folks so they arent trampling through ur home soaking wet. U can install your outdoor fireplace, grill and kitchen with a huge tv for any games etc u may want to watch while ur bbqing and enjoying the water. Definately worth it.

      We will probably do sod around the main area of the home, it typically isn’t that much more than seeding and you will have grass right away vs mud!

  • @adamjohnston102
    @adamjohnston102 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    My suggestion is concrete infinity pool with a jacuzzi off on the one side, a rock waterfall coming off a hill or something that goes into the pool with a water slide that comes across it or something. Then for the back yard fire pit area you should get an old silo dome and put it above the fire pit with cedar posts holding it up. It’ll give you great cover underneath next to the fire and will also allow the smoke to go out the top center giving it a smoke stack look.

    Well, it's about 3am and I still haven't slept. Imagine how happy I was to see another Brad the Builder video out!
    It's funny to see Andrew and Macy alone without the rest of the guys. It's a totally different dynamic. I had to laugh at Andrew wanting the scrap wood to build a chicken coop or something, yet he wants to pull out all the stops for the pool area (and the gun room, and the dog suite, and the garage, and the shop, and...). I also got a kick out of Macy tuning Andrew out. The "wah wah" sound you made reminded me of the adults in every Peanuts Charlie Brown movie ever made.
    One thing I would imagine is a no-brainer with pools is having a secure fence around it with alarms, etc. I always think of country music singer (and TH-camrs - channel: The Smiths) Granger and Amber Smith losing their then youngest little boy in a freak - totally silent - drowning a couple of years ago. That is the one thing that as a mom always scared the crap out of me and why I had my daughter in "swimming lessons" at 6 months old. I highly recommend them. If done correctly, you can teach an infant that young to get over on their backs, float, and find air. Pools should be fun. I'm all for a diving board and a slide, swim up bar, etc. but you also have to have any and all safety measures in place when kids are involved.
    As always, it seems like your subcontractors are awesome at what they do. It's always a good day when the dirt backfiller dude has a horn honk to share!

    Hey Brad, silly question but do you have a much loved pet? If so, I do little (4x6" mounted on cardstock to fit a 5x7" frame) watercolor portraits of pets and have done pretty much anything from chihuahua to Great Danes, rabbits to horses, cows and goats, cats, birds... I'd love to try and do one for you and your family. If you do have a pet, I'd be happy to give it a try for ya. Not going to happen soon - I'm pretty laid up still but it'll give me something to look forward to tinkering with when I'm back to being a bit more upright! If not, no sweat!

      @@BradtheBuilder Hi Brad! Wow, 4 pups is a lot! I thought we had a houseful with our 11yo dog Max (who just had his second back knee operated on about 4 weeks ago), a rescue (Sybil) that my daughter brought home from work (she's a trainer and works at a boarding/kennel facility) for a couple days and we just haven't give back yet and her cat Mowgli who is a tank and a rascal.
      I sent a different comment with regards to getting in touch so will close this one. Save you having to read me blathering on and on and on... 🤣

  • @Eraserhead1
    @Eraserhead1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the pool it would be cool to maybe do a Rock waterfall that's also got a cave you can walk under or swim into. Maybe have a lazy river run through it and maybe a bridge over the lazy river with a slide off the top of the waterfall with stairs up in the back and maybe a sunk in seating area with a fire pit in the middle. Check out maybe hiring Lucas congdon he builds insane pools
