Geez, Slim! When I read those words "final road trip" in the video title, I almost has a heart attack. I've calmed down now. That "final" time lapse was fantastic. Happy trails to all.
Everything comes to an end Tom. So much has changed in 9 years, it was the right time.
@@SlimPotatoheadBest wishes and thank you. 😢😊
Slim I hope you can pivot to local content in NB & at home which can continue to deliver your very unique perspective on life, nature and ingenuity!
Thanks for all the travel adventures and take some well deserved rest!
I hope slim you continue with your awesome work, it’s really the only channel I really enjoy watching . A pro I would say hope all is well
Well done Slim, a very enjoyable series with the eclipse as a finale. It was nice to see your friend Caroline in this episode.
Thank you Slim, your 2024 blowout trip ended with the best bang ever! I enjoyed your US visit. Please come back again sometime.
"I make wind" --Slim Potatohead 🤗🤗
Love Caroline. Such a nice presence. We took our little tear drop trailer and watched from NE Texas. We were lucky, the weather broke our way and we got a nice look at the eclipse. Glad you did too!
Like Dorothy said...there's no place like home...to get shots of the eclipse. Thanks slim! Good job!
Fabulous slim fabulous.
Thank You ...
And we keep our eyes on Slim!😊
Thank you for this video.
Thank you Slim, I really enjoyed that.
Thank you Slim for taking us with you in your many journeys. We have all learned along the way and have seen some beautiful places. And it is all because of you. Wishing peace to you and a long journey of discovery what ever you may do.
Well done, Slim!
Beautiful!!!!
Very cool footage. I’m glad you were able to find a spot to view the total eclipse. The halo of light is quite the image.
I was able to watch it from my backyard (Ontario) however, I only had the glasses (and my memory). I really appreciate you capturing this for everyone.
Thanks!
WOW! I am very happy for you Slim , happy that you had such an awesome place to view the Eclipse with your friend Caroline! The reaction there was the same here when it went to totality! Everybody gasped and cheered including me! I am so thankful that my home was in the path of the total eclipse , all I had to do was walk out my door to view it. You certainly made the right choice to drive back home! Thank you so much for taking us along and for sharing this wonderful video! I really enjoyed this !!!
Beautiful! I was slightly south of Austin Texas - the clouds parted over us for about 15 minutes, so we saw some of the eclipse. The farm animals definitely decided it was night, but woke up as soon as the sun came out. Thank you for your drive, the video was awesome.
Wow! That was some journey, and well worth the wait for your video. Congratulations on getting such excellent footage of the total eclipse. 🙂
One of your best Slim!
You did it! Your photo stream of the eclipse was great. Ironic that the best place turned out to be so close to home. But you did have a wonderful trip and I’m glad you shared it with us.
Great work....very beautiful
Wow, quite the journey Slim.
Thank you! ❤ you did a great job!!
Thanks Slim that was way cool 😎 👍👍
Your tenacity paid off‼️ 👏👏👏👏
Went to N. GA mountains for the 2017 eclipse. Was an eerie experience. Odd was how the birds and crickets made noise as if it was night.
Also odd, was like night but the mountains in the distance were still in sunlight. Funny, did not get many pics as I had set my camera down and in the darkness could not find it ;) Did not have proper gear anyway.
Glad you got another chance to see it. Nice time lapse.
I started in Ottawa, drove down to the St. Laurewnece to try to find something close to totality....drove up the 401 and ended up some place just south of Montreal where I parked in a small city park with a great view of the ksy, and watched it with about a half dozen others. A pretty awesome experience!
Fabulous finale!
Slim's creative talents continue to amaze.
I've witnessed three total eclipses, but the most memorable one was when my partner and I ventured miles into the bush. It was just us, surrounded by peace and tranquility, reflecting on our place in the universe without any distractions. Great results for you, Slim! I'm glad you got to experience it. With your setup, you can also track sunspot activity. It would be wonderful to see more of Caroline; she seems like a great person.
Thanks Slim, That was amazing. I didn't get to see it but this was probably the next best thing. You really did a great job with the video.
I've been following you since day 1 and I think this is my first comment. Loved the eclipse footage! Are you really done traveling?? I am going to miss your peaceful nature videos! I am using some of your travel spots as inspiration as I set out for my first big road trip. Thank you for putting out such beautiful videos over the years, they really have meant a lot to me. :)
I will not be doing extensive road trips into the US any more. Thanks!
😎✌Great you had a friend along to share this special experience.
Slim, well done. It's one of your best, I think! Safe travels!
Kudos Slim, for making the right call. All's well that ends well...
Welcome Caroline. Lovely to see you!
Happiness is usually in our back yard Slim!
Thanks for sharing this incredible experience with those of us who only got to enjoy it virtually. And nice to meet Caroline!
An absolutely amazing video. Glad you got to enjoy the eclipse in its full beauty. We will miss you here in the United States, and especially here in Colorado.
CHEERS from Colorado
That’s a big announcement Slim but I get it ! Your cabin has enough nature to fill many years.
HEY! Gooooood morning Slim and thumbs UP !!!
Good morning Richard!
Great presentation Slim!
boy you dragged this out! lol You should have met me in Missouri. We had a great view, despite the weather predictions. And it did rain an hour before the eclipse, that just cleared out the non-believers. We watched in the Walmart Parking lot with about 100 friends.. Had the Walmart bathrooms, snacks, and great parking!! Camped nearly free in the Mark Twain forest 10miles away.
GOOD MORNING SLIM!! from Las vegas Nevada
Good morning!
I’m truly heartbroken. It’s strange how someone I’ve never met could have such a profound impact on my life, but you did. Your videos were a constant source of comfort when my world was falling apart, when anxiety and depression felt like they were consuming everything. In those darkest moments, your voice, your presence, brought me peace. You’ve been with me, unknowingly, through some of the toughest times in my life, and now it feels like I’m losing a piece of that safety. Thank you for everything. You’ll never know how much you’ve meant to me, and so many others.
But as much as it saddens me, I’m happy that you’re moving forward with what’s best for you, Slim. You deserve every bit of peace and happiness, just as you’ve brought to all of us.
That was so awesome Slim really enjoyed watching this, Next ellipse will be back in Alberta August 23, 2044 I will be 82 years old hope to be around for that too
Hi Slim, thank you so much to bring the eclipse so real to us in Malaysia. I only got to see the eclipse once when I was 8 years old, my brothers got a big tinted glass and we got to experience the eclipse just for an hour, and it vanished because it wasn't a good spot to continue watching. Since then I never got to see so many eclipse which took place after that in my 65 years lifetime due to my busy schedules ! It's a real appreciation. Thanks a lot once again for all your effort !
Hi Slim. I'm in Fort Smith Arkansas. It was perfect weather for the eclipse. No clouds what so ever. Have a great day.
Beautiful shots. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you Slim, that was magical🌝🌚
You're a Wild Man young feller!....a Wild One! Thumbs up!😎👍
One of your best! Thank you.
Thanks for sharing that was awesome...
Thanks for sharing your eclipse. Couldn't see diddly squat in SE Wisconsin! Beautiful 🌞 🌔 ⚫️ 🌙 🌕 😊
Yay a slim video for my commute
Video was spot on very nice equipment..
Really creative introduction! 😊
There is a trick to lining up to Polaris in the daytime. Get the app that tells you the time of solar noon each day write that time down. Have a watch that keeps exact GMT then use a long stick as a sun dial stuck perfectly perpendicular into the ground. When the appointed time strikes notice that the sticks shadow will point to the perfect true north (Polaris) no matter what the date is (and only works obviously if a shadow appears, i.e., no clouds!). I have used this method.
Thanks man.
Well done. I've been in the path 6 times now, and have had great and mediocre photographic results. Each experience was great, just with different locations and crowds or lack thereof.
I've never bothered doing a time lapse, because I concentrate on totality rather than the partial phases, but you did a good job which shows the motion of the moon relative to the sun.
I used detailed forecasts to avoid being clouded out in TX. We just had to drive 150 miles from where we were staying in San Antonio. While it was the closest I've come to getting clouded out, all's well that ends well.
We viewed the eclipse in southern Illinois. Perfectly sunny!
Just the best videos, Slim. This one brought a chill and tears. So exciting!
Memphis was perfect no clouds and full view.
Hi, Slim. Too bad you weren't in Fort Worth, Texas for the eclipse. We could see it just fine. Just a bit west of Dallas. I enjoy your videos.
Thank u that was Amazing
Amazing slim

Thank you Slim! What a trip.
Great video, always inspiring. Thankyou.
Awesome video
Good morning, Mr.slim 👍
Good morning!
There are eclipses happening around the world, so if you have money for traveling, you don't necessarily have to wait decades for it. I think Egypt is quite soon the next place for total eclipse, it might be really good opportunity for anyone who has been thinking about visiting Egypt. I saw the total eclipse happening last time over 30 years ago, and even then it was cloudy, but I was looking it from top of hill, it gave really great view how the wall of blackness just came in from the horizon, it is something you don't necessarily see from ground without view to further away. EDIT: actually checked this, 2026 total eclipse will be in Iceland or Spain, and in 2027 Egypt or Saudi-Arabia. Still, not so far away, just requires the buck to pay the costs.
Yay! Definitely made the right decision. A perfect day for an eclipse and great time-lapse. Thanks for another fun video. ✌️
Hang on a second, just watched the whole video, does that means no more videos from you Slim?
Final us road trip 😮
I watched it from the parking lot of my workplace in Cornwall ontario. It was a clear and mild day. Glad you managed to see it.
Good morning slim
Good Morning Jason!
Ok Slim, we love ya but is there any chance you could push more content, maybe a weekly quick update on the cabin and than one longer one every two weeks.
Sorry, I'm going in the opposite direction. Retiring!
I watched it in the driveway of our home with my husband. ❤
She's like Yoko Ono, only pretty and talented.
Hey slim
Slims gotta girlfriend, Slims gotta girlfriend, Slims gotta girlfriend...😘
Wait… “final” US roadtrip? You don’t plan to do another epic adventure in the States?
Amazing! Thanks!
Looked extra cosy and fun that you could be with a friend, and those other people, near that river!
But I didn't understand the title; have you finished going on road trips to the US, or are you also stop making your youtube vlogs at all?
(I hope you understand the question, couldn't get it quite right🇸🇪)
I am no longer doing long road trips in the US. That era has now passed. As for TH-cam, I hope to do a live video shortly to make some announcements. Thanks!
So you're saying you're done making road trips?
No more in the US.
@SlimPotatohead why is that, did something happen to make you not want to do it anymore?
