With older women like myself the signs are more subtle. A lot of women in their 40's and 50's are semi closeted. They may have grown children and even grandchildren who they are not yet out to. If you ask a woman that's older such questions she may try to dodge you. Also, she may not dress gay or go to Pride events. My advice is talk about yourself. Do this in person rather then online. I like women near my own age but some women I know like younger women. So if that us you, looking for a more mature partner, take it slow. Let things build steam. No u-hauling!

If she stiffens to support your weight (polite), relaxes against you (friendly), shifts to settle you closer (maybe even if subconscious) If she's intriguing, build a lasting friendship. I have a feeling that a new girl I met through a friendship app is a closeted lesbian. She came from a conservative country and came to the US to live a more liberal life style. She told me she has a bf in Europe but she’s been talking about him less. One time she used an “example” out of me of taking me to her country “if we were dating” hypothetically speaking (after she had some drinks) and that just rang an alarm for me. She seems totally fine living really far from him and made that personal choice which I found strange. We had a picnic with a group of friends and as we were leaving, she had to go one direction and the rest of us had to go a different way and she asked me if I was going to walk with her back to my car when I parked towards where everyone else was going..I mentioned to her that I played sports in HS and she seemed a little interested about that. I consider myself to be an athlete but that runs in my family, it has nothing to do with sexuality but some people ignorantly believe that it does.

Hilariously enough, I do fit a few of the lesbian stereotypes and just recently realized I was a lesbian. Flannel, check. Subaru, check. Short hair, I mean it's a bob and not a pixie but check nonetheless. When I realized, I was laughing my ass off almost all day. XD

I have a feeling that a new girl I met through a friendship app is a closeted lesbian. She came from a conservative country and came to the US to live a more liberal life style. She told me she has a bf in Europe but she’s been talking about him less. One time she used an “example” out of me of taking me to her country “if we were dating” hypothetically speaking (after she had some drinks) and that just rang an alarm for me. She seems totally fine living really far from him and made that personal choice which I found strange. We had a picnic with a group of friends and as we were leaving, she had to go one direction and the rest of us had to go a different way and she asked me if I was going to walk with her back to my car when I parked towards where everyone else was going..I mentioned to her that I played sports in HS and she seemed a little interested about that. I consider myself to be an athlete but that runs in my family, it has nothing to do with sexuality but some people ignorantly believe that it does.
