Thanks Kev. The A380 and the 747 are both incredible planes but the 747 has that something extra that's really hard to define. That was a fantastic video.
Hi Kev, Hello Michelle, I have three 1:200 scale models of the 747 (Lufthansa retro logo, LH 50th anniversary and Boing blue logo), but my top model (747-800) is a 1:100 with a wingspan of 27 inches. The queen of the skies is also a lady. My first flight with an aeroplane was an LH flight from Frankfurt to Johannesburg with a 747 (afterwards I took a DC3 to Gabarone(:)). Have a nice evening - joe.👍🤝👌✈@@AirportAction

Nice to catch the National B747-400F Queen of the Skies at Birmingham. I never seen one before. Thanks so much for that Kev buddy for sharing. Those are magnificent planes as always. Hopefully we will see you again soon.
And not only empty, we use reduced power sertings when empty as well. You have to see her take off when maintenance calls for a max power takeoff and we have no freight on-board. She just jumps off the ground. I love flying the Queen!

What a big happy Queen! Prolly just happy to still be flying, even if it's just cargo. Feel a little wrong looking at her backside during line up, but love watching her fly away! Side note: pretty sure BHX's runway was built the wrong way- always with the heavy crosswind. If it went left/ right they could shorten it by, like half!
I’m proud to say I helped build Boeing 747 for hundreds and also help build the last of the 200 and 300 model anyway yeah they were a beautiful airplane without a doubt I think the people that did the engineering and stuff like that back when they built that airplane originally I think they were better what they are today I mean from the approval from the board 18 months later it was rolling out the assembly line can’t do that today
I’ve said this on a lot of fb groups, why get so excited about seeing A380s over and over again, they’re not sleek beautifully designed aircraft, these are what big jets are all about, you can’t replace a Queen of the Skies with a poor substitute and call it King of the Skies? 🤷♂️✈️📷
You have an A380 as your profile photo though? 😂 I'm just joking with you 😂 ❤ but I do however have to agree to disagree, the A380 is a stunning piece of machinery in its own right. 747s are becoming vintage and rare and show us how it's done, but they are old and expensive to run, whereas a380s are showcasing the way in which technology has come on leaps and bounds and shows us that air travel can still be a sustainable way to travel. They're both beautiful in their own ways and that's why they're called what they are by aviation enthusiasts 😊 (sorry if that made no sense 😂)
@@sarahpurpleface thx for your opinion Sarah, I see your point about about its current status in the world of aviation but for me as a photographer it’s not aesthetically pleasing in comparison to most aircraft, especially not the 747? and your right I do have the Singapore A380 as my profile photo, it’s about the livery more than anything else, at the time, before COVID, it passed over mine every morning so I took a lot of photos, I do have a 747 in that livery but it doesn’t fit the space so well lol! 👍📸✈️

Terrific video, lovely to see the Queen again only this time in 4K. Is that runway really like a switchback or just an optical illusion??.
Thank you Ian , the runway is almost flat , but the dips are magnified due to camera compression 👍

Hi Tracey 👋
Superb as usual Kev. Sorry the stream had to be cut short. Hope you have managed to sort the issue out.

Is it crosswind takeoff? I noticed left spoilers and ailerons are slightly up and right ailerons are down at rolling. ✈ (Love from JAPAN🥰)
There was a slight crosswind for the take off 👍
How long to reach cruising altitude please?
..... hope that the tire overuse due to those abrupt turns are being taken into account to calculate the safe tire life.

17 seconds ground roll, 3.960ft ground run.
