    She debuted when kpop's hype was at its peak and just as toxic or even more. She was treated like sh*t by people.
    If she would have debuted today, she would have been considered as "iconic" and "barrier breaking"

      I saw a video of russians bullying and degrading a 17 yr old idol. That gehlee from unis. Russians are also nasty in real life, as someone who used to work in the hospitality industry and there were so many Russians in that country where I used to work.

    O gosh. I feel so sorry for her. She did not deserve all those hate. That is why every internet user has to verify everything they read on the internet. You do not believe everything you read especially controversial ones because most of them are all made up just to spread hate. Like I cannot believe there are so many who are so dense and stupid they go on the internet to talk shit about someone they have no prior knowledge of, just because of what they read or see on the internet.

    This really bothers me. Some kpop fans have an asian like fetish or something. America, British, Australian, most countries have and accept people from different countries and colors into their music industries. Thats normal. Even in Japan they have let in and gotten popular with the public both black and white singers. Americans are the only ones that have a problem with it. After reading comments between Japanese vs English it’s very telling. (The fans and the weird community)
    I only see this attitude with kpop. And for some reason its apparently not racist or creepy.
    Kpop has a bad name with some of the population for a reason.
    It’s completely normal and ok to expect korean to make up kpop and love that. Same with any other dominant population of a country. But there is not problem letting others into a industry. There is a huge double standard with peoples opinions between kpop/not western music industry vs western people towards their own countries being diverse.

    Lana's really talented. She was always focused on how to respect kpop. It's really sad that jealous foreigners tried to destroy her.

  • @our_verse96
    @our_verse96 หลายเดือนก่อน +28

    This is so sad really. She was young and coming from other country just to make a career where she thought people would support her turns out to be a huge disappointment. She looks talented and sweet too. The company doesn't deserve her. They took in a foreigner just to make profit but never intend to protect or even like them. That's awful and cruel. And talking about her race is so much worse. People who learn and read a book would know that Russian has mix blood especially from Mongolia, China and Korea. They may look Asian, that's why she has some distinct features. The one who created rumours about plastic surgery and other hateful things were probably doesn't finish school or learn nothing their whole lives. They thought they were right but sadly they didn't. I hope Lana find her path and become happier with her new company or her new career. She really reminds me of Somi, just beautiful and talented.

      Just a little adjustment - ethnically Russian people are Slavs (White) and don't look Asian, but Russia has 150+ different ethnicities, including Asian ethnicities. As far as I know Lana's dad is of Tatar ethnicity (a Turkic ethnic group).

    • @NuclearStrike
      @NuclearStrike หลายเดือนก่อน

      Where did you get that information? The majority of Russians ( 81% ) are Slavs ( they're just white people ). What you're describing are other ethnic groups in Russia. Stop spreading lies on the internet. Look how many people believe your inaccurate information . 🤣

    I saw everything that happened back then, I didnt understand the hate, but I didnt like her songs too much either. But the hate was unnessecary. I think the timing was really bad as international kpop fans. had this mindset that foreigners who arent asians shouldnt be kpop idols, but now that has changed quite a bit with blackswan and kpop companies debuting international groups like katseye, vcha and soon dear alice. Many other countries have artists from various backgrounds and i dont get it why is it problem when it comes to korea. Many Koreans seem more open to it honestly than international kpop fans and it is so weird to me.

    It always happens, some people can't deal with change and others are just dumb and aggressive. Also I would say there's maybe a factor of envy cus many of those haters dream with become idols, so watching someone like them putting the effort and succeeding makes them mad. Btw it's the same in all type of careers, quite absurd to have to deal with that too but happens a lot.

  • @hellboyescape2463

    the crazy thing is now no one would bat an eye at the idea of this concept. if she would have debuted under one of the big three or subsidiaries she would have had way more success and protected. (before anyone says anything, clearly this wasn’t an option to her at the time)
    i remember when she debuted and stan insta and stan twitter WITCH HUNTED the poor girl. her debut vocals might not have been the best, but at least she sang on her stages.
    i think if she was given the same opportunity now she’d be so successful. She’s beautiful, she can sing and dance well, and she fluent in multiple languages.

    International kpop fans should be more open minded it seem they should realize that its not all about them their is a lot of people or fans that might support to the idol that they dont like if you don't like a certain idol dont bash them just ignore them and dont give your dumb so called opinion if its not good just keep it to yourself support who do you like just remember that they are just human who have emotion

    😮It's great now she can talk about all the hate she received because it wasn´t fair but I don´t think she didn´t want to be a kpop singer o kpop idol because man, so why debuting in Korea instead of Russia or any other country? She and her company knew she accomplish korean beauty standards and also had the talent because she trained (as any trainee to become idol) so why denying facts? 🤔
    That's the only thing I don't agree with.

    Not sure if this has been brought up previously, but the typical racist type Americans would not listen to Kpop in the first place..so I'm assuming these are kpop fans from certain ethnic groups that often complain about the lack of representation in US media, and they're jealous seeing non Asians represented in Asian countries

    I’m not surprised I was pretty indifferent with whenever she did came out because I knew after the whole fiasco of how the international fans were treating Alex Ried I knew that her being an idol wasn’t going to be smooth. It is what it is. International fans are assholes. We’ve been saying this for a long time ever since DR decided to get Alex on their group. I knew that Lana didn’t have a chance that first Russian K-pop Idol stuff is not true would be considered the second Russian K-pop Idol. There was another one, but nobody paid attention to her. They just ignored her and they were kinda mean to, and if I remember correctly, didn’t even last they disbanded and if you seen her Instagram at the time she said that she was being bullied by fans and we know it’s international fans, so yeah international fans don’t have nothing better to do. They just bully and they have this idea what Asian K-pop should look like till this day some of them are still butt hurt we have black Swan. They have a long way to go. Don’t give me wrong. It’s changing slightly because when Black Swan started, it was semi garbage dumpster fire going on and later you still have people having little shit to say about the second group that has a foreigners in it that is non-Asian “Xin” if I remember correctly, JYP Hybe came out with a group that’s not considered K-pop And the international fans are still acting a little froggy like they don’t got no sense, if I remember correctly, there’s a new international Bori group that’s gonna be under a Korean company that supposed to be coming out they haven’t even debuted and people are going nuts already. Yeah I can understand they don’t fit what you would go for you got a better chance if they switch out their style and hopefully the music will be the par with this generations, taste of music for them to succeed it can happen. We do have bands that even though they don’t got big budget they’re doing pretty OK. so yeah any other ones that come after all these groups that are foreigner they’re going to have a hard time with these international fan😒🤷🏾‍♀️
