I love it so far! I really appreciate you acknowledging that painting isn't a waste of time or materials - I think we all need to hear that sometimes! :)
“An investment, not a waste.” That’s absolutely brilliant!
I never would have thought to use a soft pastel with tracing paper, what a cool idea (if a little messy)!! 😮
Another option if transferring from a digitally drawn piece is you can flip the drawing on the screen, then when you trace you do so with a pencil that lays down a lot of lead. Then you just flip the traced image over, tape it to the canvas and go over the lines either with a pencil or something like the dotting tool she used. Saves a step of having to draw repeatedly.
I have been watching your videos for at least 5 to 7 years. You've always been way to hard on yourself. But you've always made such beautiful art! Out of all the channels I've watched over the years you are the one I have never stopped watching. Also the one artist I've shopped from. I'm sure whatever way you finish this will be both entertaining and beautiful
Love your videos as always! Canvas looks so small to me because currently I'm working on a 5x3.5 meter mural painting 😹crazy how much it changes how you scale things!
I cant wait to see it all finished, it's already looking amazing! I would totally hang it up on my wall, Im truly in love!
13:10 😊 this is looking so great! I love it so much. The colors are beautiful!
You’re so going to get a projector from this video! I love how you show how to overcome not having one.
It’s so cute 😭😭😭😭😭
Ahhh just the flats look amazing. You have so much patience to do such a big piece. Keep it up I can’t wait to see the end result
It looks fantastic. So whimsical and fun. I love it!
your painting is looking great. You've got this. 😺
So cute love how this is coming together. Wonderful video to watch.
Such a fun project, I'm looking forward to part two. Have a lot of Art Catness Fun. Thank you for sharing.
This is adorable! it looks like the kitties are on a coffee date
This reminds me of Miffy the Bunny. So cute!
Great start! Can't wait to see it finished!
This looks great!! I use a charcoal pencil to make my transfers. It’s a lot less messy than the pastels. Can’t wait to see it finished!
It looks so cute so far! I look forward to seeing it finished💛
It's so cute, I love it! Can't wait to see the final!
So cute! I like the simplistic style, looks like something on a greeting card I'd send to cheer someone up.
Can't wait to see the end product
Love it’s so cute can’t wait for part 2
Really fabulous! I really REALLY enjoyed watching you paint this large canvas. Have you watched Lydia Broderick? She has a very different style, but she’s also fun to watch. Her art is more photorealistic. I like both styles, tho you two are very different. I also love Sophie McPike who paints in vivid colors as you do. Again in a completely different style. It’s cool to see how each artist develops her own style. I’m very VERY impressed. ALWAYS! I 💜💜💜you all and I appreciate the talent it takes to paint. 🥰
I love the painting and your artstyle 😊
It's looking great!
Honestly it looks great so far! And it's good to make mistakes here and there to learn from them 😊
There is an artist called Madoka kinoshita here on TH-cam. She always draws on big canvases, her art style is different but has a similar look to what you are going for. I hope you find her work interesting and helpful
Woow, you changed. New haircut, make up or something? You look soooo good.
OK, i am backing to watch ❤
I knew something was different! Her hair looks so good!!!
It's already looking so cute and I love the colors you've choosen for this project. 🤩😍
We have something similar to fika in my culture too! Ours is fasba.
Loving how the painting is turning out!
I love it! The cats are super cute and I would happily have it on my wall. I would never have thought to use pastels that way :)
Loving this!! 😻😻
That it looking so cute!! 💞 I had a silly thought about putting sushi on the cats' plates!! 😂 It's not the traditional snack, but it might be in a cats world!! 😉
Love your videos. Thank you for beeing you. You are my inspiration ❤
I just painted a 40 x 40 cm canvas and I printed out the sketch, taped it together and used graphite on the back, then traced it out, but your method works too 😅
Moriah Elizabeth's brushes and dotting tools got a real test here - they're so pretty 😊
This looks like it will be really cute when it's all done. I think it would be a gorgeous addition to a nursery or maybe you could donate it to a local paediatrics ward at your nearest hospital? It's so bright and happy looking, I bet kids would love to see it, especially if they're feeling poorly.
this is exciting!
It's so wonderful already! Like the cover of a children's book.
Loving this so much! x Nell
Love it already!
Flat colors are so cute! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ (actually everything is cute, but you got the idea, right?)
Cute!
Very pretty 😀
Eeee new video! ❤❤❤ Yay!
So cute ❤❤❤
Hey, love the finished product. But I can't help but wonder if using tracing paper for the screen and then transferring it to a cardstock to make outlines and color blocks would have been easier for you. That, or utilizing washi tape/painter's tape to avoid the outlines that you already did. Just as a suggestion of things I've seen done by other traditional painters that want to use a chunky outline.
So cute
I must be shopping at the wrong dollar store!!! This came out super adorable ❤❤❤❤
A chalk line from the hardwear store to help with the transfer
I thought it would have been a great explorer kitty piece lol
for tranfering I am using the doodle-method :D - for big pieces this method works best for me :3 - maybe it wil lhelp you next time
Things always look smaller on the stores
Alla är här för Swedish fika ☕
Hmmm, I think that good method to copy digital sjetch on canva is to use, that thing, qich use in cinemas, but i dont know the English word. In polish we can call it wyświetlacz or rzutnik. I'm with thus thing your sketch would be very well seen on canva, like movie on big screen in cinema.
Edit
OK, i see you talk about projector. 😅
You know you use transfer paper it’s for canvas as well
The painting is gorgeous so far, BUT If I may criticise, you tackled this big canvas as if it were an A4 paper illustration.
You'd have saved a lot of time and trouble if you had followed some simple steps:
1. You only needed the digital sketch.
2 draw the whole thing freely on the canvas in coloured pencils (yellow/ orange), it would have taken you less time than copying the whole thing several times.
3 paint in all the big shapes
4 paint the background around them.
5 add details, shadows, lights etc
6 draw the black lines ONLY at the end. If you really needed them.
The way you did it, you'll need to patch those black lines several more times.
👍👍👍👍💖💖💖
