I’m so sorry to hear that you lost such a great man. You’re one of a kind to help him as best as you can. He is looking down remembering what you did for him. I, myself, have been a care giver with one patient who has Alzheimer’s. He’s 81 and one of the greatest humans I’ve ever known. I have such a different view on the world now that I’ve dedicated so much time into this job. I wish you the best and thank you for sharing your story.

I lost my partner of 44 years seven days ago; you go from total exhaustion (I kept him home till he was at the end of stage 6) as his sole caregiver during the pandemic, not wanting him to go to the hospital or a care facility only to die from Covid. The end came quickly which was a blessing, but I'm lost right now, waiting for time to heal my broken heart.

Thank you so much for sharing this. My 56 year old sister was diagnosed with AD two days ago. It is heartbreaking but we are inspired by you and others.

Its very difficult to see your loved one deteriorate mentally...especially when you're the only one looking after them.
Looking after my 84 year old mother 24/7 for 2 years now.

It's ironic that when we are born we are reliant on others to rear us, care for us, teach us to walk and talk, and with this disease it happens again as we age, it's the hardest thing to watch. Xx

It’s very hard the transition....I’ve gone from being a daughter , who relied on my mum for everything, to a “mother” of a toddler sometimes , depends if I can bring her back out of it or not, more often than not , at the moment I’m glad to say , but not looking forward to the future xxx
