It's not because they are from IIT. it's because getting into IITs is tough and only top students go there. You will see the most of IITians in these unicorns are there because of their mind and not because they are from IIT. The tag didn't do hard work they did. And the other 20 plus shows that you can still be successful without IIT with only having a good brain.
But it's the shortest route to it....Anyone who has talent and resources can be successful but it is an undeniable fact that ur chances of reaching ur goals will be higher if u take the IIT route....Though I am not an IITian just an aspirant and neither I am a billionare..but judging by ur comment ur either one of them or both...cause I don't think someone as knowledgeable as u would be a hypocrite who just says these strong words without even being any of those...

I can't be a billionaire for sure but hypothetically speaking if I am from none of them and still my word is to the point, won't make me a hypocrite. As stated in my comment knowledge can be gained from everywhere. It is you who are doing it. By this I am not saying that college doesn't matter. Putting teachers apart for the sake of argument; the environment and facilities of the top colleges is a behemoth factor in itself shaping one's personality. Which ofc is crucial factor for success. But as Sachin stated or put in title, "power of IIT tag", nope it isn't the power of IIT tag. It's the power of the individual and the environment made by again the individuals like them there. This looks similar but you can get this by example of coaching institutes as you are an aspirant yourself. The institutes having AIR 1,2,3 is not because they are top notch and the teachers there have no match. Two coaching institutes may have same teachers that both teach relatively same. But the result of the branded institute will be better because the top students will go there. Then the next generation will go in same because of earlier batch. So despite the second institute having same or even maybe better teacher will have less reputation. Same goes for IITs. They don't even come into classes often cuz they are permanent (professor). It's the student that do the thing. In Bits pilani, teachers have job to lose, hence more dedicated and due to whopping amount some good teachers go into privates instead of IITs. My elder brother chose Jadavpur University IT branch over IIT Goa mechanical. He now has a 15 lpa job through campus placement. IIT tah didn't matter for him. Does IIT tag matter? Answer will be, it depends on the situation.
IIT tag works more strongly within India & actually sheds more light on the lack of quality in the rest of the Indian Tech institutes’ output. Globally, however, only one person from IIT (Jay Chaudhry) was in Forbes Top 200 Billionaires 2022…99.99% were not from there. Select IITians make great future product/team managers/CEOs in billion dollar companies owned by those 99.99%….but a track record of revolutionary risk-taking/winning lacks..not only amongst IITians but amongst Indians in general. Hope we improve the track record in the future wether IIT or not. Revolutionaries will produce revolutions regardless. It’s totally IIT-agnostic. Many of whom have been Ivy League college dropouts. We quietly hope the next set of truly powerful disrupters (and not managerial care-takers) are Indian - because producing powerful outcomes trumps all other aspects - including wether IITian or not.
And I will show you the true value of non IITian just remember me i will make sure that every IITian will remember me i will show you all that who the hell am i , i will make sure I'll be the most successful than any IITian

Thing is it does matter, many of my freinds are IITians what I learnt that they started their preparation at class 6 or 7 they tried to solve 1or 2 class higher mathematics in every class that's why their maths was strong and later during 9-10 they prepare for chem physics and in 11&12 they prepare very hard for advance and boom many of them make to IIT or they chose branch over college and prefer NIT and those who got NIT they also cracked advance but they didn't get their desired branch... My foolishness was many that I wasn't able to crack JEE 2021 infact MAIN too I accept my procrastination and Negligence... IIT tag doesn't matter is slogan for NON-IITians to boost confidence for their life otherwise they would keep sticking to JEE and curse themselves for whole life... Infact I am one of them too.. I know IIT tag does matter.. But what I want that it should be washed away from my mind... Yes IIT TAG DO MATTER NIT TAG DO MATTER...
