Our Kindergarten is your preschool and your kidergarden is our preschool.
The names are switched. So this whole time she talks about a daycare/preschool from age 3 to 6 or 7.

No Kindergarten isn't part of the school system in Germany but a private daycare. That's why you have to pay Kindergarten in Germany

Kindergarten in Germany is not a part of the school System. It IS more Like a das Care , focused ON playing. Usually, IT Starts at the age of three.

They stopped this stupid "being put in a corner" decades ago in Germany. There may be exceptions, but I only experienced it once or twice 40 years ago.

I never heard of timeout. That's so sad. You have to react to the cause of the child screaming. If it's scared you have to console it and/or distract it with games and fun. Or a task.

Over 65 years ago, this still existed in primary schools, where you had to serve your punishment outside in the hallway. There were also physical punishments. Canes, etc.
Vor über 65 Jahren gab es das noch in der Grundschule, da durfte man draußen auf dem Flur die Strafe absitzen. Es gab auch noch körperliche Strafen. Rohrstock usw.
