An Obsession With Barbel

Barbel Fishing the river is one of my favourite ways to fish these days, you just never know what your going to catch, and with the river season nearly here I revisited some of my favourite captures from last season.
Including a huge 16lb+ Barbel from the mighty River Trent.

Cant wait for Sunday morning. Caught the barbel bug last autumn and had a few chunks out the thames.
Could you recommend a a decent day ticket stretch on the trent? Would love to do 24/48 hrs up there this year as 1 bite for 6/7 outings can be a bit demoralising 😅 just as a treat.

Nice video sir. The mighty Trent. What's your opinion on loose feed and holding a shoal in your swim. I tend to go for spoding plenty of hemp out there. I'm not really into pellets tbh. Cheers pal 🥂

Thankyou, depends where I'm fishing and the flow of the river , normally I like to prebait areas where I think the fish will visit regularly and just fill it in, you can't really over do it on the rivers with bait.

If you were to try & target just the carp and not the barbel on the Trent, what approach would you take ?

Firstly Id definitely do some research on stretches where there getting caught from, then prebait.....and do short sessions few hours here and there and see what happens.
