    Good keyboards bring so much to a song. I saw a Floyd cover band at a small venue and watching the keyboardist was amazing.

    Your covers of these classic songs are just incredible. I hear many covers to PF songs. Some are good and some are not so good. There are those who add extra chords or voicings to the original and although they may sound nice, I tend to like the versions like yours which remain true to the original recordings that Rick Wright composed so brilliantly. Excellent work!

    This is insane I do believe that you have played it very perfectly , It just shocks me that Richard Wright is so old yet he plays it so perfectly in too dark & too bright places. Much respect for both of you pianists. Thank you very much for putting a real great piano tune.

I admire his work very much, I do the same work but with the electric guitar with the solos of David Gilmour, I have a Pink Floyd tribute band in Colombia for more than 15 years. but a synthesizer like you is not available, I would like to share my Pink Floyd solos since I have studied the Gilmour sound for more than 20 years. Dear Sir Andy, You play the song perfectly! And yes by far the single best version on all of YT. Finally, someone got it exactly right! I saw Pink Floyd`s tour Dark Side of the Moon at the Los Angels Forum (I think that the year was in 1974 or 1975). I am also a keyboard player to and have been playing this song for many, many years- but not playing it right... (I also play by ear) and just like everyone else I have heard the song "Time" tens of thousands of times. And even though it is a relatively slow song HOW do you remember all of those notes? ? ? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks, D

    • @AWLSynthCraft
      @AWLSynthCraft  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Dear Sir D,
      Thank you for your comment, really appreciated!
      The tricky part is the intro... there are a lot of notes and different parts to remember.
      For the rest of the song (when the Wurlitzer comes in) you need to remember the 3 chord (F#- / A / E) and play all the inversions. Here the rhythmic is very important, which gives the right keyboard flavour for this song. The chorus is much smoother...
      Hope this will helps.
      Thanks
      Andy

    Hey, Andrea, how's it going? I wanted to know how exactly you achieved those Farfisa and Synth Bass sounds. What plug-ins, vsts or settings did you use to make them sound like that? I've been trying to recreate those on my own for a while, but, for some reason, nothing I try sounds quite right. Could you help me with that? Anyway, thanks for the awesome tutorial.

    i can't hear the left hand at all :( :(
    and i can't always see which black keys are being pressed.
    i wish there was a visual for this b/c i want to learn it but i can't hear or see the left hand rhythms.

    • @b_markovic
      @b_markovic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wright didn't play most of the left hand rhythms in the actual song. In the intro it's mostly Gilmour on guitar. In the verses it's mostly Waters on bass. Rick does play some left hand bass notes in the odd bars on the Wurly, but on every start of every even bar he holds the bass note (F# or E on verses) on a VCS for that groany tuba sound you hear. The verse chords go F#m, A, E, F#m, and the bridge goes DMaj7, AMaj9, DMaj7, AMaj9, DMaj7, C#m7, Bm7, E. The song is flat-down in F#minor so all the black keys are C#, F# and G#. You can easily figure out the inversions from his playing but really, being a jazz-guy, Rick Wright simply does it in very closed voicing to economize hand movement and it always helps with voice leading as well. The only chord that's odd is the last one, to transition to EmAdd9 in Breathe (Reprise) which also means modulation to Emin that the Breathe is in, which Andrea plays as Bm7b5, but I believe the Floyd actually make that one a F/B - which opens it up and leads into the EmAdd9.

    Can the keyboard parts in this song be categorized as the rhythm parts, while the guitar are playing the lead ? I’m having a hard time to differentiate the parts between guitar and keyboard in my band and might just follow how pink floyd did it

    • @AWLSynthCraft
      @AWLSynthCraft  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jose,
      I think you can categorise them as you said... The Wurly is playing rhythmic parts here, while the guitar is adding counterpoints to the main vocal.

      Hey,
      It is a Wurlitzer in both parts, but with different effects.
      At the beginning it is softer, with chorus, tremolo and long reverb.
      After it is going through an guitar amp. Much more sharp and aggressive.
