  • Coquerel's sifaka (Propithecus coquereli) is a charismatic primate native to the dry forests of northwestern Madagascar. Known for its striking appearance, this medium-sized lemur boasts a distinctive coat of long, silky fur, primarily white with bold orange markings on its back and limbs. Notably, its face is framed by a dark mask, accentuating its expressive golden eyes. Agile and arboreal, Coquerel's sifaka is an adept leaper, using its powerful hind limbs to cover considerable distances between trees. Their diet primarily consists of leaves, flowers, and fruits. Unfortunately, like many lemurs, Coquerel's sifaka faces threats from habitat loss and fragmentation, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts in preserving Madagascar's unique biodiversity.
