You do not have to remove the wires. Take your razor blade and cut around the gasket where the wires are. With your new gasket, slice from the middle opening towards the bottom of gasket. That way the wires are never cut and the new gasket slips over the wires. The only way you will notice the gasket is cut is by looking under the mirror. Also if you need the gaskets we sell them. Marcus I need to check my passenger side mirror wires for a short. Power seats and steering column keeps blowing fuse in my 1996 S500. Do you have any advise ?
