Great Video, Just had to both my left and right side , they were "smoking" like the last guybut I did a double shrink wrap system on the bare wires and I think its the best as the wires go back and forth when they fold and they can't be bulky. ALso I'm sure you know by now but the EC button on thedash is a "compressor off" button. The Germans will go out of their way to not do something the same so they have an off button and not an on button. use it only if you want fresh non cooled air to come out.Thanks for the Help and for doing this Video

dude i literally have the same issue with AC not working and burning fuses just because my side mirror wires are dried and messed up already :D mercedes were overthinking when creating this :DD is your 95 s500L like mine? i see restyle mirrors and black+grey color of the car... just wondering?
hi peter i got a 98cl600 and my mirrors were just as bad it is really quite scary that they can get so bad and i just wrapped insulating tape round all the wires,btw the actual smoke on mine were coming from the microchip on the bottom corner of mirror and i could see some of the plastic had melted around that chip but once fixed up everything was ok,i believe if i or you just kept adjusting the mirrors when the smoke was coming out it would eventually burn this chip out and the mirror would be useless.i think also when i adjusted my steering wheel i would get smoke from the mirror.once both your mirrors are insulated everything should be fine but the big question is how is your A.C fuse
ray croal yes and exactly what im going for on look but with a much easier engine to work on. I am going to be painting (or first plasti dip) bottom of car matt black and putting on rims soon
The side mirror that is currently on my s500 is broken due to the previous owner broken metal brackets. I got another one from my local Craigslist, as soon as i hook it up. The fuse blew due to a wires were exposed. Now I have to open it up and reshrink the wires individually. How long it took you to do the whole project? Also any luck with the center vents that I ask you about? My center vents is not blowing any air. As always, keep up the good job. Thanks.
Juan Milo it was a long project for me because i couldnt find any video on removing internal parts. After i figured out it wasnt bad but expect a few hours to rewire. I'm going to snag the diagnostics for my other car so I can give you the parts or at least an idea of what needs to be done for the AC
Juan Milo i greatly appologize i have searched everywhere to find the sheet that has the diagnosis on the ac vents. I do know the vacuum piece that is broken is located behind the passenger glove box and cost to fix at my shop here was $400 with labor. My guess is it can be fixed for under $100
Thank you for your prompt reply. My husband has managed to fix the problem. The mirror blinker wasn't working and he couldn't seem to get the cables out. He's fixed the blinker but now I cannot adjust the left outside mirror by using the button on the driver side door. ..
Peter Davidson , sorry for late reply. The technical gremlins hid your response from me. Basically, the problem is that my husband managed to fix the left wing mirror blinker, but now I can't adjust the angle of my wing mirror from the inside using the electronic button. I have a Mercedes Class A year 2007.

Thanks! OMG! _ mirror metal piece has a lip to set it in with, but i agree with using a BIt of silicone for sure!
Yes there is a way to set it but my tabs were broken or at least they couldn’t hold the glass

ray croal yes all is good with all wires and ac. Basically the heater they intall in mirror will blow ac fuse when it shorts

Winston L start with fuses. They are common to pop. If fuse pops right away there is a short.
