India made those type of pitches in every one of their games and even in some other games. Concerns were raised, Rahul said pitches were fine and disagreed with the ICC's pitch ratings. Indian team and the fans got what they deserved. Now I see them crying on YT, absolutely pathetic. You have no idea how sweet is this victory.
My 2 cents on the loss: 1. When you try to influence or tamper the pitch to your convenience ultimately it comes to bite you. They tried in semis too by using a used surface which would potentially reduce inpact of NZ quicks and increase spinners chances. However the wankhede despite being a used pitch still offered plenty of runs. In final if they had prepared a batting deck, they would have been more fearful of Head, Marsh, Warner taking away the game, so again they tried dry surface but ultimately it was they who came out sluggish and were streamrolled. I doubt even on flat pitch india would have won. As top 3 aus could have caused more damage. But we would never know 2. Rohit dismissal and approach. Like the rest of india i too loved rphit for his selfless approach throughout. But today was the day he could have tweaked his approach. He did the hard work scored 40 odd quickly but threw his wkt away even when gill was dismissed cheaply. He left too much without knowing how they will fare. In t20 match 47 of 30 would have been perfect but odi you need lot more
I agree. Rohit was amazing. So was Kohli until he got unlucky. I felt that maybe Rahul could have taken on more responsibility by getting aggressive, especially with the greatest batsman of all time, at the peak of his powers at the other end. The thing I agree most on is that the BCCI should have provided a fast, even fast pitch and let India’s batsmen play their natural dominating game. The BCCI needed to back their players and give them that confidence. The insecurity of the BCCI shone through here.
@@jehanariyaratnam2874I don’t think that the BCCI were afraid of losing, until the final. 5-6 out of the top 11 best players in the tournament were had been Indian until that point. This is Australia's greatest ever World Cup win, because it was against the greatest opposition we have ever had. The Indian team was spectacularly good, and they played a very good game. Unfortunately they met an Australian team who were playing a perfect game.
God even you fell for the Indian propaganda machine. The Kiwis in 2015 were better than this Indian team. How many Indians would get selected in the Australian team? Maybe 2, no more than 3. Indians seem to think that if they tell everyone how great they are for long enough then it will suddenly become true. India are a good team at home where every advantage is theirs. Generally, a team has to win a few tournaments before they earn the right to chirp on about how fkn amazingly dominant, unbeatable, and wonderful they are.
I don't understand all the carry on about the coin toss and the pitch...........if Rohit had of won the toss he was going to bat first anyway............bloody get over it. Outcaptained, outsmarted, outplayed
Please everyone! Stop blaming on the pitch. I see it as a 300-run pitch but Australia bowled superbly in CWC final and clearly was the deserved victor.
India created the pitch to their liking, selected the environment and still lost the match after being 80 runs in first 10 overs. Instead of all this they should have focused on playing brave cricket and would and won the gave. Afghanistan played better against Australia than India did today.
@@bloodangels-sonsofsanguini7992 No. He is alleging unfair advantage. My question is where is your proof that the pitch was designed to produce an unfair advantage? On what basis do you state that there was deceit / manipulation / an intent to sway the outcome of the game on the basis of the pitch. Second question is by your definition you have set for India, has ANY OTHER NATION done this on their home soil or continue to do so?
It was a tactical masterclass with the ball after winning the toss and fielding (against conventional wisdom) to restrict this Ind batting line up to a sub par 240… then an abs masterpiece from heady (ably supported by marn) to secure a 6th CWC title and more importantly “THE DOUBLE”… it’s Australia doing Australia things maaaaate… CMON!
Spot on mate. But you should also focus on how many batsman are there who can bowl a couple of overs. Keep in mind that Australia played Maxwell as a second spinner and a main bowler for whole tournament. Head, Maxwell, Smith, Stoinis, Green, Marsh, Marnus all can bowl if required. If by any chance someone comes who can bowl 3-5 overs he is dropped or discouraged or not given proper development. This trend started from Dhoni before that under Ganguly's captaincy Sehwag, Sachin, Ganguly everyone use to bowl 5-7 overs. If your batsman can't chip in some overs you are a vey limited team who can't improvise or think out of the box when a lead bowler is having a bad day. That's why India haven't won a T20 WC because its a game of allrounders. 2007 was just due to other teams not taking it seriously and to make the IPL huge success.
Bazball, what a joke that became. They even doctored the wickets to suit their batting and couldn't get the Ashes back. Yes I am biased but I think right now Australia is pretty much undisputed World champs in all formats, even in the T20 world cup 2022 we were stiff to miss out in the top 2 at the group stage after the game against England was abandoned. England won the lot in the end but we only missed finals on net run rate after winning 3 and losing one against the Kiwis on a deck that suited the Kiwis.Pretty stupid that Pakistan got through with 3 wins and 2 losses.
And the Poms even had the audacity to say that they were better "man for man" than the Aussies despite being sent home early after their miserable showing in this tournament. They're a special lot, that's for sure

India has been winning due to bowling . period. That's what we needed. Their batting was over hyped. Rohit at top was proving such good starts that others were cashing on that.Shreyas is t20 player, who wasn't in any pressure till today. Kohli was engrossed in milestones, so today couldn't break shackles to hit fast. Surya was never tested, and got away with 10/15 runs earlier as india was scoring 300+,still Dravid persisted with him today while Ashwin replacing him would have been 6th bowler option. Half of indian batters can go back to making millions in ipl now, so no fighting spirit.
Mate you can't say it was just the bowling. India batted well throught the tournament most of the matches scoring high scores when batting first except against England and this match, and chasing well and to a plan. Shreyas got runs after the first 5 matches, kohli was the highest run getter throught the whole tournament, Rohit gave India aggressive starts, supported well by Gill, Rahul was consistent. The only concern I felt was SKY. We just have to accept Australia were better on the day.

Why BCCI let india play in this horrible pitch in Ahmedabad if there is no other good pitch in Ahmedabad why didnt you select different venue for final, why not a good pitch like mumbai. BCB should answer this question and this joy shah is responsible for this failure, he should resign because he selected this Ahmedabad venue and the pitch for final.

Surya Kumar put India under massive pressure as he didn't deliver even in a single match. Labelled as 360 player and hyped than the legend AB de Villiers but he delivered nothing and his shot selections were LKG school boys cricket, simply trying to hit by not recognising the ball speed is ridiculous. He took singles in first and second ball and rotating with tail enders is no brain cricket. He is not an international player but IPL player. Never should be allowed to play in Indian jersey. Kumble said Shreyas contributed well in middle order so far and there is no other batters had guts to hit 4s and 6s.
match was lost due to pitch . Smith , Warner , Travis head , Labuschagne and Mitch Marsh also play test cricket as batsmen and experienced who can bat well on any surface. India on the other hand have players like Gill , Kl RAHUL ,Iyer and suryakumar who bat well only on flat wickets . India should have chosen a flat wicket which is their strength
I don’t understand why such a great cricketer like kumble afraid to comment on pitch. It’s obvious pitch was terrible, not watered properly to assist slow spin bowlers. Toss plays a crucial role in these pitches with dew coming in later half. Toss decides who wins the game. Any common cricketer fan clearly see it is two different pitch batting first and second. If there was any external influence on pitch making other than icc needs to be questioned.
All ex-Indian cricketers are spineless. Kumble is no exception. He lied through his teeth with that answer, so he deserves no respect. I am sure Tom Moody would have quietly muttered to himself “what a wimp”. BCCI and Indian team management should be ashamed of these pitches (not just this pitch. The test pitches have been horrendous and downright cheating the game of cricket).

People blaming viral is laughable considering he makes up for a slow start towards the end and has that ability. India lost cost Australia planned better and some luck went their way. Also rohit didn't help in the field. Spreading the field out like india had 280 to play with and then when jadeja and kuldeep were brought on he didn't even have slips in! What was he thinking! Two blantant edges went were first slip would have been. Head even edged when that turned but no slip in! I rather the field was up atleast the batsmen have to take a risk, but he stuck to spreading it out! Australia were not going to fall into that and gift their wickets in the a wc final, you have to outsmart them and get them to make a mistake. He has lead the side brilliantly but missed a trick in the final. Having said that India played well throughout the whole tournament , Australia were the better team on the day and credit to them, they planned better, were smart in bowling and field placements and stuck to a plan in the batting when they went 3 down.
The Indian team in 2003, 2007 and in 2011 were better teams than the present Indian team. The competition was very different back then. In 2011, they won. In 2007, half of them were out of form and the rest half didn't know if they would play or not-the team morale was gone after Chappell fiasco. In 2003, they were in the finals and lost to Australia. The 2003-07 Australian team is the greatest team of all time! The present Australian team is nothing compared to that team in the ODI's or Test matches. The present Indian team has only two proper/consistent/experienced batsmen in ODIs in Kohli and Rohit. The bowling is probably better. The present fast bowling trio have been in great form and performing well consistently.
Maybe 3 Indian players maximum would get a game in the Australian team. All the hype and self fellating in the media about how dominant and powerful the mighty Indians are, and it's nothing but over inflated propaganda.

This Choking was happening Pre and Post Dhoni. But I dont think, this team are chokers, Australia just wanted it more, and planned it well. And Australia has ICC Finals Pedigree If you look at it, Cummins, Smith, Warner, Maxwell, Starc, Zampa, Hazlewood have all won atleast one White ball trophy and each of them (Minus Zampa) have played multiple finals , India only has Virat and Rohit with prior world cup experience. Familiarity leads to clarity, clarity leads to confidence. Australians had the know how of what to do in a Final, India just doesnt have the same experience.
I know all the talk about Pandya but the bloke you missed is Rishabh Pant, he can take the game away from the opposition really quickly. I take it he is injured, if he batted 6 today things may have been different.

if not for KL India wouldn't have scored even 200. Have some faith in your players man. Also you are asking to drop the highest ODI run scorer in 2023. How stupid are you guys. Anyhow in the end justice was served. India got what they deserved
The World Cup was made into a political arena by BJP and RSS. They knew Indians were attracted in droves to Cricket so they decided to take advantage of it for their own benefit. It was all a grand setup: Jay Shah, the son of Amit Shah was appointed as the BCCI secretary, and the biggest stadium was named after Modi - which is against all accepted norms of not naming anything after a living person - was chosen as the venue. They were absolutely certain that India would win. That's why they sent thousands of BJP and RSS workers disguised as fans and they started singing Hanuman Chalsi in the stadium - what a shame! Their grand idea was, that India would win the trophy and they would first take it to the new Ram Temple at Ayudhya, as if it was won by Modi and his party. After that, they would have taken it to all temples around the country as part of their election campaign - a showpiece for the glory of Hindutva. Kohli and Rohit and all other players would have been relegated to insignificance. So, taking everything into consideration it's actually better Australia won it - sad to say, but that's what will happen if politics and religion are mixed with sports!
Please save the NaMo stadium for things like Trump Visit and not for actual cricket matches let alone a world cup final. This pitch was a joke, the toss win/loss decided a big part of the outcome because of the pitch bias. Also a reality check for cocky Indian fans who totally threw humility out of the gates long time back.
Why then were all the Indian cricket pundits stating that it was a win toss/bat first decision?? It was quite evident from previous match at Ahmedabad that dew and conditions would make batting second would be easier. Why then was Rohit also thinking to bat first?! Makes no sense to me. secondly, KL , SKY and Jaddu played 60 dot balls - ie 10 maiden overs. Even a 70 strike rate with singles would've added 40 more runs. I think they just froze under pressure!
Traditional toss wisdom, always better to set a target than it is to chase one - less pressure on the first team to bat since you don't really have a target until you figure out the pitch. It takes guts to buck the trend, Australia took the shot and it paid off.

They dominated everyone with both bat and ball, and Rohit’s tactics were very good.
The BCCI need to back their players more. India’s 2nd 11, maybe even 3rd 11 could beat most international teams.

@@kosan2875 I’m an Aussie, mate.
Thanks Australia for save us from noise pollution😂😂😂
Please everyone! Stop blaming on the pitch. I see it as a 300-run pitch but Australia bowled superbly in CWC final and clearly was the deserved victor.
India created the pitch to their liking, selected the environment and still lost the match after being 80 runs in first 10 overs. Instead of all this they should have focused on playing brave cricket and would and won the gave. Afghanistan played better against Australia than India did today.

I really think out of 5 bowlers most of them should be able to bat and field well , so the batsmen could have taken risks between overs 20 to 40.
Because the bottom four can't even hold the bat out makes the batsmen worried.
Anyone remember a couple months ago when England were claiming they were “changing” the game.

Australia, real champions, India? chokers.
He took singles in first and second ball and rotating with tail enders is no brain cricket. He is not an international player but IPL player. Never should be allowed to play in Indian jersey. Kumble said Shreyas contributed well in middle order so far and there is no other batters had guts to hit 4s and 6s.
There was no slip for the spinner sums up all the credentials
match was lost due to pitch .
India said they would have batted if they’d won the toss, so the toss played zero part in the outcome.

Bit different to the last few days videos. Didn't India just have to turn up and they would win?

One of the easiest world cup wins in history.
Good news is that its only another 4 years till the silverware is up for grabs again.

This pitch was a joke, the toss win/loss decided a big part of the outcome because of the pitch bias.
Also a reality check for cocky Indian fans who totally threw humility out of the gates long time back.
Replace rahul with samson or rishab pant
Those useless prematch conferences should be stopped. Hardik missed today
Selfish player Kohli got the undeserved award he played for.kl Rahul strike strite even after facing 100 balls is poor.
