Being a true Delawarean who have lived other places and came back home,Delaware used to be a nice place to live and very inexpensive but now its getting outrageous in state taxes and property. People think they get a big break in not paying sale taxes but they get you in other ways. Most Delaware folks go to the surrounding states to shop and for entertainment. I'm wondering why everyone is running here,when there is no night life,no single person will find love here. The city has nothing to offer and yes its plenty of restaurants and over price cheaply made or done over apartments. Only three major highways and many back roads that end up back onto the same road you got off. New folks don't know that most of the property that they think is great has been swamp land or contaminated land that they back filled to build on it. Developers are buying all the farm land and popping up houses for plenty money that most cant afford with all them windows your going to have to replace in 10 years with all that cheap builders grade crappy materials. Delaware government is letting them builders build all these home close to eachother about 500 homes in one development with a shabby ass infrastructure that cant maintain the over population of the by ways and highways. There is nowhere to go. They arent doing enought for the roads and highways. They are building houses fadter then roads for people to travel. If there is to be a natural disaster i affraid the people will parish by the hundreds. We will all be trapped. Especially in the bear Middletown area. Delaware has the highest cases of cancer and alot of there laws they had in The 1800 is still on the books. 😂 I remember at a time no one wanted to live here or stop for gas ,it was always a pass through,no one knew they pass through. 😂😂😂 Blk business are quick to start but are never successful. Delaware folks don't spend money for anything here,they go elsewhere. Not many big named celebrities come here because people do t want to pay the big prices they charge as if they are in a big city. Big time celebrities know they aren't going to make money here so they go to Philly or Maryland, Washington areas. 😂😂 if you are married with kids this is the place to be,but then your kids will get board and rebell if they are teens. It's definitely isn't anything here for them if it's not school related and that system used to be the best but it's cracking at the seems,teacher pay isn't worth the headache. Road rage has went up but they say that's coming from the people whom are from NY,NJ,MD because they are fast pa e and Delaware don't move that fast. No busses run after 11pm.😂 Delaware is a 2.5 hrs ride from north Wilmington to slower lower Delaware south and about 35 miles from east to west. Out of states and newbies need to know you don't have to speed around to get anywhere. You can't beat traffic when your already in traffic. 😂😂

Delaware is a lovely option. Tax free. Yes, as with any city (Wilmington) there are going to be some issues. However, there parts of Wilmington that are ultra high end and exclusive. $2,200 a month for rent is the norm now most anywhere in the U.S. decent that you go! Anyone saying otherwise is being unrealistic. I love the First State! Very comfortable “soft life” living here.

I'm from Delaware born and raised. It's not a lot of entertainment but not having taxes on goods makes up for it. That's why a lot of heads from New Jersey and PA come down here for boxes of cigarettes.
Not all neighborhoods in Delaware are clean. A lot of the new homes they are building in Delaware come with HOA fees. Delaware do clean our shopping plaza and malls. There are cheaper places to live in Delaware. They are at a new development property that was built by 10 years ago.
If you move the Delaware move where the money at. Greenville, North Star, Pike Creek, Old Newark in back of the University college, Old New Castle, North Wilmington, Talleyville anything past Middletown and Smyrna they also overpopulated.

Plenty of restaurants and liquor stores. Delaware has never been up and coming ever and never will. Three major roads that no one can travel now because its densely populated and they are only building houses with no roads to get out of them development s.
