First of all I love your videos. I think if you bobby pin the curled part to the root of your braid and then dip the rest maybe not in a pot but in a cup or a bowl then you would save the curly end. You are my favorite of all the TH-cam hair stylists and instructors. Thank you so much.

So my hair is not even an inch longer than yours and I have been on the fence on whether I would be able to braid some jumbo braids with my natural short hair and I’ve been braiding my hair for years but not a pro braider. After almost a week of being undecided on if I should try or not, you made this look so simple and it came out beautiful so I’m def doing them tomorrow. I don’t have the patience to do smaller braids and I need to get these done in a day. Thank you !! 💜 I’ll let you know how it comes out. ☺️

As someone else mentioned in the comments, braiding them together before the hot water dip makes/keeps it curly. Just make sure to un-braid it AFTER the hair dries not before. This ensures a tighter, long lasting curl.
If you want to keep the curly ends, braid the loose ends together tightly before dipping it in hot water. Each time I have my braids with wavy/curly ends, hot water has never been a problem.
If you want the curly ends to remain curly when you dip them you have to plait the ends (so like plait 2/3 braids at a time just the ends before dipping them) and then unplait them and they’ll be curly ❤️

If u want them to have curly ends put curling rods in the ends and then dip them in the hot water
You can also braid a bunch of the ends together and then put them in hot water
