Another disadvantage of trying to use your ship weapons to shoot the bad guys outside is because usually your weapons are offset from the ship centreline it's easy to hit things you didn't intend to. Put one hit on one of those turrets, for example, and they'll just open up on you which is usually game over.
There is a common bug about drag and drop. Sweep your cursor over your inventory and then over your worn gear and then back over to the gun on the ground. I think you will find that trick clears the issue of the mouse cursor not recognizing things on the ground and sometimes in hand.
If anyone doesn’t already know ALWAYS TURN OFF THE ENGINES when you leave, I’ve been in many of times my ship floats 30 feet too high and leaves you stranded 😂 Great video my man.
4:20 this was one of the worst drawbacks of removing the old inventory system. Because originally when you would respawn in your nursa or medical vehicle of choice. Using the I menu you would have a beacon suit and helmet every time you die. With inventory all being physicalized now we lost this feature which I'm sure somebody is super psyched about because it's more " realistic" but it's also gameplay wise more frustrating
I’m all for realism, but it’s sometimes a tad much, being able to just open my ship’s inventory was so easy and time efficient. Hopefully they find a better solution
@SpookyGrim yeah, I wouldn't mind using the personal inventories if they actually worked half the time. And I wouldn't mind having to make sure I store extra gear on my ship if I didn't lose my ship every 15 minutes to a server crash or bug. Hell I had my ship filled with goodies from the last 2 days. Just yesterday. When I got on I thought " gee, it's been awhile. I should probably store this stuff at home before something happens" sure enough I get to area 18 and as I'm slipping into the hanger my ship gets ripped from me and I get repositioned. Pay a fine for some reason for illegal parking and then my ship is just set to unknown. Lost everything. They want the game to function like a live product but it's just not there yet. So stop adding mechanics like it is.
I really like these types of FPS missions as well. It is cool to see groups of players gear up and assault the bunker with ground vehicles. The layouts of the bunker need to be updated to make it more interesting. Perhaps CIG will let us use the silo ladder outside to enter the facility a different way or add a nearby cave that connects to the bunker. If CIG implemented an alert system for players to know when an assault like this could lead to some cool player interactions. Imagine being in your ship in a QT jump when you get a signal that an assault is happening in your sector. You drop out of QT and head for the location. Upon arriving in orbit you find another player en route to the same orbital marker. You get on COMMs and sync with the other player for the fight to take back the bunker.
When you’re doing bunkers with like 5+ people it’s incredibly fun. We did a whole odst drop with a carrack we was using as a mothership and being all tacticool, sometimes this game is amazing and nothing like it, but having different bunker types would be fun, because after a while we’re clearing bunkers as fast as they spawned in, some shake up would keep it more interesting.
I notice that whenever I can't drag something into my backpack, if I hover my mouse over the backpacks inventory, then try again. it works. I think 29 min to loot is long enough.
good video! I think it would have been worth including how to get the armor / clothing off of the bodies you took with you, because that is not obvious. it usually won't drag directly from the body to your backpack, and it won't drag directly into your loot box either.
When I try to grab stuff lying around while in the I-Inventory mode it will often not work... until I mouse-hover over an item in my own inventory or an item I have equipped. So I just quickly point to myself and I can then grab it up. Second biggest reason is simply opening inventory too far away from the item. Edit, also if you just pick up the weapon, then if the ammo clip is visible you can remove that from the weapon and put on your person or in your inventory. Ammo is golden.
If it's not letting you grab something in inventory view, hover over with your cursor on the left side one of your armor's inventory box, it will fix the highlight bug for that moment.
Thanks for the vid! I'm super enjoying playing SC atm, where can i get those storage boxes from you have in your ship? My ship doesn't have it's own storage so that could fix that problem for me 🙂
you can buy them from the cargo center that's located in most of the space stations. You can also get them from some of the stores that sell components.

Been playing the 4.0 preview and I legit thought I couldn’t do that anymore because of that. Glad to know it’s a bug lol

An interesting change to your usual content, I'm all for it :D

I run an Ursa medivac in my MSRs cargo bay for my respawn as it also lets me roll into trespass points.
Used to be that the turrets would fire at you if you put a friendly NPC body in your ship, so I'm glad they fixed that.

Really looking forward to better combat AI.
