Now I know how it feels to fall in love again. Aside from being gorgeous-beyond-belief here, Ms. Mills is the epitome of class, style, & grace, just breathtaking. Amazing how she blossomed in the few short years between "Pollyanna" & her appearance on this popular CBS game-show. It's hard-to-believe but "What's My Line" aired at what now seems a very unusual time-slot---Sunday nights at 10:30. How odd is that? I never saw the show, as I was a young-child when this aired in '65, long in bed by 10:30 on a Sun. night, with school the next morning! I have no recollection of ever seeing the show in the summer, either, as generally it still would've been considered far too late for me to stay-up! I imagine my parents watched, though, on a regular basis. I had a huge crush on Hayley in those years & know I would've been thrilled to see her on any show under any circumstances! Personally, I think the American southern-accent she used to mislead the panel is quite-good. I'm not sure why she was ribbed about it, primarily by Steve Allen, whom I've always liked & enjoyed. I know it was meant in harmless, good-fun but seemed a little unfair. The actress handled it with humor & aplomb, though, in a thoroughly-professional, good-natured manner. Yes, it's really nice to fall in love with Ms. Mills all over again---and I could listen to her unique, glorious accent forever!
I developed a crush on her when I saw her in "The Parent Trap." A part of me still does as we have grown older. I even enjoyed seeing her on "Saved By The Bell." Love you, Hayley!
Hayley Mills she was feeling like new 🆕 picture awards TCM hollywood movies 🎥 Hollywood studios live in line with oasr awesome and make sure most of them are in Disney world and Disneyland Disney company class starts at Walt Disney
Hayley thought she was fat and unattractive at this stage in her life. She wasn't, but she became bulimic and became unhealthily thin. Poor girl had terrible issues with insecurities, low self esteem and depression. Who'd have thought?
"That Darn Cat" debuted in the U.S.A on December 2, 1965, so Hayley was 19 in this clip and busy filming "The Trouble with Angels"...another great comical family flick.
She usually had short hair in her movies, as the pic shows her in "That Darn Cat!" here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayley_Mills. Her co-star in 'The Parent Trap', Joanna Barnes turned 80 last November (2014), while Hayley is now 68.
I remember when she was in the Disney films, "Pollyanna", "The Parent Trap", In Search of the Castaways", "Summer Magic", "The Moon Spinners", and "That Darn Cat."
They obviously are happy to see each other as Hayley's walking out, like old friends, and Joanna makes a funny reference to "two young ladies up there" considering Hayley's dual roles in The Parent Trap.
Hayley in this one was trying to mimic a French accent in this one. I liked the part in "The Parent Trap" where Susan imitates Sharon's accent. It cracks me up whenever she takes the "Can't" and says "Cahn't". Hayley,I love you SO much!
She was so amazingly cute in Disney's Summer Magic. I was 13 when I saw her in that and I was mesmerized by her beauty. I think every young boy going through puberty fell in love with her that summer when they saw her in that movie.
Joanna Barnes also had a minor part in the 1990's version of the Parent Trap playing the mother of the "gold digger", the character she played in the earlier Hayley Mills version.
Thanx for reminding us about the "Saved by the Bell" Indianapolis prototype with Miss Bliss. This means there is one degree of separation between Mark Paul Gosselaar and Bennett Cerf.
Disney hired Hailey for a number of movies that were not British, and yet I remember that it did not seem odd. Hailey always seems utterly convincing and sincere in those Disney movies. Joanna Barnes, who worked with Hailey as the female villain in The Parent Trap, looks overjoyed to see her again, but "The Parent Trap" could not have been much fun for either one of them. Hailey had to act in front of a lot of special effects work, and Joanna was the butt of several physical humor things.
I wish I knew you then, I would've paid you just to sit in the back and watch. I only had a paper route at the time but I woulda saved enough to make it worth your while.
and after Hayley is fully grown, Disney hired Alexis Bledel (best known for her role in 2005's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) instead for 2002's Tuck Everlasting as the mysterious girl whom the boy liked.
Wow! I never knew that. I love what little I've heard of Kula Shaker. They spearheaded a kind of 70's revival movement if I'm remembering correctly. I've got to look them up.
+Larrytheloser so what...its far more respectful then the famous who show EVERYTHING in films/Playboy etc...so what..Hayley is still TODAY RESPECTFUL, WORKING, FAMILY ORIENTED AND HAS A SON. And same for her sister Juliet.
+keri caye Agree 100%, Keri. Hayley's awesome. But you have to consider that she shocked people almost 50 years ago. She was so cute and lovable and nobody expected to see her buns on the screen. I actually have an autographed photo of Hayley in my home office (not naked, of course)
Hayley must've been 17 or 18 when she did this. The way she spoke French in this must've means she must've took French. And I like the way she giggled was a amazing thing for Miss Mills.
I remember being fond of Hayley Mills when she was in "The Parent Trap". She's still alive, 77 years old as of middle 2023, born in April 1946.
You all MUST see 'The Trouble with Angels" that Miss Mills made with the divine Roz Russell. Its such a funny, touching film.
I love it.
Hayley Mills voice in a (even if it's not so good) southern accent is enough to make me melt for sure!
I love Hayley Mills. She has always been wonderful
Must agree that Miss Hayley Mills is gorgeous……. love all her movies……. daughter of British actor, Sir John Mills…… an awesome talented family..

WOW! Late 1965!
At that time Hayley was filming "The Trouble with Angels" which came out in the spring of 1966.
I would've known who it was the second I heard her voice, her's is truly unique.
I developed a crush on her when I saw her in "The Parent Trap." A part of me still does as we have grown older. I even enjoyed seeing her on "Saved By The Bell."
Love you, Hayley!
First crush when I was 8.
She's a very widespread first crush.
she was stunningly beautiful
Hayley Mills was always beautiful.

she will always be one of my favorite people. :)
I still love Hayley after all these years
She exhales while she talks so that is so distinctive about Hayley Mills - I love her so much :D
She looks so pretty.Hayley is amazing.
She was absolutely stunning. Gorgeous.
Loved her in everything she did. Especially the Disney movies.
She was also one of the teachers in Saved By The Bell. That was before Kelly, Slater, and Jesse came onto the show.

USCTrojan65
Neither stunning nor gorgeous but pretty and likeable.
@@Celisar1 you need some glasses and a few tests after that comment.
I remember when she was in the Disney films, "Pollyanna", "The Parent Trap", In Search of the Castaways", "Summer Magic", "The Moon Spinners", and "That Darn Cat."
she was gorgeous
I loved Joanna Barnes' reaction when she saw Hayley x
Sheer delight 😊
I also love that she later gave her a big kiss ❤️
They obviously are happy to see each other as Hayley's walking out, like old friends, and Joanna makes a funny reference to "two young ladies up there" considering Hayley's dual roles in The Parent Trap.
@thadxxx yes she is british her sister was juliet mills and her dad was john mills
Hayley was and still is adorable!
So great to see Hayley greeting her antagonist from The Parent Trap, panelist Joanna Barnes !!!
I had the biggest crush on Hayley Mills. When she played twins "Parent Trap", I wanted to do a menage a trois.
Joanna Barnes looks tickled that it's Hayley. So cute, especially since they weren't exactly the best of friends in "The Parent Trap." :)
Hayley in this one was trying to mimic a French accent in this one. I liked the part in "The Parent Trap" where Susan imitates Sharon's accent. It cracks me up whenever she takes the "Can't" and says "Cahn't". Hayley,I love you SO much!

The scene with the piano movers had one of them falling for her too.
It's such a thrill for me to see these celebrities behave as themselves, as I have only seen them in films.
Hayley acted with Joanna Barnes in the Parent Trap.
She was so bloody cute, She does a cute southern and French accent, but I have no complaints about her natural British one.
Joanna Barnes! Fabulous!!!
It’s weird Joanna Barnes didn’t figure it out especially since she was in The Parent Trap with her lol
I would have known her at her first sentance. Her voice is unmistakable
The first two words out of her mouth screamed 'Hayley Mills'.
I would have known that voice, it's sweet and breathy. Only one person sounded like that.. I never saw her when she was older ( than 12 or 13).
Also, the other 2 movies that I know that she was in were "Tiger Bay" (her first film), and "Whistle Down The Wind."
I could totally reconize her just by her voice if I was one of those judges!
she looks cute here, for sure, and a charming personality
Very young and very brilliant!
I could have guessed it was her right when she cleared her throat the first time.
I love her!
Joanna Barnes also had a minor part in the 1990's version of the Parent Trap playing the mother of the "gold digger", the character she played in the earlier Hayley Mills version.
Her southern voice sounds like Penelope Pitstop.
And Penelope Pitstop wasn't even created yet.
To be fair to Joanna, she hadn't seen Hayley in four years and her voice has probably changed a little since she was fourteen.
Thanx for reminding us about the "Saved by the Bell" Indianapolis prototype with Miss Bliss. This means there is one degree of separation between Mark Paul Gosselaar and Bennett Cerf.

Who doesn’t love Hayley!
I LOVE the movie "That Darn Cat!"
Have you seen "The Cinema Snob's" review of that movie?
They had to have known immediately--no one else has a voice like that. I'm surprised they didn't have the host speak for her.
When the "Cat" films were being announced, and Arlene Francis said, "...and now YOUR cat" I about fell out!
Great memories for me as an apprentice hairdresser in the 60’s I used to shampoo Ms. Mills hair at Riche of Hay Hill.
I wish I knew you then, I would've paid you just to sit in the back and watch. I only had a paper route at the time but I woulda saved enough to make it worth your while.
Good morning, Miss Bliss!!
xchris82 I totally forgot about that she was on the first season of "Saved By The Bell"
Happy birthday Haley!
THAT is how she signs her name! I knew that when she wrote the "M" in "Mills"
Yeah, and the woman on the panel Joanna Barnes was in the Parent Trap, she played Vicki Robinson who was the girlfriend to Brian Keith's character.
and after Hayley is fully grown, Disney hired Alexis Bledel (best known for her role in 2005's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) instead for 2002's Tuck Everlasting as the mysterious girl whom the boy liked.
I was thinking she was all grown up!
Delightful!
She still is! :)
Hales, I've always fancied you. I'm a lot younger than you. Any chance?
hermosa !!!!!!!!!!
l loved her as a little girl in Tiger Bay. That is were she got her start.
Parent Trap rules I know that voice anywhere
You would think that Hayley's "Parent Trap" co-star, Joanna Barnes, would've picked up on it right away.
is it Penelope Pitstop?
a great and intelligent actress, and i'm sure a source of pride for her genius actor father, john mills; juliet is no slouch, either--
Wow! I never knew that. I love what little I've heard of Kula Shaker. They spearheaded a kind of 70's revival movement if I'm remembering correctly. I've got to look them up.
lol what i love is the entrance, filthy look, hair swish and rolls eyes!!! deep down my girl Mills is totally thinking, where is the nearest pub!!!
The early 60s was a big time for cat movies. The Aristocats and some other animated cat pictures were big then.
nickelodeon did a child-ified version of "What's My Line?" which is named "Figure It Out" and had Amanda Bynes and three other teenagers.
@matthew3alex still love 'The Moon Spinners'.
I would have known her from the clearing of her throat. She did it a lot of times in her movies.
So sweet, adorable and innocent. Who'd have thunk that barely over a year later, she'd display her bare bottom in a film?
+Larrytheloser so what...its far more respectful then the famous who show EVERYTHING in films/Playboy etc...so what..Hayley is still TODAY RESPECTFUL, WORKING, FAMILY ORIENTED AND HAS A SON. And same for her sister Juliet.

+Larrytheloser That would be her evil twin...you know the one from The Parent Trap.
What film was that?
It was called "The Family Way". Came out in July, 1967.
@87kittygirl i think she was 16 or 17 here
She will always be Pollyanna to me.
A young Miss Bliss.
how old was she here? She looks like late teens.
and she seems so sweet!
exactly what i was about to say lol
from the first cough I'd be able to guess it was haley mills
So you reckon you’d be sure from that it was her but you can’t even spell her name?
@getoutofmyway01 I was coming on here to write the exact same thing thinking I might be the only one that heard that - guess not.
Her voice is SOOO recogniseable!!!
I'm not sure if she meant to, but she sure had a pretty snippy look on her face when she first walked on.
She does! And I would too
"It's not 'Gone With The Wind', I'll tell you that!"
meow ;)
love Arlene
I would have known it was her the first five words.
Miss Bliss!
What a beautiful woman.
I guess there's only 2 degrees of separation between me and Bennett. I actually know Mark Gosselaar. LOL
Hayley must've been 17 or 18 when she did this. The way she spoke French in this must've means she must've took French. And I like the way she giggled was a amazing thing for Miss Mills.
@torchkit Was and IS! :)
It's too easy cause they always put a guest on who's in town to publicize their movie
Miss Bliss!
There's no way for her to disguise her voice...the french worked okay, but there's really know way for her to disguise the voice.
I remember her in those Disney films and didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to her British accent.I don't know why,I just didn't.
I love Healy mill
Miss bliss!
The Moon Spinners That Darn Cat and Summer Magic Disney and Tiger Boy Nikki and Pattie Randal and Pollyanna
roy boulting was a lucky SOB
wow you r right the gold digger! What a movie I saw it in the movie theatre as a kid
