It was on a Sunday I met my old man, I was 26 years old. Aww but it was much too late to speculate...hello Sunday hello road! That man could say a whole lot using so few words! Brilliant!
i saw Gil in 1980 when he opened for Stevie Wonder at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and i fell in love with him that very moment and my love and admiration for Gil has never wavered
An amazing talent, poet, musician, author, political activist, ....I hope God is taking his talented from earth in preparation for one of the most astounding musical events to be hosted in heaven! Even through his struggles, he gave his best....AMAZING...I will always love his talent, his music, his mission was well accomplished; people are still being touched by his truth! Feel really blessed to have met you and saw you perform... R.I.P.
Was that really necessary? Come on now. Gil was as “woke” as they came back then-way before it became a buzzword to use in the place of “things I don’t like” by conservative pundits.
To this very day I love me some Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson at one particular time the only political radical band in America, brought to you by Detroit
It's also because they used the TONTO, a gigantic synthesizer developped by Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff which definitely sounds like Stevie Wonder's signature keyboards as he used it on best records starting from 1972. Gil Scott-Heron and him were very close to each other and toured a lot together, it must have been such a thrill to see these geniuses on stage !
