@@JocSlowed You need to be wearing an alpha which hides the system eyes. I wear one from the Lelutka head folder which says "BOM Head/Body, Applier Eyes". And then just attach your new eyes. I have a new tutorial coming out next week which will show you how to do this, if you're still stuck
I don't really watch SL Vlogger videos much or comment on TH-cam videos. After finding this video by accident I was happy to see the nice amount of male content. Gorgeous Greg transformation is the bomb! From being a cool guy walking down the street with his yellow stereo playing BeeGees' Staying Alive to being a much cooler, much improved head turner Oslo. There's nothing I can say more that I haven't said before about your videos...but meh, I'm gonna say them again: Your videos are very informative, detailed and definite help to those who are starting in Second Life. Haha! Thank you Nigel! Boston Sensei - I'm definitely going to use that ;) Your feedback is always appreciated my friend! It's good to know that I'm on the right track with them. Good luck for the giveaway!⭐️
This video is so helpful. I've been on SL for a while but I am so happy with the all the new things I've learned by watching this and it's lovely to see something about male avatars :D Thank you for making this! (Lycan Tyran)
Great tutorial, good recommendations. I agree with what you said about Lelutka's customer service. I was trying an all-BOM avatar, but when I removed the eyes alpha, it looked like the system hair showed. I asked on Lelutka's Discord channel, and quickly got the problem diagnosed and an easy solution, the problem was with Not Found's Russel eye brow shaper! A couple of simple edits of the brow shaper, and all was good.
Yes, they're really helpful and awesome. It's great to see a successful SL brand putting their customers first, even with the design of their heads. Thanks for the feedback, George!
Thank you so much for this video! I was lost on what to do after coming back from a long break and figuring out how to get it all to work. This helped immensely!
There is a glitch/bug with the lel heads at times. Even if you switch between evo and evo x one face has hair all over and the other has the face upside down when applying BOM on both body and head. Until today they never fixed this. Catwa has a reset all button which cleans all addons and restores the head to its default state. Lel head doesn't have a way to reset the head to default state. You can get any Lel head and play around with the demo. But if something went wrong and you decide to delete the head it wont matter. Getting a new demo head will still have the errors saved from the last one. Lelutka heads are the best "looking" right now in SL but functionality is more important. From a range of mesh heads to choose in SL catwa may not look the best but its a better head integrating with BOM and appliers. As for Lel transitioning their heads from evo to evo x confusing the mapping in the system its best to wait a few months until all of SL settles for evo x and leaves evo behind.
Hey, I've never come across this glitch and I switch between lots of different Lelutka heads. To be honest, it sounds like user error. The only time I've seen this is if you accidentally have BOTH and Evo and EvoX layer on your head - it won't work. You can only have one or the other. In the advanced menu, you can reset everything.
Arimo Teixeira, aka Mario Metsovaara, here. Great video, and fantastic information. I will be checking out more of your videos. Plus, I also subscribed to your channel. Awesome stuff! Ty!
I absolutely love your videos. I had been debating about investing in a Legacy body, but you did such a great job of explaining it that I may pick it up this weekend. Looking forward to your next post.
Thanks for the tips. Been around Second Life for over 17 years now yet I have no idea what I'm doing with the mesh bodies but lol. Have to say that legacy severely lacks clothes, which I found out the hard way after my purchase yesterday 😟
Hey, no problem. I've never come across that issue with Legacy. I'd say it's one of the most popular bodies to rig for. I show hundreds of creators on my channel who all make clothing for Legacy. Is there a brand in particular you're referring to?

Loving your videos very helpful. FolIowing this vid and attached my lelukta evox head and have an issue when detaching the default eraser the system body and Legacy body then collide so I select BOM from the Legacy Hud, I turn orange rather than a skin colour. I've retried many times and the same happens. Appreciate any tips. Thanks in advance.
Hey, thanks John. If you turn Orange, it sounds like maybe you don't have another alpha on. Check your layers to see which alpha you have. I have one named "Bom Head & Body with Applier Eyes". Also check that you definitely have the body skin layer on.
@@BostonB Hey Boston thanks for your reply. Im using one alpha and is the one you have suggested. I have added a Not Found skin for Eon but still showing as orange. Hey, Boston, hope you'd be able and willing to explain something for me. For oneself, it's easier to buy a shape from those who know a lot about creating shapes-- I recommend you and Tivoli to other guys. But I have TEN dance alts that I use to choreograph dance routines; LeLutka offered the free heads, so I equipped them all, but they have classic bodies except for one that I use for photography & pose creation. I equip the same male shape and the same female shape on all dancers to they can be used on just about any production I'd create. I was hoping you might be able and willing to explain something: when you right click and create a shape in your inventory, it doesn't have as many slide options as those you would buy. Why is that? How do you get all of the sliders to fine tune things?
Hi Niecho, you should have all of the same shape settings as any that you buy - it’s a universal system. Obviously the male and female shape sliders will differ slightly and you can toggle between male and female in the top right of the shape editing box
Hey, there always needs to be a system skin layer in place. Some creators just use bom layers to cover it. Maybe my new video will help: th-cam.com/video/7NNlJfYBAtY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dAPVzSeVM0kBOVRx
Great help to create my first mesh avatar :) Nevertheless a steep learning curve. Still lots of questions. What when I like to buy Cesar, just Evo skin from Stray Dog as well?
Hey Boston, Currently I am using the Catwa Viktor head and I am looking getting a LEL head as they are always up ton date and have amazing textures. I was wondering if there is a way to keep my overall facial look/aesthetic except with a more realistic upgrade of it?
Hey, yes it's possible but really depends on how you define that look. The Lelutka heads all have different characteristics. It's really the combination of head, skin and shape which creates unique looks.
Legacy have a free mesh body for men but it's quite outdated and clothing designers don't really rig for it. I'll try and do video soon for creating a low-cost avatar
Love this video that you created and MUCH Welcome back. We've missed you! I'm also glad that SecondLife showcased this on their page so you can spread the word. iw : NadiaCass
i could not figure , how much costed the Avatar body + head the legacy body that leluka offer its without head ? or they also have a default head for free ? anyway , thanks very much for share
Hi Manuel, the body and head are sold separately. Legacy does bodies and Lelutka does heads. They both need to be mesh if that’s what you’re going for.
Vista Animations for the walking animations (and moving standing poses). The standing ones I use in the video are from Beras. Please Check the video description for Beras SLURL, I can't post them in comments. Vista can be found when you type 'vista animations' in the search bar.
I'm curious if you happen to know any shapes that are not over 7 foot tall. I've seen some great shapes around but always seem to be the giant SL size. I know most of the default avatars show up around 6'6". I want something around that height but no one lists the size of their avatars when buying a new shape and last couple I have bought are 7'8" or 7'10" where my wife is around 6' tall in game and would like our animations to line up better.
There's not really a set standard for heights in Second Life. My avi could look like a dwarf or a giant depending on where or who I'm next to. For shapes, I focus more on whether I like the facial dimensions. The body can easily be adjusted by changing the 'Body Height' 'Leg Length' and 'Torso Length' in the sliders.
Hi Boston I purchased a Legacy body but cannot get the second button style card to load? I went into media as the help indicated and enabled the options it showed but still refuses to load ? Any ideas? As I cannot enable bom so stuck in half and half mode
Hey do you receive a message about enabling your media? You may need to go into preferences and ensure that media is enabled - I think it’s in the sound&media tab
Im stuck in the head part. I picked another head but this one didn't came with a alpha, so when the dafault avatar eraser is on, the head gets weird and red, but if i remove the default avatar eraser the default body appears but the head gets fixed.
What pc/desktop do you use for second life? I really want to purchase a good not too crazingly expensive pc for this bc what I have lags and crashes so much
Wow amazing transformation but way way to quick for me ! Also the cost is going to be quite a put off for most, although I guess you get what you pay for I have a Belleza Jake body and CaTWa head, but now you have me wanting a Legacy body which is way way more expensive than Belleza and a Lelutka head ! Oh my god lol not to mention skins, shapes etc! But totally enjoyable video 👍🏻
Thank you John! I try and make my video tutorials straight to the point otherwise people lose their attention on TH-cam haha. So the beauty of videos is that you can always pause and practice. That’s how I usually digest tutorials. But thank you for the feedback - I appreciate it. I often post sales and gifts videos where you can buy a lot of this stuff cheap. But yes there is certainly a small investment if you want a high quality male avatar on second life. Thanks for watching!
I'm sorry if you've already covered this previously. Can you, or anyone, recommend a good male height that would make him look tall and thin and to normal human scale? I'm either way too tall or too short. My SL avatar's name is Steve Dallas.
Hey Steve, hmm there’s not really an easy answer to be honest. Since there is no benchmark in SL. Sometimes I think my avi is reasonably tall, but then I go to a shopping event and look like a dwarf lol. I think the best bet is going with what you’re comfortable with. There’s always going to be shorter and taller Avis than yours
Thank you! Here’s a walkthrough tutorial for Lelutka Eon head th-cam.com/video/pgoHH75lqmM/w-d-xo.html . Soon I will be producing a Jake video on the Second Life TH-cam channel, so look out for that :)
Do you do inworld makeovers? For some reason I am having s super hard time figuring the Lagacy body and the Skyler head out. I am leaving the Aesthetic Body after 4 years. I have asked many people for help but after watching your video you really seem to have a firm grip on these style of bodies.....lol I need some serious help.
Hey, sorry but I’m unable to offer any 1-1 in-world support but I publish a lot of videos showing tips and guidance. If there’s something specific you want to know, just drop a comment on one of my videos and I’ll try to help 👌
@@BostonB I followed your step by step, think I got it figured out. ok maybe I had to watch it 4 times....lol..helped me a lot thank you for a very good video.
I'm having trouble using the evo x head with my signature body... once I use the skin from stray dog ( stick figure like icon) only the head changes. Then when I try to use a separate skin for my body it clips through my head... not sure what I'm doing wrong. The Evo x head is fine once I apply the skin just not the body... help please... 😓
Hey Jay, hmm I’m not sure to be honest. I’ve never used a signature body. Maybe post this in the Lelutka discord support channel with screenshots to see if anybody can help. Btw you can only have one skin layer on (the stick figure) . Everything else needs to be a tattoo layer on top of that (the red scribble)
Guys are always asking me for help with body/skin issues. I can now steer them to your videos. Thanks! I do have a male avatar alt that unfortunately is very stuck in the past and needs so much help (Ripper Zipper...how's that for a pirate's name?).

Hey Yacine, thanks. I feature lots of free stuff in the majority of my videos. I haven't been able to build a complete male avatar for free, which is to a high standard. I recently made a video showing the Akeruka Male head when that was free for a short time :)
amazing video bro!! clever lenguage is interesting store im going vsite to check ! i dont going participate in giveaway cause i have all legacy bodys :(, waiting for lelutka giveaway
Thank you bro! I’ll do a Lelutka giveaway soon! The arm sleeve tattoo is by Garden of Ku, and the torso one is from Premium Tattoo. I got them from Access and TMD a while ago :)
I can't put on both my BOM head skin and BOM body skin at the same time. When I put on one, it removes the other.. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
@@BostonB Blaisdale you rock! Your tutorial are top shelf, and you're a great host! I managed to fix the issue thou! I was using Legacy masculine, lelutka alain evo x and then stray dog caio evox head skin (demo) and legacy masculine skin (demo). When i tried combining them, the body skin would collide with another skin (was it system avatar?) or the items would replace each other. I ended up buying the skins on the off chance that owning the items would fix it, and it worked lol. I also tried adding items instead of wearing them, but to no avail.
God, the debate in my head... Signature or Legacy, I've tried them off and ended up liking the Legacy Athletic version! 😵 (Pssst!... ManuelAngel2004 Resident!...)🤫
Good choice! Just be aware that there are less clothing options for the Athletic body because there isn’t a developer kit for creators. So the masculine legacy one is more compatible. I do love the Athletic shape though and own that body too 😊

Hey Boston thanks again for the awesome video just to put this out there I was wondering do you know about the other mesh head store Akeruka they do some great mesh BOM heads alot of the time they do cheap and sometimes 1L heads if you have joined the group pls do check out that store :)
I loved your video showing the incredible transformation that the avi had, I would like to do that with my avi. I would like to ask if possible to make the same video in Portuguese because it is very difficult for Brazilians like me who don't speak English
There could be a few reasons why the neck line is showing. The one I showed is just one of the fixes. However it depends what head, body and skins you’re wearing
Very informative and useful.....if you have linden dollars, but I'm a new player with 0$ and don't know how to get linden dollars (unless I pay real money which I won't because I'm finding SL to be to complicated and not rewarding enough) Now Real Life is complicated, I don't like a "game" to reflect that, but SL does. It's frustrating, confusing, and stressful. A "game" should be a place to unwind and relax....right?
Hey thanks for your messages - I read both of them. I completely understand your point of view, and yes there's no denying that creating premium looking male avatars costs some lindens. Female avatars tend to have more low-cost alternatives. There are still some cheap options for Men and perhaps I can cover that in another video. Perhaps you could learn to create something in Second Life, or provide a service to earn lindens. Many people do that as an income.
@@BostonB I would love to learn to create, but I wouldn't even know where to begin. Also, I wouldn't even know what services to provide or even where to find them. I'm a total newb at this, sorry. But I still enjoy your vid casts. My problem is I don't want to pump real life money into SL until I know it is something that I will stick with.
Wb Boston! We missed u so much! Thx for the very helpful video and great content.. Looking forward for more. Legacy Athletic would be amazing! DorianLevi resident.
Thanks! When I first started, I just bought a Legacy body and Lelutka head. This came to around 9k lindens. I used the skins which were included but soon upgraded to BOM skins by Stray Dog and Not Found. So that was around 1500 lindens. There are cheaper heads and bodies but in my experience these are the better ones. And once you have the body and head, that’s a one-time investment. Last December Lelutka had a free male head available for a week. It’s quite rare to get free male heads (of high quality) but maybe they’ll do it again this year
This was SOHHHHHH Helpful for me! Being able to go back to exactly where I got lost lmao w/o having to scroll 4evr was Uber perfect! #Appreciated #🥰TheAviNames🤗

Vista Animations for the walking animations (and moving standing poses). The standing ones I use in the video are from Beras. Please Check the video description for Beras SLURL, I can't post them in comments. Vista can be found when you type 'vista animations' in the search bar.
been trying to get this doesnt seem to work at all
which part are you stuck on?
You may need to go into preferences and ensure that media is enabled - I think it’s in the sound&media tab
hello , but what about the back clippings ? there is like a glitch on the shoulders area
Hey, what do you mean exactly?
THANK YOU SOO MUCH this really helped i had messed up my body and now its fixed because i watched this
That’s awesome, I’m glad it was helpful to you! I’ve got a new video coming out soon :) Thanks for the feedback, I always appreciate it!
Im stuck in the head part. I picked another head but this one didn't came with a alpha, so when the dafault avatar eraser is on, the head gets weird and red, but if i remove the default avatar eraser the default body appears but the head gets fixed.
Hey, hopefully this forum explains it: community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/449951-my-avatar-skin-all-red-except-for-face-and-hands/
Great tutorial, thank you. 12:55 How did you disable the preview in the editing shape window? :O
Thank you! There’s a setting in the preference under “Move & View” - just untick “show visual hints”
@@BostonB Thanks a lot Boston!👍👍
What pc/desktop do you use for second life? I really want to purchase a good not too crazingly expensive pc for this bc what I have lags and crashes so much
Hey, I made a video a while ago discussing my computer specs. Watch it here: th-cam.com/video/9BuNjNsfkhE/w-d-xo.html
Really glad I found your channel. Great stuff for the males. Thanks Boston!
I’m happy you discovered my channel - thank you! :)
Hey Boston, great video. Do you have a video for Belleza Jake and Lelutka Eon head? I want to start making clothes for Belleza.
Thank you! Here’s a walkthrough tutorial for Lelutka Eon head
th-cam.com/video/pgoHH75lqmM/w-d-xo.html . Soon I will be producing a Jake video on the Second Life TH-cam channel, so look out for that :)
@@BostonB Thank you so much for the video for Belleza Jake. I just saw it. I am so excited!!!
Where can I get ears that are pierced just on the lobe part? I just want a simple piercing for my male avatar
I haven't found any that I like just for the lobe but I'm going to be making some soon
Since Baras doesn't seem to exist anymore, what poses/AO do you recommend?
Haha it does exist - did you try the landmark which was in my description? If that doesn’t work, I’ll contact the creator
Cool name! And thanks for sharing with people :) We're all stuck in the past underneath that alpha hehe. Good luck for the giveaway! ⭐️
oh boy .... so much I am learning .... where has this been all my (second) life?
Haha, well there’s mutual appreciation for what you’re doing too!
@@BostonB thank you Boston! Sent you friend requst in world = maybe some day in the future a little profile of you ?
Ive had the same shape and skin for almost 8 years. Gonna update using this guide. Hope its easier than i think it is.
Nice! I have other videos showing the whole process including this one: Second Life | How to Build & Customize Avatar 2022 | Legacy Body Giveaway! Full Creation Tutorial
th-cam.com/video/6ax3_07PmPU/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this tutorial, my Hubby is joining me on SL soon, he has an avi but needs updating to Legacy 😁 So this will be helpful, as I don’t have a legacy body.
You’re welcome, that’s great to hear :)
Wonderful as usual! Helped me with my male avatar, I was lost. I would like to try the Female body now. (Kristie Sapphire). Thank you for all that you do! Keep up the fantastic work Boston!
Thank you so much! Truly appreciate the feedback. Good luck with the giveaway! ⭐️
Hi Boston, just getting back into the groove of Second Life after a long absence and found this video very useful, especially with possible savings on clothing deals. You'll find me as JamesAK Karas or James Karas.
Good to hear, James! Glad to help. Good luck! ⭐️
Hey sir boston nice video i just have a question will there be a video for creating a male avatar for free !!!
@@BostonB thank you so much bro! :D hugs
The free starter bodies are much better than when I first came on 13 years ago and we had painted on stuff. *Boyzn Sorbet*
You mean they were worse than Greg?! 🤗
@@BostonB Look me up on Fb...you can see an old pic of me...lol
I can't put on both my BOM head skin and BOM body skin at the same time. When I put on one, it removes the other.. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Hey you need to right-click and “Add”. If you double click or click “wear” it will replace the item you had on previously
(Pssst!... ManuelAngel2004 Resident!...)🤫
Good choice! Just be aware that there are less clothing options for the Athletic body because there isn’t a developer kit for creators. So the masculine legacy one is more compatible. I do love the Athletic shape though and own that body too 😊
HOW do you do a HEAD DEMO in the store?????????????????????
Just click the demo button. I show it in my newest video: th-cam.com/video/7NNlJfYBAtY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FKGwhQQO1AwS_1u5
@@BostonB ty, but that vid didnt show how to do a demo like i asked. How do you do a demo in the store is my question. eg, walk into Llutka store and walk up and clik a head demo and then begin to put that demo on etcccc
very informative and explained to details great content as usual! it was very confusing for someone who just joined SL but i’m sure this video would explained all especially for the male avatar!! 🔥 (rigelous resident)
Great to hear, Aiden! Thanks for the feedback - I appreciate it! Good luck! ⭐️
hi im having trouble with the legacy body i keep getting black feet can someone help me and tell me why
Hey, sorry for late response but I hope you got it sorted. I just published an updated avatar tutorial which may help: th-cam.com/video/7NNlJfYBAtY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dAPVzSeVM0kBOVRx
Been in sl for about 3.5 weeks now this is going to help me a lot. Skittit is my sl name
Ah that’s awesome! Hope my videos help you out :)
What an excellent tutorial, also very relaxing 😌
Thank you so much, your words mean a lot🙏
Hey Boston thanks again for the awesome video just to put this out there I was wondering do you know about the other mesh head store Akeruka they do some great mesh BOM heads alot of the time they do cheap and sometimes 1L heads if you have joined the group pls do check out that store :)
Hey Elle, thanks for the comment. Yes I made a video review/tutorial of the male Akeruka head when it was 1 linden recently :)
@@BostonB cool cool :)
I loved your video showing the incredible transformation that the avi had, I would like to do that with my avi. I would like to ask if possible to make the same video in Portuguese because it is very difficult for Brazilians like me who don't speak English
Thank you for the feedback :) Unfortunately I don’t speak Portuguese but you can switch on subtitles on my video :)
@@BostonB thank you very much for the tip, I really didn't know this option existed, this was very useful for me
It is TIME to upgrade! Fantastic information .. will be changing my Mesh Body. (Texasopie Resident)
Haha, nice! Thank you and good luck!
Boston! always a pleasure!
Swaaain! Tyty friend 🙏
How much Linden's we have to pay for Head?
I think it's 3700 lindens
Sorry, but the neck fix doesn't work as you've explained it.
There could be a few reasons why the neck line is showing. The one I showed is just one of the fixes. However it depends what head, body and skins you’re wearing
I love your videos ….especially your shapes they are super realistic
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! Thank you! :)
My problem is I don't want to pump real life money into SL until I know it is something that I will stick with.
great tutorial :) Legacy Masculine would be great for my male Fnord Foxtrot
Thank you! Good luck ⭐️
Wb Boston! We missed u so much! Thx for the very helpful video and great content.. Looking forward for more. Legacy Athletic would be amazing! DorianLevi resident.
Appreciate it!! Thank you Dorian! Good luck :)
great video keep it up mate :)
Thanks buddy! :))
how much lindon's did the whole thing cost?
Probably around 11-12K Lindens in total for all items
Looks amazing!
How much L$ do I need to spend to create a decent body?
Barthez Swords
It’s quite rare to get free male heads (of high quality) but maybe they’ll do it again this year
@@BostonB Thank you for clarifying 🙂
Amazing video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
