The joker once said he wasn't crazy enough to take on the IRS. Pointing them at batman on the other hand.

Part of me wishes they'd bring him back. I'm surprised that he didn't drag the body off to the pits to bring him back. But sometimes gone is gone. Didn't he have a daughter who could alfred for Bruce?
I love alfred but i hope they keep him dead. There have been no consequences in anyone’s comics in years. No one seems to actually lose anyone because they’ll be right back. The only characters that stay dead are ones that fail and it makes comic deaths feel nonimpactful
Originally Alfred's death was supposed to be a Clayface fake out but top DC brass said "NO, you're killing him "

I mean to be fair 9 times out of 10 that prep has come back to bite him so I'd say it's good to go back to basics where the reason Batman could win is cause he was smarter in the field than having some contingency mechanism. Plus getting back to ground level might even help the Family become a stronger unit (cause the death in the family movie makes me want to see a united bat family with jason back in the fold fully.)

Well if you want Batman to have the same level of prep time you can just say that he has access to all of his previous resources.
@@Chaser547 I don't know about that. When Batman gets prep loses. He is only losing to guys like Superman and in one instance a legendary Predator. Current Batman definitely wont be all that useful to The Justice League anymore. At least when a threat to the entire earth shows up. Though I don't think that is his primary concern right now.
As a huge Batman fan. I honestly just want him to be with Selina and be a background mentor type. He's more than earned it. And if he is put into a spot to actually put the cape back on to help out. It would make for such a worthwhile impact to that story.

Selena fights crime while Bruce does everyday household chores but with the same demeanor and elaborate planning and execution.

He has lost his company many times or atleast he has to rebrand everytime over the years. But he is different from Batman. Batman is about vengeance. Ironman is repeatedly called a Futurist. His presence is not about a single city or vengeance. He is a rich guy who thinks he can put bad guys away because he can. Batman HAS to put badguys away.

Thats bs because Tony needs his expensive technology to build the armor suits. He can build a suit out of anything but he can't build a Hulk Busters out of nothing.

More like Batman doesn’t think he needs the justice league since he fights actual god tier enemies like the joker constantly, the enemy even the justice league fears. If they are afraid of someone Batman beats constantly, why would he ask for their help? He’s just waiting until they need him, which is the natural way of the DC universe.

I actually love seeing these two together. It was painfully obvious for several years that they *belong* together but DC always got cold feet. I knew their "marriage" storyline was going to end Exactly the way it did..... because *DC* 🙄

Grifter is "THAT GUY" aka THAT DUDE" from the Wildstorm. He's basically DC's version of Gambit, Mr. Majestic is their version of Superman

I think that like a great idea that Batman go ‘low-tech’.
Reminds me of “Batman:TAS”. Sure, it was the 90’s and old. Still, Batman uses his intuition.
Even in episode of “Batman Beyond” where the bat suit got hijacked or possessed, Terry McGinnis wears only Robin/Nightwing mask and an old utility belt and fought only with his physical and mental skills.
I do not mind this if it moves Batman forward and gives him more depth and leads to a better Batman in both the short term and especially long term. Tho I love both Marvel and DC (marvel ever so slightly a tad more) Dc does a MUCH better job advancing their heroes and I Hope this is the case with this make Batman broke storyline. I always felt a shot of the Peter Parker enthusiasm and being in the city he loves was what Batman could of used, we shall see if this is right.

You may not have any interest Rob but I'd definitely recommend you read Wildstorm by Warren Ellis and Jon Davis Hunt. I just picked it up not knowing anything about the universe and it became one of my favorite stories.
I’d recommend checking out Grifter and the rest of Wildstorm. The Authority and Midnighter & Apollo series were brilliant. Wildcats is hit and miss but really entertaining
It's worth noting that Batman would still have access to the Justice League's stuff, and Superman would probably build a whole new Batcave within a day, stocked with alien technology, if Batman asked for some help.

9:05 aahhh so Batman is getting the nerf stick.
Putting the focus on the detective side of Bruce's life means that if its written well then Batman's identity can remain hidden. Gotham has a massive underground and sewage system that the criminal element has used for decades to freely move around the city so there's no reason for anyone to see Batman anywhere near the area that Bruce lives. I'd very much like to see these stories take Bruce in a whole new direction for a long time. Maybe even taking up a career as a lawyer since it would allow him to rebuild his family fortune while also keeping him in touch with the criminal activity in Gotham.
Or running for Mayor. That will allow him access, as Bruce Wayne, into Gothams system and see how far the corruption extends. Bruce could also use Dick, Jason and Barbara to gain insight, so as to collect information and formulate plans to improve Gotham from the inside out. The story could also touch on the aspect of Wayne Industries and how itself has been infiltrated and how to improve it's work environment for Bruce's employees.
Eventually you tell a story in which Bruce is subconsciously listening to Alfred's advice, before his passing, to improve Gotham. Just my thoughts on progressing the growth of my favorite comic book character.
@@carlosmartinezjr3501 Being mayor of Gotham would be far too public a position to have the freedom to be a vigilante. It also wouldn't play to Bruce's personality as being a mayor means working with others and depending upon them. It's a very team oriented role and we know that he's at his most comfortable working solo. Not that he doesn't recognise the value of having a team, but Bruce generally feels more comfortable when he doesn't need to rely on other people.

To this day, my favourite Batman stories are some of those in the 60s-70s. Neal Addams and the like... I remember reading my old man's pile of comics. The penthouse stories where great, grounded detective stories. I respect current Batman stories, but it is nice to not have a Bat Megazord and the city in flames every three or four months.

Us 80s/90s kids most certainly remember Grifter from WildC.A.T.S. (the comics and the cartoon). Most recently if you remember, DC tried to establish the Daemonite Leader, "Helspont", as a Superman villain. Not sure how that ended up working out.
You should familiarize yourself with what has been folded into DC, not just Watchmen either.
As a tried and true Batman fan, nothing can be better than Batman getting back to his roots of being a detective. The gadgets and tech are great but he’s not Tony Stark, he’s freaking BRUCE WAYNE! He uses his mind and ingenuity. I’d love to see him create his own tech instead of just paying to have it done.
If Bruce retires in 5G, he better end up with Selina.

At the start of Joker War, many people, including Comicstorian, theorized that it was done to "nerf" Batman. He was WAY too rich. The man had a personal underground subway and a Batcave on the moon. With that said, a street-level Batman isn't half-bad.

OG Grifter was a member of Team 7 and later joined WildCATs who were supported by the Halo Corporation. Team 7 was a special forces team experiemented on by IO (International Operations) ala AKIRA and gave them all different levels of Healing factor, Telepathic, and Telekinetic powers. Grifter has a criminal background before Team 7 and after leaving Team 7 he met Zealot who trained him in the arts of the CODA.
New 52 Grifter was part of Team 7 but fought Daemonites solo without the WildCATs. These feels like they are looking to add more WILDStorm material to the DC universe again.

Gritter was part of team Wildcats. He was originally part of team 7 who were soldiers who were experimented on to see how they would react with powers. Most of the tram commuted suicide but the ones who lived became team 7 propper. Grifter has powers but can't use them much because its slowly killing h when he uses it. He became part of team wildcats and was trained by Zealot to be a better warrior. If you read up on the comic your probably like it. Or not.

@Alicia Riley Its a call back to when Rob used to say that whatever he was reading at the moment that was published by DC Comics was the best one to come out of their "Rebirth" series of story lines, like batman or superman or the green lantern, etc etc. It just so happen, that to Rob, ALL the stories were the best to him, and he way say something akin to what I wrote before.
Honestly, he would say it so much that it was like a rolling joke and a meme for us, and he even hated it at one point.
I particularly like it since it made me laugh at how often he would say it, but also because of his genuine excitement is something that is relatable and also nice to listen someone enjoy themselves!

I don’t think anyone is implying this is “new” but taking Batman back to his basics and foundational stuff aside all the high tech gadgets. Especially with the new Batman film more in line with the year one/earth one approach.
