That much backlog is any manufacturers dream. Clearly it doesn’t mean you can’t get a CRK for six years. It simply means that the products are in very high demand at the moment. Ramping up manufacturing throughput as Tim mentioned by adding work space, equipment, & employees resolves it but business growth has to be carefully managed. They don’t want to have so much capability that your company suffers as the economy inevitably takes a dive.
Glad I bought my Sebenza 25 in 2012 it was perfect no weird break in period so smooth from the 1st opening ; take it apart why no cries of issue in doubt ever done a lot with dressed 4 deer with it just rinsed period. So sad the knife is now a bleak shadow of what it was. Tim Reeve typical boss's son 😂
Bring back the Sebenza 21. It was unique in the line-up. Now the Sebenza 31, Inkosi, and Umnumzaan are all the same knife in different packaging and they compete with other high-end framelocks. Nothing special anymore. I own a 31 with black micarta, polished blade, and double blue thumbstuds. Nice knife, but it doesn't feel anything like prior iterations of the Sebenza . Has to do with increased lock-bar tension due to the ceramic interface and the junk stop pin that replaced a lapped and custom tuned version on the Sebenza 21 (nearly the same tolerance as the pivot). Tim has messed with the Sebenza his dad perfected. It doesn't need a canted clip, either.
O redered the Pacific and Grenn Beret 3.5 years ago. Just received Pacic. I asked when the Beret would go into production? She was like A Long time. Plus when I ordered they were $325., But they charged me New Price. $375. Not happy about this. Now it is similar to Randall Knives Hurry Up and wait!! Great blades, but, questionable business ethics. Chris is Retired... FYI
Dude I hope this kid isn’t doing drugs i can tell he’s on something I just bought a bunch of knives from them now I see this SMH 😢better not mess up dads business he will be pissed took him a long time to get that reputation it’s no joke it only takes one bad customer. Also my dad is South African so I know you and your dad better than you think..
Chris lost the business in his divorce with the kids mother. His wife Anne & son have actually expanded the business not long ago and suddenly they have a 6 year backlog. It’s BS. They’re manipulating the market.
8:00 I’d love to have Tim finish his sentence. Missed out on the history of the backpacker
Was just about to say the same thing. An interview with Tim…might be nice to let him speak…

All about the screws!
Here’s a nutty idea… go BIG. Open a bigger shop in NY. I wanna work and make blades 💪🏾
new york has stupid business and knife laws. why would a company open a business in a place where they would be crapped on by most politicians?
They'll never come to NY It's clear they're not wanted!! Hell it's hard to even have a show there!! SMH
Yeah…come to NY, dbl pricing to make ends meet.

I thought they charged what the price was when you ordered it. I'll just stick with monkey edge for orders then.
Nothing is worth that long of a wait. Then they up the price after you order. Hello China.

sounds like youre the one on drugs.
And that’s why men are not marrying like they once did.
What makes you think he's in drugs?
Hallucinations are a sign of drug use. You're definitely projecting.
