I just started collecting hammered coins! I'm in the states and the first two coins I bought from a collector was a edward I penny and a Elizabeth I 3 pence. Thanks for putting this information out!

Thanks for the great video! I got recommend by Classical Numismatics , although I only have a single English hammered coin, a Canterbury Henry III voided, this channel may push me to get more.

Hello there, thank you very much for your comment and I’m so happy you enjoyed the video! What a great count I have, it’s an area of coins that I collect and boy are they addictive 😃 if you ever need any advice, let me know.

This is how the penny-farthing was named, the larger front wheel being the penny to the smaller back wheel's farthing

Question: I found an Edward farthing in ploughed soil which is elliptical. It does not look clipped and has spare silver at either end of the ellipse. I have seen others like this on the internet. Do you have any idea why they would mint elliptical farthings and when? Very good channel by the way. I found you after you were on West Country Cleggs channel. 👍

Were the halfpenny and farthing minted under Edward I, or someone else?
